Sorry but I’m not going to play a level where I can’t save my game.

 

 

LEVEL 1 - CAVES

 

To the High East Side

After the fmv advance and shoot some bats, turn right to see a high opening with a slope below; jump to grab the crack in the right side of the slope, shimmy left, pull up and advance to pull the switch to open the next door. Continue to a large room where several wolves will attack. Forget the pool and go to the N and up to the white rocks in the NW corner; don’t go through the opening but jump back and forth to reach the high niche, turn around and take a running jump to the central platform, continue running and jumping from ledge to ledge in a clockwise direction until you reach the E side of the cave where a wolf awaits. Nothing more here than a closed doors, so go up the steps to the upper part of this area.

 

First Secret

If you want some extra pickups open the double doors in the NE corner (switch in the very corner) to find shotgun shells and a large medipack in a hole, but you’ll need to fight with more wolves. Anyway cross the wooden bridge to the W side, shoot a bunch of bats and pull the switch to open a door somewhere. For a secret: turn right and take a long running jump (no grab) to the grassy S ledges, continue up until you eventually find a hidden switch in a niche; pull it to open double doors somewhere and quickly (it’s timed) go back the way you came to the wooden bridge, cross it, run down the stairs to the middle floor and go to the NE corner to find the open doors and the SECRET #1: the Shotgun and shotgun shells. (To save time you also can jump from the bridge down to a platform in the right side just in front of the doors losing some health)

 

Spiked Room

One way or another jump into the pool in ground floor, look for an underwater crawlspace in the E wall, swim through and look for another crawlspace near the ceiling at middle way (there is a small medipack at the end of the path) and continue to the room with the open door. Walk slowly between the spikes and prepare the shotgun to shoot a nasty wolf at middle way; at the end of the spiked path jump back and forth to grab the edge above, shimmy right, pull up and continue jumping and climbing clockwise until you find an opening in a corner; go through, slide, pull the switch and drop into a room with a pool and a bear below. Pull the switch near the open trapdoor to see changes in the main room and go back there (via the pool or via the opening in the N wall).

 

Opening the Big Double Doors

Now you can access to the W side of the bottom part of the cave, enter in another big room where a horde of wolves will attack. If you want an extra pickup climb the blocks and jump to the high ledge behind the S columns, shoot a bear and climb the block in the corner to get shotgun shells. Now go down and jump to the high ledge behind the N columns (there’s a flatter tile in the big sloped surface), shoot a wolf and go E to the corner, climb the blocks and slide only a little bit so you can jump to land onto the first part of the breakable tile and take a running jump without stop to the safe ledge; cross the broken bridge and pull the switch at the other end to open a nearby door alerting a bunch of bats too. To go down you have two choices:

1.- With the secret: jump back to the E side of the bridge and from the rope that holds the bridge take a running jump NE with a right curve to reach the part of the ledge at the other side of the trunk that holds the ropes; go to the very high NE corner of this room and step onto the trigger tile to see a fire turning off somewhere. Safely drop onto the block below and go all the way E, to the NE corner to see that one of the fires in the high ledges has disappeared; jump to reach that ledge to pick up the SECRET #2: a small medipack and shotgun shells.

2.- Without the secret: I took a long running jump from the W side of the bridge to the N blocks (a wolf was waiting for me below).

 

Room with the Deep Pit

The open doors are in the E side, and the next task is really tricky: start to run when the first blade is going to the left side, jump to the next breakable tile but not from the very end so you can land, take a running jump without stop and grab the edge of the last breakable tile avoiding the second blade; quickly (bats) pull up and take a last running jump to the safe ledge with the closed doors. For an extra pickup: go to the NE corner, look up and see the crack in the wall; from the very left side and Lara against the wall facing N, use the keys “Ctrl + Up Arrow” so she jumps to grab the crack, shimmy right until you can pull up, go W and time the darts to pull the switch which opens the exit doors; on your way back take a running jump onto the last breakable tile (Lara will hit the ceiling) and another running jump without stop to grab the edge of the ledge with the large medipack. Exit, shoot a bear and run down the steps to finish the level.

 

 

LEVEL 2 – CITY OF VILCABAMBA

 

Underwater Business

Advance a bit to trigger several wolves. Run down the steps and right-right to find a switch in the corner; pull it to release a croc and trigger a door in a pool (for later). Go back to the steps and to the S side always left to find another recess with another switch to pull (camera shot of the same pool with another croc; for later). Go E and a bit to the right to find that pool, shoot the crocs, jump into the water and swim through the opening always to the left, pull the UW lever at the end and again swim always to the left to find the open door (1 of 4), continue swimming always left to find an air hole where you can take a breath. Again, swim always left to find another UW lever next to a closed door; pull it and swim back to the air hole. Swim back to the pool with the dead crocs, take a breath and swim back again to the UW maze, the door (2 of 4) you opened with the last lever is just in front of the entrance; continue swimming following the only possible path until you find another UW lever next to a closed door (another air hole in the ceiling here), pull it and swim all the way back to the initial pool. From the start, swim now left at the junction, and always to your right to find the open door (3 of 4) and another UW lever to pull, swim back to the entrance to take a breath and swim straight ahead to the very end to find the last open door (4 of 4); at the very end of the UW passage there is another UW lever to pull (camera shot of a door opening somewhere), swim back to the air hole, back to the initial pool and surface.

