Reviewer's comments
"The sole offering from this author is not a bad one, actually. As usual with holidays levels, this is rather short and straightforward and has you running through a rooms of a funny-shaped house in search of puzzle items to proceed. I'd have never spotted the charcoal, but otherwise it was obvious enough and the new objects made it fun. Like, a lever shaped as a toaster is something I wouldn't have expected but in true TR logic it absolutely opens a gate elsewhere. There are several characters from the series and that made it all the more charming, although I have to say the song playing on repeat got tiresome real fast. 15 minutes. 06/22" - Treeble (12-Jun-2022)
"Charming and funny this xmas home level. its simple really just make your way around the rooms finding objects like coal, carrots, buckets, puzzle piece and a key, use them in the appropriate places to continue and find more, theres a couple of pushable objects tasks as well for a little bit more variety. whats funny is the music and the characters from old games making an amusing appearance, you've got sophia in the pool room, von croy on a piano, winston on the drums, amanda belting out a tune on the mic with pierre dancing the night away, kurtis is chilling on a sofa but dont ask me what janice and larson have been up to in their room cos hes already passed out on the floor haha. theres lovely warm homely textures and atmosphere here and a little snowy outside area with some snowmen as well. a very short and simple but cute and funny festive level to enjoy here" - John (21-Aug-2021)
"There's admittedly very little to do here short of picking up a few items and pushing a few Christmas Tree tables around, but it's well worth playing simply to see the return of familiar old and new TR characters in bizarre ways (the dancing Pierre was hilarious) and the generally well constructed setting. Music got a bit repetitive, but that's purely personal." - Ryan (17-Oct-2017)
"Relaxing level with nice atmosphere and short and not challenging gameplay. Well, it was a calm level in the beginning, it was cool when the music started but I think the builder could've used it only once or at least different songs. Anyway, I really liked the characters used in this level. It takes less than 15 minutes to complete it, tasks are very easy but you may overlook some items." - misho98 (20-Dec-2014)
"Right after the start we get into a mansion type level with many different rooms and objects. The provided textures looked good, sound was good, even if repetitive. The few tasks you had to solve were good, Lara's friends were placed well. A recommended little Christmas level with nothing to decry." - manarch2 (15-Jan-2011)
"There's not much here in the way of gameplay (and what little there is is somewhat imperfect,as some of the items are hard to discern and hence pick up);but it's completely charming all the same, with a lovely sense of humour.Pierre dancing ceaselessly and strenously;Winston playing the drums;the hilarious little Hash Den.The music might make you violent after a while, but as it'll all be over in fifteen minutes or so it probably doesn't matter.Great fun for everyone!" - Orbit Dream (14-Dec-2009)
"This level was fun in including all the TR characters, but it would've been nice if some or all of them had actually played some role in the game. The motorcycle was a total tease. i'd say, don't include it in a level if we're never going to get to ride it. This level was fun for what it was, and it definitely was xmas-themed and creative (the hooka bar was pretty cool), but it was too short. But it helped me get a fix while i'm anxious for this year's advent calendar!" - drguycrain (29-Nov-2009)
"I know this is a little late since it isnt Christmas time, but i thought may as well. This is a nice little Christmas adventure which is very nice looking with the home, the colours and the lighting. I had a problem with facing the snowman and i ended up in a very awkrad position after i eventually got the right place to stand. It was very funny seeing pierre on the dancing floor, boogieing until he dropped and also seeing Von Croy on the piano. This is a lovely adventure which she see more recognition. Grade = A-" - herothing (23-Aug-2009)
"After a succession of as yet uncompleted, gratingly challenging levels, my faith was restored having played this charming little Christmas adventure. Upon entering the live music room and watching Pierre strutting his stuff to Amanda's rendition on stage and Kurtis Trent chilling out horizontally on a sofa whilst Winston beat away on the drums, I literally fell about laughing! The song is on a loop and so unless you don't enjoy that kind of repetition you may wish to dull down the sound because you don't actually require it but I found it added a good party atmosphere. Great to see some of the usual suspects poking around Lara's home in an unusually non-challenging manner and Lara's costume was very fetching. I really love these non-combative fun levels so if a bit of gentle escapism is your mood of the moment, this is just the tonic. Just be patient when placing a certain item or two outside (you'll need to stand in exactly the right spot)." - High Priestess (12-Aug-2009)
"Curious level with a lot of people around in small rooms taking some fun of several ways, some of them well known like Von Croy or the final woman from TR3 London levels. The level is very short and easy to play with a festive background music. No guns, no enemies, I couldn't find secrets. You only need to explore the house looking for some objects and doing some actions to open several doors. Good environment well textured, I missed some cameras with certain actions. Another Christmas level but with some particular details." - Jose (05-Mar-2009)
