Reviewer's comments
"Beautiful colors, it's especially what I liked in this level. A labyrinth with multiple colors to recover 5 hands of Sirius. Then come out and climb towards the finish trigger. Rather short." - Drakan (15-Oct-2019)
"This is shorter than Dreamland 1 and in many ways very similar. Again, the gameplay will likely not fill you with too much excitement and with a duration of 15 minutes, it's hard to fill a whole lot in. There's also a multicoloured and multilayered maze, but to be honest I've seen worse. Like before, no real depth to it and it's mainly worth a look just for the colourful textures, but some of them are really pleasing." - Ryan (05-Apr-2018)
"As with Dreamland 1, this is more about the textures than anything else, although obviously it's hard to rate a demo in terms of gameplay, this being generally rather brief. So basically if you're looking for an exciting raid this is probably not it, but the custom textures certainly are to be admired so you might just want to take a look." - Jay (12-Aug-2017)
"Even when it's a demo, I think the author ignored the comments the players did for the previous level. Again, the architecture is simple and there are no objects to ornate; again, another maze (larger and coloured, but still a maze) with no fun. Lara catchs fire needlessly. Where are the enemies? Where are the flares? (this level is darker). The textures are well applied, but in this case they are repetitive in many surfaces creating monotonous environments. Not a level for my taste." - Jose (28-May-2016)
"Well, this was even shorter than the author's first offering. And while the original look still remains, the biggest improvement in here lies in the gameplay that actually made sense for me. The multi-coloured maze was not as bad as I imagined it when I first read the word 'maze', the unhealthy switch and the task with lowering the floating platforms - were interesting enough additions, but unfortunately there's not that much more to do here. I did find a secret a second before hitting the finish trigger, but that's about it. Give this a go for the nice looks and the brief clever moments, but don't expect much more." - eTux (10-Aug-2009)
"Having played the first part right before this one, I was very pleased to find out this time around that the rooms were smaller and the textures were incredibly better. The gameplay, however, is still fairly simple. The room with all the zodiac signs was nice but a little pointless as all I found to do there was to climb up the wall and jump to the finish trigger. Curious, though, was the placement of the only secret I found -- above the finish trigger which in turn is on an illegal slope. 15 minutes, 1 secret. 09/08" - Treeble (16-Sep-2008)
"It's the Tut1 Wad but not as we know it. For once the 'crazy' textures don't jar the eye but are aesthetically pleasing; resulting in a relaxed peaceful journey through beautifully textured and lit geometric rooms. Not very much Gameplay to speak of but for a 20 minute chilled experience it's perfectly alright." - Orbit Dream (27-May-2004)
"There's no doubt about it this level is lovely looking. I'm beginning to see a pattern (no pun intended) in that the Seek Novelty levels start with mazes to find things and from there on finding floor levers and hands. This maze is on different levels with different colours. The 'Zodiac Room' is gorgeous. There's a lot more swimming in this level. One switch sets Lara on fire but she can hop sideways into water. It's a lot shorter but I still didn't get to open three gates and I didn't hit an end trigger. Still worth looking at though." - CC (17-Sep-2003)
"As this is a demo there is hardly any gameplay but the setting and the atmosphere are great so it's definitely worth a look. You have to flick an unhealthy lever do a couple of jumps find your way through a colourful maze and before you reach the end after 15 minutes there is even the chance to get a secret. I want the full scale adventure; NOW!" - Dimpfelmoser (05-Oct-2002)
"Again this author made the most amazing textures. Although it is a demo and it is very short it's only pleasing to the eye and nothing else. No enemies at all no puzzles only finding in all 6 Hand if Sirius or Orion and placing them in the brackets. When in doubt use the binoculars then you can see where you have to go next. In the huge room with the zodiac signs it took a while before I found out where I had to go. Here is when in doubt climb. 06-08-2002" - Gerty (11-Aug-2002)
"What a shame this level didn't progress any further! Exceptional lighting and textures. Not a single baddie in the level but I really didn't miss them as I drank in the atmosphere. I played to both endings therefore total gaming time of 16 minutes and wish it were more. Nothing really difficult here other than jumping on the correct translucent block and finding those dark openings after that. When you did the longer ending (ending up in the same place anyway) you made a lot of useless pickups seeing as there were no enemies which leads on the believe there would be more. Oh well it was still enjoyable." - Momster (16-Jul-2002)
