Reviewer's comments
"Not much care has been put in the visual department, the level does not look bad or good. Gameplay is about retrieving many key objects and this includes to face different challenges , none is hard , there is the jump room , the traps area, the pitch black room which is quite intuitive to go through, some of the ideas were original to create at the time the level was built. Many enemies. Secrets easy to find. Entertaining." - eRIC (03-Jul-2023)
"It's a good and enjoyable level. The gameplay is mostly about finding puzzle items to get to new areas, but the hunt for each of them is fun because you face a different challenge in each area. The author has been generous enough to provide lots of ammo and health packs so you can be well prepared for the many fights, only thing is I would've liked some flares because some rooms were a bit dark. In the end it was a nice level you should play if you're looking for something easy." - alan (05-Mar-2023)
"This is quite an expensive level from the early years. There's nothing intensely difficult here (bar the trap-filled passage and the ending boss battle which could have posed a problem all those years ago), but there's some fun gameplay to be had off a main room, seeking out loads of artefacts and fighting some harpies, skeletons and demigods. The invisible ledge was a bit much, as were the walkthrough walls, but I enjoyed the psychedelic black room and overall I had fun here." - Ryan (16-Oct-2017)
"This is another level with a hub room and lots of areas off it, in which to find loads of pickups and various artefacts. There are a variety of tasks to perform in the different areas and some fun traps, agility test etc., interspersed with enemies (mainly harpies, with the occasional demigod) to battle. It's a successful mix that keeps the momentum going and feels like a satisfying raid. The surroundings are reasonably attractive/well made, without being stunning. Definitely worth a try." - Jay (10-Sep-2016)
"Lava rooms with fun platforming, illusionary rooms, crowded fights, shooting boxes for triggers, lots of keys to pick - there are lots of interesting things to do in this level. The spike traps are also done well and it requires some observation to pass through. I am not sure if I like the walls you can phase right through (or invisible solid walls) but I suppose it is okay once in a while. The non-linear gameplay and the fact that there aren't any dead ends are welcome, you can collect the items and use them in any order and still will not get stuck. On the visual side some rooms look rough and empty, but this is balanced by various sceneries like the throne room and the doors leading to it, greenery at some spots, and the central big room. My other complaint is the pitch black room which is weird and confusing. The level offers nearly an hour of entertaining gameplay and I recommend it." - Nomad (23-Aug-2016)
"Even when there are not interesting puzzles, this level is worth to play with a lot of original tasks and some fresh ideas. The tasks can be done in any order, and there's no much backtracking except in some passages where there is not a shortcut to get back to the main room. The only things I didn't like were the phantom walls and the black room. At the end you can exit the level avoiding the fight with the demigods. There are also enough pickups (perhaps too many pickups) and the areas have a good look. Take a try." - Jose (19-Feb-2016)
"Here's a level from the early years that plays remarkably well today. Nothing new is presented, but the lighting is good, the environs are pleasing to the eye, and everything unfolds quite logically. You operate out of a hub room of sorts where you need to explore for various artifacts to keep moving along. Gerty has provided a concise walkthrough that lays out the proper order of things. It's a fun raid of nearly an hour that players of all skill levels should find invigorating. Recommended." - Phil (21-Feb-2014)
"A level which does not lack ideas, the gameplay is rather amusing with some original passages or Lara passes across walls and cannot any more too much or walk. Having quoted decoration it is classical but constructed. Some rooms would have been able to be disposed a little better to break the monotony of identical textures. A good game however which allows to cross a nice instant of relaxation." - Daffy (06-Aug-2009)
"This is a good example of a classic Raiding level.Nothing too challenging (in fact, some of the tasks have lessened in severity over the intervening years),but a few moments which make you stop and think;plenty of enemies to fight;fluent gameplay;and interesting progression, often criss-crossing places you've been to before but from a different perspective.Although it's essentially a Cleopal level, the Settomb textures lend it a slightly more unfamiliar and colourful air (aided by occasionally vibrant lighting). There were a few too many squawking birds for my liking (and an apparent absence of secrets);but a few original touches helped to compensate, particularly the sequence involving prying a Beetle out of thin air (an effect way ahead of its time). It all built to a suitably grand 'Boss Finale' and was ultimately quite satisfying. Another in the category of 'oldie, but goldie',which should definately be given a go by all those in need of a fast-moving(but not exasperatingly tough) raid." - Orbit Dream (23-Jun-2009)
"This is such a little gem! It offers you a very varied gameplay while you quest for a number of items to progress, facing spike rooms, blades, a sequence of slope jumps over a lava pit, a pit with some invisible ledges which are given away by the skelleton. On the downside, however, there's one untextured room (apparently done that way on purpose), fire that doesn't kill and a couple of walkthrough walls (again done on purpose). While they don't harm gameplay, they might cut the smooth flow of this otherwise pleasant raid. A bunch of enemies thrown in for good measure and you have it all. Don't miss on it. 45 minutes, 3 secrets." - Treeble (03-Apr-2008)
