Reviewer's comments
"A brief visit to Egypt for Lara to go underground, shoot some ninjas, find a few artefacts and return to her jeep. Not much more than ten minutes of very easy gameplay - no puzzles, no timed elements and no real challenge to mention." - Jay (03-Aug-2018)
"The typical easy and short Egyptian level with the classic tasks: pull levers and place items to open doors, rope jumps, shoot vases to get pickups, some traps... This time there are also a mirror room and a flipmap. The worst the simple architecture with wafer thin walls, the bad placed objects and the rude texturization. Playable anyway." - Jose (17-Jan-2018)
"A very short level where Lara shoots a few ninjas, slides down a pole, collects a few eye pieces and a cartouche, pulls some levers and finishes. There's a nice mirror room and a booby trapped artefact, but otherwise it's an uninvolving and short (as mentioned) 12 minute level." - Ryan (12-Dec-2016)
"A fun level with unexpected situations and clever enemies, except don't let the revolver guy fall into the pillar. It's also quite atmospheric despite of careless texturing and intense shading, and though very brief it flawlessly balances infiltration, exploration, item capture and escape. SUMMARY: That moment when I search the bottom but I meet a little find I can recommend to everybody." - DJ Full (30-Jan-2016)
"Pretty much just your standard Egyptian debut level in terms of quality, with only a few clever tricks demonstrated by the builder in question. And that's it. So don't bother with this one, if you're especially tired of seeing the same ol' TR4 assets in action yet again." - Ceamonks890 (27-Jun-2015)
"Had the level farmer only now and again the desire to build? Or wanted he to build only something, so that also sometimes a level is listed from him? In any case, the result lies far under the average. One or two times one can see a more or less well built and textured room. But, unfortunately, this is the exception. Mostly one sees stretched textures and paper-thin walls. Well, at least one is after less than 10 minutes at the level end. However, this is already the only good news." - Scottie (10-May-2010)
"What you have here is one reasonably smart mirror room (minus Lara's reflection) and a good booby-trap. Other than that it's business as usual and absolutely nothing to write home about." - Orbit Dream (10-May-2008)
"I can see the idea behind this level, although it's not great. It's quite small, and a tiny download, so there's no need to cry on anyone's shoulders. Lara stands beside a jeep, and a flyby shows ninjas have come in their jeep, probably racing each other to the hole in the ground, down below which is a temple. It's in the desert and some columns are sticking up out of the sand. Slide down into the hole on a pole. Kind of reminded me of one of the Indiana Jones films. The first room you see is quite nicely done, some statues to move, doors to open, find two eyepieces. One of the rooms with the eyepiece is a mirror room, but the floor is fall-through, so it a tad confusing for a minute. After using this eye piece, you run to get another one with a mummy coming for you. When you pick it up the map changes to climbable blocks so you don't have to deal with the mummy at all, and can escape. There are problems with the level, but I think I'd moan a lot more about them if the download was a big one. Very short and straight forward." - CC (13-Aug-2004)
"This ten minute level is perfect for when you're wanting a short easy level to play and don't have very much time. You enter a temple through a hole in the desert and your objective is to find two halves of the cartouche and two halves of the Eye of Horus. Be sure to watch out for spikes, boulders and mummies along the way. You have to use all these objects to escape the temple but fortunately you find another Eye of Horus on the way out and all that's left is to get to your jeep." - RaiderGirl (17-Feb-2003)
"A ten minutes level with poor gameplay. One cartouche piece and two Eyes of Horus with one of them not used. Ninjas, mummies and a couple of scorpions will not give you much trouble as you get the revolver from the start and shortly the Uzi and shotgun. Going down, pushing three levers and opening doors to collect the puzzle items you need are the only actions here. One mirror that Lara couldn't see her image in it was weird, also the walls are paper thin. The level ends with Lara getting out of the temple which isn't much of a temple, to the light although it wasn't that dark down there." - Kristina (20-Dec-2002)
