Reviewer's comments
"The main idea of this game was unique in comparison with the previously released games and levels, but the main problem that destroyed the reputation of this game was the length, and that was pretty short! It almost took me about 5 minutes to finish this game. In fact, I was waiting for something so cool and dramatic to happen but eventually, the builder had nothing to surprise us! If it was remade, it would have been a very nice game indeed! Thanks!" - Mehrbod (07-Jul-2019)
"Solid but too short this very small level to give high ratings. The player only needs to find the crowbar, pry a star and move a globe; all this avoiding fires and steam emitters. No enemies, no musics for the brief flybys, no traps, no secrets... The best, the well applied textures." - Jose (13-Nov-2017)
"A very short level where you must find a star, move a structure to a tile and go to end the level. Also avoid some fire and steam but nothing else. There aren't even enemies or secrets." - alan (14-Oct-2017)
"A library and yes, it's burning. Not a lot to do other than avoid some fires, find and place a golden star, push a planet piece where it belongs and end the level through the opened door." - Ryan (01-Sep-2017)
"Crickey, that was short - not even ten minutes. Well, it certainly doesn't breach the Trades Descriptions Act; it's a library and it is most certainly on fire. Grab a crowbar, prise a star off a wall, stick it in a receptacle, shove a planet push piece onto a square, go through the door it opens and that's about it." - Jay (14-May-2015)
"Not a whole lot to say here really, as you find yourself exploring a small library(with little to no enemies/objects around), that utilizes plenty of easily avoidable burner traps, in order to poorly prevent you from accomplishing relatively mundane tasks required to open a simple door, with an exit trigger on the other side. And that's it. So while the use of TR2 Croft Manor textures here isn't too bad for the year it came out in, I honestly can't recommend this release to anybody, due to its short length and overall simplistic nature by today's standards." - Ceamonks890 (04-Jan-2015)
"Well, this is one of this short short level which one must not necessarily play. OK, the library looks quite good. And, yes, the level has a few nice Flybys. But a little bit more sound would have been quite nice. And, nevertheless, it is very much unsatisfying which one is already after just 7 minutes at the level end. And the level builder has made it actual to insert the Savegamebug. Thus who likes it, should play it. I do not like the level in any case." - Scottie (23-Mar-2010)
"Another early level as it seems to me the author is testing the water. This level doesn't have much to offer and I must have completed it in under ten minutes. It is not difficult at all as long as you find the way to lower the raising blocks which was the only part of the level which had the potential to stump me for a while. However, as far as deisgn was concerned it did feel like a library alhough the same textures were used to create the bookshelves. Its a shame this level wasn't very long but nonetheless it had potential. Maybe the next levels from this author will have a little more of offer." - Necro (23-Apr-2008)
"Yep it sure is burning. Lots of fires and some steam vets to steal your health away but no enemies to tackle. Simply run about and find a lever to raise a block then go find the star and place it make a small globe move and open the door to exit the level. Took me 7 minutes and although a little bland it wasn't too bad. Some enemies might have spruced it up a bit though." - Moonpooka (11-Jun-2004)
"Fun cheeky and quite bizarre little blast (built around an amusing concept) which bears a sort of resemblance to the final level of Marksdad's masterpiece 'Beneath'. Only of course it isn't as good. Not by a long way." - Orbit Dream (22-Nov-2003)
"Well this was short and sweet and simple. The camera work stood out in this level and if the author would set his mind to it he could make great levels as there is potential. Find a star place the star move an object open some doors and that is it in this case.17-08-2003" - Gerty (28-Aug-2003)
"A short game - only 10 minutes; but I liked it - had no much sound but Flybys. Textures are well placed and a good atmosphere - would have liked to play more time... Maybe the builder gets the motivation to build a real Level - meanwhile we could use this and look forward." - Miguel (31-Mar-2003)
"A poor level five minutes or so. Guess what it's a library with fires and gas. You get the crowbar to pry a golden star and after two switches and pushing a planet you hit the finishing trigger. No fun at all." - Kristina (20-Dec-2002)
"It was fun for the six and a half minutes this lasted. In fact the idea of a burning library is dead good and the atmosphere with all those fires and steam was not bad either. But as there are no enemies and only six rooms this seems more like a demo than a proper level." - Dimpfelmoser (19-Oct-2002)
"The level is quite short and as you understand from the ratings you can't expect too much of it. The textures are applied nicely but there seems to be no atmosphere. Even the few fire balls don't help much. I wouldn't bother if I were you." - eTux (11-Jul-2002)
"Set in a burning library as the name states all there is to do is find and place a star move an object to its obvious destination open a couple of gates and finish after 7 minutes." - Sash (21-Jun-2002)
"Short and crisp (took me less than 10 minutes to complete the 6 rooms) and unfortunately crashes back to the desktop due to missing load screen parameters. But it holds to its title with a few simple puzzles and lots of fires and hot steam and there are three nice flyby cams therefore the 7 rating in this category." - Michael (21-Jun-2002)
"Quite a simple little level with one or two short puzzles to throw you off your run for home. A good idea I thought that didn't really develop into anything significant. Game play is around 10 to 15 minutes on this one." - Torry (21-Jun-2002)
"This is one of the shortest levels I played until now! I finished it in less than 8 minutes. The level is based in a big library which is on fire. Don't expect something like Sinking Submarine in TR5. The 'burning' term is due to some fire balls on the floor. I think the textures were repetitive but well applied and the fly-by cameras were well worked." - Treeble (21-Jun-2002)
"Though just a short ten minute level it gave me the feeling that the author could really create a good long level if he chose to. The camera work was done especially well and though the puzzles were simple this was fun for such a short level. Set in a burning library you can hardly turn around without finding a fire or a steam vent and more appear as you work your way through the level finding a jump switch a crowbar a golden star a door that opens as you step onto a platform and finally after pushing an object onto the right square the exit door opens. Ok if you're looking for something short and easy." - RaiderGirl (21-Jun-2002)
"A bit short just 6 rooms and about 10 minutes to play. Sort of first try I think. But the camera sequences were nice." - Sheevah (21-Jun-2002)
