Reviewer's comments
"A short romp in glitchy Tibet. Not very captivating, sadly. As with the author's previous works the gameplay once again consists of running from room to room killing enemies and pulling a scant few switches. The textures and lighting are badly applied and it's quite obvious that the level has been made relatively quickly due to obvious cut corners everywhere. The uzi clip textured walls make a return and there are also a few rock walls you can just straight up walk through. Despite being focused on combat the level gives you loads of supplies so I'm sure one can beat it even if they stay in one spot during gunfights. There's a slight amount of fun to be had with the fast paced nature of the level, but that's pretty much everything positive I can say about it. Not recommended by the end of the day." - LuxQSD (28-May-2022)
"In this, his third release, the builder is still very much in debut mode. While I appreciated the roughed-up floors and ceilings, such attention to detail occurs only in patches; generally, the environment is boxy and unappealing, and further compromised by dodgy room geometry (insubstantial diagonal walls, Lara sinking knee-deep into the ground, the drive-through hillock at the end). The animated Uzi clip textures, first introduced in this level’s predecessor (Venice’s Neighbourhoods) in a situation where they could be interpreted as some sort of transmission mechanism, return with a vengeance and can no longer be rationalised in this manner, since they now cover entire walls of large underwater passages, producing a vaguely psychedelic effect.
eTux and DJ Full have sufficiently elaborated on the combat, which constitutes the level’s primary gameplay element; it’s also strictly linear, and in this sense indeed akin to Venice’s Neighbourhoods (Nuri). However, whereas that level played like a half-hearted fulfilment of an obligation, this one feels entirely different, as if the builder recouped the reckless joy that was on display in his debut. I’m glad to see that the snowmobile goons are back—while bereft of their TV sets and drinking coffee instead, this time they also serve the purpose of foreshadowing, in the manner of the TR4 skeletons which you just know will spring to life at some point. The level also features a situation in which Lara survives a snowmobile explosion and continues on her merry way; I have no idea how the builder accomplished this singular feat. The level is worth a look for that alone. It’ll take you less than 15 minutes to complete." - Mulf (25-Mar-2022)
"A small 10 minute badly textured tibet level. A free review i guess." - JoeTheCrazyGamer (25-Dec-2019)
"Short Tomb Raider 2 level of around ten minutes where after a few pitched battles early on you find a whole nest of weapons and med packs (when they are no longer required). The two snow mobile rides have you falling to your death into water where after the snow mobile explodes, Lara curiously survives. Other than that it is pretty standard fare and we have the usual texture fade outs that is pretty standard in these levels." - Torry (05-Dec-2019)
"There was a funny moment in this level, near the beginning. You get the snowmobile apparently only to run down 5 or 6 baddies in a narrow corridor - and if you bother to check their bodies for pickups, you'll notice each is carrying one type of weapon. Ok, maybe that wasn't so funny, but hey I'm weird. The author states it's a first level but I thought the first room looked deceptively nice, pity the rest of the level was pretty average, and especially later on with the drive-through slopes(?). Linear, short and very fast paced as you move from one area to the next (with two short snowmobile rides along the way). 10 minutes. 05/17" - Treeble (28-May-2017)
"This is a shooter, no doubt about it. There are no head scratching puzzles, no attractive set pieces or environments, all you do is shoot, shoot, shoot. If you like that, be my guest." - Ryan (23-Jun-2016)
"The first 100 metres of this game are hilarious with Lara obtaining a different weapon from each thug of a large crowd splattered with a snowmobile. For a nice change, further enemy placement requires some tactics but also includes nonsense ambushes from behind, and while some cameras try to prepare us for these, they fail to work. Then we encounter a silent coffee table, again hilarious thing and a better hint than any camera would provide. Then the path gets uphill but gameplay rolls downhill as we pick up countless useless pickups - the snowmobile finale (sweet Mother of Collision!) left me with 1317 uzi bullets of no purpose. SUMMARY: I get the point and it was a good one, though this level would be better as a prologue transcending to something greater. But it's obvious the author had fun while building, so I shared a lot of it." - DJ Full (29-Jan-2016)
"This level is very similar to "Venice's Neighbourhoods", another level made by this author. The gameplay in this was also like "running through rooms". It seems that this is the same level, just with other textures and stuff." - Nuri (13-Nov-2015)