"Every level has a meaning in the big world of custom levels, without excluding this one, cause the author had tried to make the level, but it was rushed, like if the author wanted to finish the 'tutorial' (I can't find a different use for this level) as fast as he can and then go on to the real thing, not that his other levels so far are very brilliant too. Before you even think about downloading and playing this level, remember that there are far too many good levels out there to come back at such lousy (sorry, but I couldn't find another word for it) attempts as this one." - eTux (10-Dec-2002)
"An eight minute level of no great importance. You start above ground and end above ground with a few key pick ups to find underground, these unfortunately you practically trip over giving no challenge. This is one for the player who wants to collect every level ever produced." - Sash (05-Dec-2002)
"Very short and definitively a first from this author. Apart from falling through the floor, there are no other surprises in here. 16-10-2002" - Gerty (19-Oct-2002)
"This level lasted 6 and a half minutes from start to finish and it left me wondering, what the point of it was?" - Torry (01-Aug-2002)
"An obvious first attempt and in fact the author managed to read the manual well and put most of the stuff into the level that you learn there: darts, spikes, rolling ball, vases to shoot, objects to push, a flipmap, rope swing and even the mirror effect. Unfortunately, he also has most of those classic beginners mistakes, such as thin walls, illegal slopes, 'end-of-the-world' reachable and stretched, wallpaper like textures. Also, you get the revolver, the Uzi and the shotgun to battle four ninjas - maybe a little overdone. Find two eye pieces and the two halves of the cartouche and you will be done in 10 minutes. " - Michael (21-Jun-2002)
"This is the author's first level, and I really wasn't expecting anything above the average. Although this level is straight forward, with no real treats, and there are a lot of bugs, it can be classified as good for a first try. A storyline would fit fine, but let's just think Lara got inside it and wanted to raid. Lara must find the cartouche pieces and the eye of horus twice (one is the artifact that Lara will carry away), and they are not really hidden. It was over in less than 10 minutes. Now... as for the negative points, there are at least two wafer thin walls (it doesn't fit in this environment) and a mirror room with no mirror. I just realized it was a mirror when I died in the trap :-P." - Treeble (21-Jun-2002)
"This 10 minute level consists of picking up a few bits scattered at random in a few rooms. There isn't a lot of gameplay going on and there were a lot of thin walls about. Not a level I would recommend playing." - Doug E (21-Jun-2002)
"This was one of those levels that I, the minute it started, knew I wouldn't like. There are a lot of bugs (illegal jumps, wafer thin walls, you know, the usual), and the level, with its five minutes, isn't very exciting. The author has put a lot of different things in it (ropes, poles, a 'mirror', a booby-trap), but none of those are hard and could even be done by my brother (who couldn't finish the first level in Tomb Raider 4). There are also too many weapons for the enemies there are, and there is certainly no need for that much ammunition for the revolver. Oh, and I really hate it when doors open when you approach them, since there usually is no need to walk up to a closed door. Overall, a short and easy level that needed a lot more work." - Magnus (21-Jun-2002)
"Very short easy level. Nothing difficult to do. Reasonably good for such a small download." - Fairy Godfather (21-Jun-2002)
"This level is very short and reminds me of the first trials, when the editor was released. The initial section is full of the slope traps a beginner always seems to be prone (with later paper thin walls and floors). The two ninja are easily dealt with and loads of ammo and pistol are the results. The second section improved a little to give easy search and finds. The ending was rather disappointing. Only recommended to the really 'baby' player just out of nappies. If this is a first effort then continue to grow as a level builder." - Whistle (21-Jun-2002)
"A short level of 12 minutes with the usual tutorial stuff. Not uninteresting for a first level but there are some beginner mistakes like thin walls, or the two halves of the eye of Horus to pickup in the same room." - eRIC (21-Jun-2002)
"After finishing this 12 minute quickie I was tempted to take back what I said in a recent thread about never discouraging level builders to press on with their work. But instead I would like to advise the author to maybe put a little more effort into his next level. This here features almost every beginners mistake, too numerous to mention here and therefore would serve as great illustrative material if you like to demonstrate what one should avoid in a Custom Level." - Dimpfelmoser (21-Jun-2002)
