Reviewer's comments
"This is quite nicely made, but unfortunately the amount of gameplay and the scant length prevents me from scoring it any higher. There's a couple of items to place, a bit of climbing and swimming and the level ends abruptly upon picking up a Gem and seeing the final flyby. There's also a weirdly slowed down flyby and a few beetles to avoid but not a whole lot of substance to it." - Ryan (07-Jun-2018)
"A very short egyptian level. There are simple tasks, a very easy secret, a little story (which is a cinematic from TR1). There are no enemies, only bugs. So, not recommended." - alan (28-Nov-2017)
"Another Egyptian level, but this time very short. The level is well lightened and textured, but the tasks are very simple, without interest. Only place an artifact to open a door and pull a switch; even the secret is not hidden. There's an error in the design; the author should think about another setup for the flipmap, 'cause the player can cross the final pit even if he/she doesn't use the Knot (invisible ledge). Take a try but don't expect much fun." - Jose (14-Nov-2017)
"This was a rather plain and shallow level. I was expecting more. No enemies at all but beetles. A 10 minutes easy level." - Gonxii (08-Nov-2015)
"This is perfectly fine as far as it goes; unfortunately it doesn't go very far at all. At a scant ten minutes, it seems more like a demo that anything else. On the plus side, it's competently built and the brief taster of gameplay has potential, but it's obviously difficult to score it very highly. There is one secret to find and it's so obvious that even I would be hard put to miss it." - Jay (10-Jul-2015)
"Lara is in the tomb of the Pharaoh Tihucan and looks for the Eye of Tihucan. She must climb at a few ladders, open few doors, find Pharos Pillar and the portal guardian and is after less than 10 minutes at the aim. The level is built quite substantially, the textures are applied cleanly and the lighting is ok. The playing time is of course too short. This is a good level for beginners. He is short and very easy" - Scottie (14-May-2009)
"This Cleopatra level has a demo duration , about 7 minutes , is not badly textured and it's quite easy , there is no enemies , pickups you don't need and a secret which is so obvious.. The player is rewarded with an audio track and a well made flyby reading the hieroglyphs about Tihocan. There is a mistake at the end as you don't really need to place the pharos pillar to get through the pit as there is an invisible pathway (that becomes visible only when you place the pillar)." - eRIC (25-Dec-2007)
"A short level fifteen minutes tops with only a portal guardian and a pharos pillar to place. There are no enemies except some small beetles so I don't understand what the shotgun secret was for and a gem I picked up with no use. The cleopal setting though is nice but there is some greenery that is hanging from the air and touches the floor I mistake I am sure. Too bad there weren't any puzzles; it could have been a good level." - Kristina (05-Aug-2003)
"A short and crisp cleopal wad adventure with not much to do. The audio track from TR1 together with the boring wall fly-by was a nice idea but Tihucan's tomb wasn't in an Egyptian tomb as far as I know. Well play this if you really want to." - eTux (12-May-2003)
"It's a short level but it's a nice effort from the author. If you were wondering - yes it is the same Tihocan from TR1 one of the three rulers from Atlantis. In fact Lara will find his tomb and a cut scene will show Lara reading a wall - the same reading she does when she finished Tomb Of Tihocan in TR1. It lasts around 10 minutes but indeed it's very fun and not so hard. There's one secret in the way - impossible to miss it." - Treeble (21-Dec-2002)
"Yes there are a few missing textures. And yes that 'secret' is quite futile. But I have to say that I was enjoying this greatly. Rarely have I encountered a Cleopal level and found it fun fast-moving and enjoyable to look at. Gone are the black pyramids; the squawky birds; the golden Laras. Instead you scamper from one quite decently textured chamber to another eventually ending up in a room with a hieroglyph on a wall which (thanks to a special audio file and a neat little camera move) Lara translates into German for us. Versatile linguists those ancient Egyptians. She then proceeds into an adjoining room picks up a diamond off a pedestal activates a fly-by revealing a twirling light effect in the hieroglyph chamber and we (the player) are left high and dry as the game comes to an abrupt halt. Arrgh!" - Orbit Dream (29-Nov-2002)
"With key pick ups blatantly placed a secret that was totally obvious and a camera fly by that was just terrible as it purely focused close up to a wall and stayed there for ages and if unlucky could be re-triggered this was a less than 10 minutes non eventful level." - Sash (21-Jun-2002)
"Beginner level without much to do and took me about 8 minutes to complete. You simply make your way from room to room pick things up on the way (including an obvious secret) and avoid a few pesky beetles before ending the level after walking across and invisible walkway and picking up a gem." - Michael (21-Jun-2002)
"This ultra simple level of 10 minutes duration is best kept for the kiddies. There are no challenges here and in fact it is quite boring." - Torry (21-Jun-2002)
"The 19 rooms in this level do not excuse the 2 MB download. The level took me five minutes to finish (or less). This level was...how should I say it...amateur-like. The author forgot to connect rooms did the water rooms incorrectly there was no lighting in the level just the default lighting. There were two flybys and the author of the level forgot to configure the triggers to 'one shot' so when I got back in the level and stepped on the trigger the flyby was triggered again. The level was very easy... you do not even need to look for puzzle pieces they are basically in front of you or in the next (mostly empty) room. In conclusion this level is intended for people who just began to play Tomb Raider or as a tutorial." - Yonatan (21-Jun-2002)
"Although this is an extremely easy level I can tell the creator worked hard to make it look nice. You'll find some beautiful rooms here with the textures used in a very nice way. I found one secret made up of seven pick-ups including the uzi and shotgun though you won't need them. There are no enemies here except for some pesky beetles. Watch out for the deadly traps and you won't have any problems getting through this short 10 minutes level." - RaiderGirl (21-Jun-2002)
"Very easy and short level. Watch out for those pesky beetles that's all Lara encounters. The big download has to do with the little story you will hear by entering the tomb nice voice by the way. 11-05-2002" - Gerty (21-Jun-2002)
"That's the worst secret I have ever seen it was almost impossible to miss! Now when I've got that out of my system I better start reviewing. The secret (I couldn't resist mentioning it again) is very pointless since you find Uzis a shotgun (there are no killable enemies) and one or two Medipacks. The level is very short and incredibly easy and it can be completed in five minutes. There's no use in placing the Pharos Knot in its receptacle since the door I suppose it was supposed to open is already open. The texturing isn't very good and the lighting is bad. And if you get down to the bottom of the last pit you can't get up." - Magnus (21-Jun-2002)
"This is a very short level- I must find 3 objects. They were lying on the floor or in a box. I find one secret. In this secret were two guns but I did not need them. Some beetles are coming and one jump I must do. I found a pharaos knot but I didn't use it. The textures are okay and the atmosphere too. I was playing 10 minute in this lonely level. This is a not a game for beginners. This is a level for the children." - Andi Croft (21-Jun-2002)
"Quick quick I gotta write this review before I forget everything about this level. It's fading fast. Where there any enemies at all? I checked the other reviews. Oh yes the beetles; but there were only 5 or 6 in my case and they didn't seem to fancy a bite of human flesh. The most memorable and exotic thing here is the little spoken word performance in German. That's rather funny but don't necessarily justify the download. Oh yeah the last room looked rather nice." - Dimpfelmoser (21-Jun-2002)