"An old Egyptian level but quite good actually. Fast paced with gems portal guardians pillars and scrolls to find in various places after passing the traps and enemies. In the level we see spikes fire traps deadly water that turns safe and skeletons harpies demigods to battle. The guns given made the enemies easy to destroy. I liked the rooms with walkthrough walls; they weren't big enough to get lost but a clue was given to make think where did that skeleton come from! After getting an item a new door opens to a new area until you gather both scrolls and end the level. I found one secret and took me thirty five minutes to complete I believe mostly because I have played it before. I recommend this fun level." - Kristina (05-Aug-2003)
"This is an interesting level there are a lot of pickups many places it's actually hard to figure out what and how to do (there are some nice hints like the skeleton jumping on the invincible platforms or the small medipack you can see from a distance) but still it was quite fun the 45 minutes it lasted. The first part of the level is mainly avoiding some traps items you need and so on. One of the mini-quests is the so called holorinth (maze-like area with walkthrough walls) which is quite psychedelic and has many parts of it (the textureless room the floating invincible platforms) and since that was my final quest the whole ending sequence turned out to be that way since what you see mostly ain't real it's just an illusion. A nice try at level building give it a try if you want to." - eTux (14-Dec-2002)
"The environment and textures here remind me of a mix between the cleopal wads and the settomb wads and ended up being a nice looking level. There are quite a few objects to collect here including two Portal Guardians two Pharaoh's Pillars two scrolls and I lost track of the number of gems but it's at least four. There are a number of fun little adventures to go on to collect all these objects which include lava rooms and tricky jumps walkthrough walls spike traps changing lava to water blade traps a cool invisible maze and lot's of banshees and demigods. There's a lot of action packed into this 45 minute adventure and at least one secret that I found." - RaiderGirl (29-Nov-2002)
"I don't think I have come across a single level that has had the large amount of key pick ups to find that this one does 5 gems 4 black beetles 3 Pharaoh's knots 2 portal guardians and 2 scrolls. Though most of those were easy to find this level set in an underground temple nonetheless was really fun because of the use of walk through walls and floors invisible platforms lava that is turned to water on more than one occasion one room that is purposely untextured leaving it pitch black except for the exit retracting spike floors target shooting 3 secrets and more. The only thing that maybe let this 50 minutes level down a bit was the large amount of weaponry and ammo to be found making the battles with the skeletons demigods and golden birds some of these in mixed packs a little too easy and though I know the player has a choice not to use them if they are there undoubtedly the player will." - Sash (21-Jun-2002)
"What you have here are some pretty standard 50 minutes of raiding a tomb with cleopal WAD enemies (many harpies and a few skeletons and demigods) in a mostly settomb textured environment. I liked the fact that from a central room you can choose your next move and then it all comes together placing the four beetles to get one of two scrolls and most of the side adventures are fun I especially enjoyed the jump sequence and the changes of lava into water. On the downside I found the part with the walkthrough walls invisible ledges and non-textured room outright annoying and off the mood of the rest of the level." - Michael (21-Jun-2002)
"A level with many artifacts to find about 18! Perhaps a little too much in comparison with the number of the rooms perhaps some more levers had been better however it is a good level with a lot of traps to overcome transformable rooms holographic walls and in particular there is an entirely dark room where the flares don't help and two rooms as arenas with monsters to kill. Among the many artifacts to find there are the 4 black beetles essential that allow entering to the ending of the level. I have ended the level in 1 hour and 10 minutes finding 3 secrets and a bug in a final room Lara walks without dieing over the fire." - Boris (21-Jun-2002)
"A pleasant enough hour of raiding with lots of puzzle pieces to find and enemies to fight. A few traps and obstacles slow Lara down a bit in her steady progression through the level. Texturing and atmosphere are fine without breaking any new ground." - Tombaholic (21-Jun-2002)
"My oh my what an interesting level. Packed with all sorts of pickups and not that hard to find. Going from room to room with a lot of harpies and demigods to battle so be prepared for a big fight and a final one. I just had to do the big one again as there were so many harpies. Only draw back was the pitch-black room where you have to find a way to get to the other site. I made it by walking but still even then it took some time. Loved the walkthrough doors and floors and I was lucky every time. Funny thing was that I could walk through what I thought was lava. There is lava enough and some of them you have to turn into water. Also a nice jump sequence over lava pits. Even some nasty skeletons who will chase Lara. I had a great time. 18-05-2002" - Gerty (21-Jun-2002)
"Gems Portal Guardians Pharos Knots Music Scrolls and black beetles are all packed into this interesting level as you chase from room to room finding and using these items. Lots of those wretched golden birds a few demi-gods and some skeletons try to get Lara as well as some lava rooms. Some invisible ledges that can't be lit and a totally dark room are among the many puzzles. Worth a play." - Fairy Godfather (21-Jun-2002)