"I'm not a fan of reviewing demos as they don't give the real indication of the overall substance of a level but I suspect from playing this author's first level that this demo is pretty much what you will get with the entire package. Apart from the 2 secrets in this demo which I didn't find the rest of the 15 minutes it took to play was very straightforward but where this and the previous level stand out is the eclectic and overpowering texturing throughout this time with a zodiac element at its core that will make you stop and admire. In the end though I would prefer gameplay over pure visual eye candy so I hope both those aspects match in the end product." - Sash (21-Jun-2002)
"This could be the demo for the author's first level as the conceptual design is rather similar. But I did enjoy the 15 minutes trip through a simple maze with differently coloured 'layers' finding the hands that allow your access to the really impressive 'zodiac room'. Not much more than that though." - Michael (21-Jun-2002)
"What do you get when you cross a graphic designer with a level builder? Well in this case some beautiful and original textures and not much else. Gameplay was short and standard with a multi-level multi-color maze taking much of the time. Credit is given for one secret which is just alternate route to the end but the pickups found there are completely pointless as there is no enemy in sight. Sound and cameras are all but missing too. The original textures are really the star of this level and I enjoyed the "gallery" near the end depicting the 12 signs of the zodiac. If you're looking for some fun raiding though it's best to set your sights elsewhere." - Tombaholic (21-Jun-2002)
"Though only a short demo this is a good start to what could be a fun level. There are a few switches in the starting room and it took me a minute to figure out what to do then I figured out what those pools of water are really for. Then you're off in search of the first hand of six that will open the door allowing you to get the rest. I really liked the multi-leveled maze because it's not something we see very often and if this was much bigger it would put the old ordinary maze out of business. After placing the five hands you have two choices. You can choose the opening nearby and slide down into the last area of the level or you can place the five hands then return to the beginning area to find that the door to the secret area is now open leading you to another pool with a passage and a few more doors some weapons and pickups and more areas to explore. I hope this is made into a complete level but considering the third part is already out that may never happen. The highlight of this demo is definitely the custom textures especially the bright colors and the zodiac symbols. I had to take a screenshot of Lara standing near Leo which is mine." - RaiderGirl (21-Jun-2002)
"Very short level. Some nice looking textures but not a lot to do. No enemies gates left unlocked levers unpulled." - Fairy Godfather (21-Jun-2002)
"Not really much to do in this level however it does say that it is a demo. There is a maze where you find several star keys but you will have no chance of getting lost. The textures were ok. I thought the zodiac signs in the big orange room were absolutely brilliant; they look sort of like holograms. I would play this level just to see the big orange room with these holograms." - Jason (21-Jun-2002)
"This is a Demo. Okay it starts with an impressing room in grey. One has to push a switch which is in a fire. That is the only exciting thing to do. First when I entered the maze I thought: 'How beautiful the walls are' but after a while it sort of gets boring. There are the same walls on several levels and only a change in the colour. All you have to do is push some switches and collect 5 Hands of Sirius. In the end you come to a room with some very nice pictures on the wall. Found 1 secret. Playing time about 25 minutes." - Monika (21-Jun-2002)
"It's perfectly clear that the author is very talented as textures are concerned. The player will come in front of an extraordinary and colorful set of textures once again only this time a surprise is awaiting you. After collecting six hands five of them all together in one place you come to a room with the twelve zodiac signs on the walls. Unfortunately I can't say that I have the same impression about the gameplay. Although this is only a demo short one it resembles with a previous level of the author in action or enemies. As a matter of fact I see the same pattern. Maybe it is early to jump into a conclusion but this demo is preparing you for that. Let's hope that those beautiful surroundings are not going to be wasted by the absents of interest." - Kristina (21-Jun-2002)