"Considering this came out two whole days after the builder's 'Venice's Neighbourhoods' level, I can't say I'm not surprised that Brenna seemingly learned nothing with this release either, with practically none of the issues from that earlier aforementioned level addressed in any real shape or form. In fact, I think its even gotten worse here. While I do admit to have gotten a little satisfaction due to running over plenty of enemies with the various snowmobiles laying around for the taking, that still isn't enough to justify the fact that you need to take more time when creating new levels for other players to tackle. Otherwise, you'll just end up with a completely unfulfilling and unsatisfactory experience, which is very much the case here unfortunately." - Ceamonks890 (12-Aug-2014)
"A primitively textured TR2 level, shooter-style and uneventful gameplay. A short snowmobile ride was bit interesting, but nothing else. Not recommended." - manarch2 (05-Dec-2010)
"A "How to survive 10 minutes with hordes of enemies" type of adventure, and it's really crazy, especially if you don't take the time and kill all the guys around. Lara swims through rooms textured to uzi ammos, flies through rocks, and...that's all. After all I found this level a bit silly." - rtrger (13-Nov-2010)
"It's short and very uncomplicated, but it's nice to see a Tibet TR2 environment for a change, even if it is somewhat crudely constructed. You also get to run over a load of baddies on your snowmobile and then pocket all the goodies they drop. There are also vultures and snow leopards to deal with and a vast amount of pickups that you really don't need at all. I did like the two chaps just sitting at a table though." - Jay (01-Nov-2010)
"Short little level. On the end I falled down into the water with the snowmobile and I had no injuries. I smoothly swam to the next room. Interesting bug. There are many enemies but we'll get many ammos, weapons, its a real wonder, Lara can take all of these. :) A bit hurried level." - Obig (29-May-2010)
"Sort of fun, even if underdeveloped with a spartan Tibetan landscape. Lara rides the snowmobile, the first time in a narrow corridor to plow down a single-file squad of goons. These are the same guys who gave Lara such a tough time in the TR2 monastery, so enjoy it. All leave good pickups like M-16 and grenade gun. Later Lara falls with the snowmobile into a deep pool and survives--the snowmobile slides to the bottom of the pool rather than exploding. Lara pick ups a bunch of ammo, but the level abruptly ends anyway." - dmdibl (27-Apr-2010)
"Again a short level, but a shooter this time. Although I found plethora of ammo and mediapcks, I didn't found one weapon. Might be as some of the enemies I killed went into the wall too much so I couldn't get their pick-ups. A buggy level as well and when you see the second snowmobile, don't use it, travel on foot, that is also fun to do." - Gerty (12-Apr-2010)
"An early attempt of young builder, but still kind of fun for the 10 minutes it lasts. You get a snowmobile for a short ride (twice) and make your way forward through square rooms, killing whatever gets in your way. Also two keys to find and take home, as I did not find any use for them. As said by others, the drop of the snowmobile into the water without Lara dying is worth a look alone..." - MichaelP (12-Feb-2010)
"This is nothing more than a visually plain shooter. The builder clearly cares not a jot for crafting beautiful landscapes or applying tasteful lighting;but that doesn't really matter when all you need to do is shoot hordes of guards (the ones on snowmobiles you can ignore if you're not in a particularly blood-thirsty mood),tigers and nasty birds. The most enjoyment to be had here is plummeting the various snowmobiles into deep pools of water...and surviving!" - Orbit Dream (11-Feb-2010)
"A simple yet dynamic raid , all straightforward , with some enemies to kill or crash with the snowbike. At one point I heard an enemy on a bike but I already had moved on to the next area. I quite like the fact that you can ( and must ) dive in deep water pits , the bike may explode or not at the bottom , while Lara can continue. The setting is not quite polished ( that the least that can be said ) and the lighting quite bright [ 8 minutes ]" - eRIC (11-Feb-2010)
"This took me a little below 10 minutes to complete, but it was actually not that simple to get through as one might think. The first rather unspectacular eagle and a line up of mercenaries presented to Lara on a silver plate while she's riding the snowbike lulls you into a false sense of security but the ensuing battle of panthers, mercenaries and their snowbike mounted siblings actually took a strategy to come out alive on the other end of it. After that the level returns to being rather tame and unspectacular, with the only curiosity being the option to try out surviving the snowbike rides even if Lara falls into the water. The looks have that vibe of an inexperienced builder around it, and I could only wonder how the uzi-clip textured rooms came to be. All that said - it's worth a go for trying out your skills in surviving the tougher room of the level, but other than that might not be of much interest." - eTux (10-Feb-2010)
