Reviewer's comments
"Once again another TR3 mansion replica but visibly this time we a have new effects, its set at night time with the moon out and looks gorgeous with great lighting and shadows and there's some mixture of different textures from tr2 as well in some rooms like the main hall, gym, library etc and i have to say i actually prefer the way it looks in this version rather than both the original home levels! gameplay is an exact copy of the tr3 home level so completely unoriginal, and lacking the gym, the racetrack has a motorbike this time and also new textures that look better, and this time there is easy access to the roof area which also is improved visibly but at the end of the day the level is just another copy of the official which ultimately is disappointing again" - John (11-Aug-2021)
"This is just the same thing as "Sophia's Revenge", another level by The Vagrant. Both levels are simply the "Lara's Home" level from Tomb Raider 3 with minor changes. In this case, the main change is that it's dark outside. Other than that, I noticed some texture changes or for instance, that nearly the entire gym has been removed." - Nuri (22-Feb-2020)
"Nothing we haven't seen before, it's true, but there are quite a few changes to the manor beyond Lara's new assets and the cool bike. Quite a few of the textures seemed different from the original TR3 manor, and I'm not convinced the visual changes come from the night time lighting. 15 minutes, 1 secret. 11/19" - Treeble (17-Nov-2019)
"Even way back when this was made it must have seem a bit underwhelming to be honest. It's basically very much the original home level with a few tweaks here and there. Mansion levels do tend to be rather low down on most players' must play list and if you do enjoy them, there really are better ones out there." - Jay (11-Sep-2018)
"This TR home level does not offer all that much more in game play than the original and my game crashed on entering the basement (as do quite a few of these home levels based on the TR3 engine). I think this was more to display Lara's new bosom which looks much more realistic than any of it's predecessors." - Torry (15-May-2018)
"If you've played "Sophia's Revenge" better don't play this one. At a first moment I thought that the author had fixed the bug when the level crashed going down to the basement, but no. It's exactly the same level but darker and perhaps better textured (I couldn't see very well the textures 'cause the continuous darkness), so my ratings and the review must be the same: "Really not worth to play this mansion level. Only explore the same old mansion doing the same old tasks when you can exit the level when you want. My level crashes when going down to the basement after the timed run, so I couldn't visit that place. Forgettable and no interesting."" - Jose (17-Jan-2018)
"TL;DR: if you want exact/simplified copy of Tomb Raider III house with moody light, push up bra outfit and access to roof, go ahead and download. If you expect to see something new/played TR III before - don't waste your time. I try to avoid reading reviews before playing, so I didn't know what to expect. Before starting I opened read me and giggled a bit, as Lara seems to be smuggling melons. The author explains he had no time to change much, but simply offered us the option to play Lara's home at nightime. "Alright" - I said, as I like Lara's home levels. Was a bit dissapointed, because almost nothing was changed. What could be simplified, was simplified (like the obstacle course and such). Fridge works, you can lock Winston at nighttime and steal his tea to enjoy moonlight alone. Too bad author had no time to add anything, cause even a room or two - something little extra/secret, would be enough to justify simply reuploading the Lara's home...home I know too well as I spent most of my childhood playing this level. Too bad that there's no extras, or that Kevin didn't decide to come back to this level, add some stuff and reupload it. Lara's dangerously sexy outfit is not enough. The light and atmosphere is quite moody and I liked it, but it makes me even more sad, as if something was added, this could have been worth downloading... oh, you can explore the roof. But there's nothing special on top of it. Just couple of decorative textures and windows." - Alien Autopsy (20-Oct-2016)
"Another Home level and the second I have played in the space of a couple of days. It is again the same TR3 mansion that we have probably all played by now, the only differences being Lara's outfit, it's nighttime rather than daytime, the quad bike has been retextured to look like a motorcycle, the Racetrack Key is in a laughably easy location and we can use the Uzis. So if you wanted a rendition that deviates from the norm, you are at the wrong place. Not recommended." - Ryan (29-Jul-2016)