"A simple house level with a quirky christmas theme. Lighting is very moody and there is a bit of going back and forth through the various rooms and interconnecting passages in order to place items in their right places. In line with this it was very awkward to find just the right position to stand Lara in order to place the face on the snowman. Game play is very straightforward and easy. Whilst there are a few comedic elements to this level that I did laugh at, as soon as 'marimba rhythms start to play' unfortunately they never bloody stop. So annoying this repeated playing was, in fact, that I had to edit the relevant wav to permanently mute it. This too was a pain to do for the non existent quit option with this level's exe, so some players may find themselves trapped in the interminable hell of those ever revolving rhythms. What were you thinking builder? I could have spent my time on a better level because I didn't think much of this one." - Czar (04-Feb-2009)
"This is a short (15 minutes) demo-like release that presents few problems in the gameplay department. The looping raucous music in the disco room, however, got so annoying that I turned off the sound to finish the level. Other than that, this is a pleasant diversion with some nice visual contrasts in the indoor and outdoor areas, good lighting and stress-free tasks that most gamers should enjoy." - Phil (28-Jan-2009)
"Short but very sweet, this introduces us to all of Lara's old friends, while we run back and forth through a few rooms collecting the necesary objects and keys to place the final present on its table. The different positions and animations of Lara's friends are very well done and at times hilarious, special mention going to Pierre on the dancefloor and Von Croy playing the piano. A must-play to see this unique original element." - MichaelP (18-Jan-2009)
"Certainly liked this level because of the funny animated figures in it. Gameplay consists of finding objects to use on a couple of snowmen in the outer area. For me the coal was hard to find as I was trying to pick up things I though hidden at the people for a long time, nowhere I could get anything till someone in the forum said "the girl" and then I went back to every girl trying from all positions to get something ;-) and finally I got the Coal. Thus far the carrot didn't have the "combine" so I never thought of looking for something else and was trying to get the carrot into the snowman for a long time. Quite red this level... Hardest part was finding the puzzle items. Music became a bit too much in the end. Nice Christmas atmosphere level." - Dutchy (09-Jan-2009)
"A very short level under 20 minutes, where there is not a lot to do except finding objects and try to see where they can be used. The setting is well built. Lara is in a house with several animated personages who are about to celebrate or have already started to (and it seems that Larson has already finished). I found the level very dark , and the music is an exotic pop/disco dancing tune. Very annoying was the fact that I could not exit the game properly, I had to press CTRL+ALT+SUP." - eRIC (09-Jan-2009)
"The only downside of this level, as we all know from many experiences before, is the annoying, atmosphere-killing song in the background. Yes, I hear it, its "Sway", but there's no swaying in this level. Despite being short, around 15 mins, this level is about exploring around the mansion, collecting different items and trying to figure out where to put them to proceed. I thought the lighting was a bit dark and too red for my taste. Texturing was nice, and so were the objects and items used. The presence of the TR and Legacy characters in the middle of funny activities or positions (Pierre seriously looked like a raging Gorilla, Testosterone high and fly) added to the level, and made it up for me despite disliking "Sway". A nice effort from Arkanga, and here's me waiting with anticipation for her next offer." - Shady Croft (09-Jan-2009)
"Slightly belated for a Christmas level, but very welcome nonetheless. This is short and sweet and very funny, with various of Lara's friends, acquaintances and foes scattered through the house having a good time - a very good time in certain cases. There are some delightful items to collect and use and a few simple push puzzles, but the real charm of the level comes from its humour - don't miss it." - Jay (08-Jan-2009)
"This is a rather short level of less than 30 minutes, but a nice and inventive idea to put all of Lara's friends together and let them celebrate Christmas, even if Larson implies he has had a bit too much of whatever. All those characters are animated. Gameplay-wise it is searching for puzzle items, some table and crate pushing and playing in the snow completing snowmen. The house is well adapted and nicely decorated. But I have to admit, that the music which was enjoyable at the beginning was getting on my nerves a bit after a while." - Jerry (07-Jan-2009)
"Nice little romp indeed, picking up stuff to dress the snowmen and pushing some objects to get finally the key to grab the present that is under the Xmas tree. Then the level does crash which is a bit sloppy, no matter what the readme says. A tad dark for my taste and the music drove me wild at the end." - Gerty (07-Jan-2009)
"I would move into that house any day if that's the sort of parties that go on LOL. This was an excellent level, with lots of fun moments and a festive spirit. Lara is in a house at Christmas time and it all looks so cosy and warm. Lara's friends surround you, and this was just brilliant how they were scattered throughout the level doing various things, such as dancing, playing the piano, opening pressies and even having a chill out in the bong room. (I snuggled up to Larson for a while lol) There are many items to collect to open doors, and searching is the key to this level. You will need to find some coal and a carrot, a bucket, a puzzle piece, a present and a key. Some moving of objects is necessary too, but nothing in this level is too difficult. I thought it was perfectly lovely, with a great sense of humour behind it. A must to play if you need cheering up, or just want a nice calm Raid." - Moonpooka (06-Jan-2009)