"Another dodgy prj, slightly re-textured and modified (with the same predictable crash if you try and access the Basement in game - which is hardly necessary anyway,as the all-important Racetrack Key is just lying around in front of the entrance). The monkeyswing in the Assault Course doesn't seem to be workable;but the level is effectively gloomy (the darkness does little to hinder progression),and the atmosphere is aided somewhat as a result. Nonetheless, coming as it does in the midst of this builders far more notable works, this level can hardly be seen to be anything more than a quick-and-easy Filler." - Orbit Dream (18-Sep-2014)
"Another TR3 Croft Manor level map repackaging, only this one's set at night, has several different textures used on the environment, the quad bike's been reskinned to look more like a motorbike and Lara is wearing a different outfit from the norm. So again, if you're expecting to experience something drastically different beyond simple visual changes(before taking the plunge), you would be better off downloading something else, as this offers literally nothing of any real value to potential players(besides nostalgia, I suppose). But than again, why play this when the classic TR games are so readily available to play nowadays and offer the same exact experience for this level give or take regardless?" - Ceamonks890 (17-Sep-2014)
"Is there anything else to say to this Home levels? If there were few major differences, maybe yes, but only few lightning and textures changes can be seen here. There are the usual problems with the cellar. I don't think such an talented builder like The Vagrant should have released this level. Just because you already know it by heart before playing." - manarch2 (24-Jan-2011)
"By today's standards this is as boring as it gets. A home level and the only tasks you get to do are the ones we have all done a million times before - and most of these do not even yield any reward or help any actual progression. So, if at all, have a look at this for Lara's skimpy outfit, a huge full moon and a cool bike." - MichaelP (27-Jun-2010)
"You can start this one either from the Lara's Home menu or the New Game menu. If you do the former, there will be no crashes in the basement, your times will be noted if you do the assault course or racetrack, but you won't have the weapons from the start and no privilidge to save. Starting it from the new game makes the basement unavailable to you, but since you only ever need it for the Racetrack key, which you can get elsewhere here, there's really no need to visit it anyway. Other than that - the differences to the default Lara's Home setting are not very dramatic. You get a cool new bike which you can take outside of the racetrack, the assault course seems modified, and of course the looks are enhanced a little via some new textures, rain effects outside, better use of lighting, making your stay more pleasant for the eye. After driving over Winston a few times, doing the obligatory corner bug trick to the roof of the House, I decided to call it quits here. One of the nicer variations, but unless you're a huge fan of house level's, you're probably not secretly longing to play this one." - eTux (26-Jun-2010)
"It's a Home level too. Very similar, like the original one in the main game. But here are more problems. First, if you open the gate at the garden, the adventure will ends. The bigger problem is that I couldn't reach the cellar, because after the timed run, go down on the stairs, the game will exit. So you should find another Home level for yourself, it's not up to much." - Obig (30-May-2010)
"Yet another TR3 home level, but this one has atmospheric lighting and is fairly complete. This is mostly about driving the motorcycle. Lara can do everything including turning off the fire in the library, climbing up the chimney to the attic, and pushing blocks. Use the attic switch to make a timed run to the door under the stairs (if played as a regular level the game crashes in the basement aquarium). Lara starts with a racetrack key and picks up extra ones by the gate. On the racetrack speed around on the motorcycle, taking corners fast, and leaping barriers. Once you have had enough of that, Lara can drive right through the block at the entrance, and drive the motorcycle up the stairs to park it in her bedroom. Convenient and handy. The level ends when Lara goes out the front gate." - dmdibl (20-Feb-2010)
"The same mansion level than in Sophia's revenge except that here we are playing with Lara again , and at night; given Lara's outfit it must be summertime. Here again I had a crash when going into the basement after the timed door, but I could do the racetrack for the key is placed near the keyhole. That was the best part, the author has designed the racetrack with some turns that allows a smooth driving, and the motorcycle is great as you can drive in backwards." - eRIC (07-Nov-2009)