 

First Gold Idol

The last lever opened the door of the building in the NW corner, go there, shoot a couple of wolves and pick up the first Gold Idol (1 of 4). Now go to the back side of this building (very NW corner) and look up to see a slope in its corner, facing W take a jump back onto that slope and immediately forth to a niche covered with vegetation in the wall, turn around and jump to the roof of the building to get the SECRET #3: a large medipack and automatic pistols ammo. Drop down to ground floor and this time go to the big building in the NE corner, it has two openings to go inside in the W side. Go through either opening, shoot a bear and look for a wall switch behind one of the wooden pillars, pull it to open a door above. One of the blocks in the corner has a ring; it’s movable, pull/push it to the other side of the room so you can climb to the high ledge and to the door you opened moments ago; shoot some bats.

 

The Silver Key

Take a running jump to the W platform and shoot more bats, climb the blue rocks in the right side, drop/grab the edge and shimmy right to reach the other side of this structure where you can pull a wall switch to open a door somewhere. Slide down to ground floor and go to the W nearby pool, shoot the croc, jump into the water, pick up the shotgun shells near a corner and swim through the opening with the open door. Go up through the opening in the ceiling, shoot a bat and pick up the Silver Key on the wooden platform, shoot two wolves and exit stepping onto the gray tile in front of the door.

 

Second Gold Idol

If you want an extra pickup go right and left to the S building with the blocks with the greenery on top in front of it to shoot a wolf and get a small medipack. Anyway go inside the building in the very SE corner with the entrance protected by teeth doors and shoot several bats, pick up the shotgun shells and look for a switch in a corner to open a door somewhere. Go back to the pool with the dead crocs leading to the UW maze you visited before, jump into the water and this time swim through the opening in the floor, continue swimming always to your right to find the open door and an UW lever which opens a trapdoor somewhere; swim back to the main area.

 

The open trapdoor is in the roof of the building where you pulled the last wall switch, so go back again to the building in the very SE corner with the entrance protected by teeth doors and climb to the roof. Jump to the ledges attached to the E wall and follow the path to reach the high red ledge above the exit door, shoot the bats, pick up a small medipack and also the second Gold Idol (2 of 4). Go back down to ground floor the way you came.

 

Room with the Deadly Pool

Now go to the very E side of this main area and up the steps to see that you need two more idols to open the exit doors, go left and use the silver key to open the next door; enter and shoot a wolf, advance to a room with a deadly pool. Take a running jump over the spikes to the safe part of the next ledge, a next running jump to the next one and shoot a horde of bats; for the next ledges take standing jumps from the W borders losing some health to grab the edges and so reach the switch in the corner; pull it to open a door somewhere and go back to the entrance the way you came using the same tactics.

 

Third Gold idol

Once in the main area turn right and if you want an extra pickup go behind the fat pillar to shoot a bear and get a small medipack. Anyway, from here go S between the buildings to find the open door next to the S wall and also two wolves. Enter, shoot another wolf and push the obvious movable block twice inside the room, climb the ledge and pull a second movable block once so you can climb it to access to the roof of this building. For a secret: don’t climb that block yet, go around to the W wall to discover a wall switch the movable block was hiding, pull it (it’s timed) and quickly go up to the roof and take a running jump to the raised trapdoor in the W wall to get access to the opening with the SECRET #4: a large medipack and 2 X automatic pistols ammo. Go back to the top of the roof where you came from.

 

Go to the N side and climb the gray block, cross the bridge to the next roof and pick up the third Gold Idol (3 of 4), go back to the previous roof and drop through the hole (from a corner; fire below) and shoot a wolf, move the block to the opposite wall onto the marked tile to see a door opening somewhere, exit this room and shoot the bear.

 

Fourth Gold idol

The open door is in the E side of this area, just to the right of the exit door where you must place the 4 idols; go there, shoot several bats and enter. Advance and find yourself into the room with deadly waters you’ve visited before, but this time in the N side, jump over the hole and go up the ramp; when the rolling boulder falls, quickly turn right and drop/grab the edge to save your life, pull the switch to open a door outside. Go back to the main area and turn left, go to the NE corner with the grassy floor and the bright plants and climb the gray rocks to reach the open door high up in the E wall, continue running and jumping in a clockwise direction (the last running jump without grab, shoot some bats too) until you find the roof of the W building where the fourth Gold Idol (4 of 4) is. Make your way to go down to ground floor. Now you already know what to do: go to the E side of this main area, place the idols to open the doors and cross the bridge, jump over the gap to avoid the rolling boulders, time the darts, the swinging blades and the next rolling boulders and slide down the watery ramp to finish the level.

 

 

LEVEL 3 – LOST VALLEY

 

Movable Blocks Puzzle

The waters are not deadly so don’t worry about the fiery aspect of them. Preparations for a secret: go left, turn left and climb the rock to see a different tile on the floor with a face texture (1 of 5), step on it to open a door (no camera shot) for later. Now approach to the border of the cascade and shoot some bats, jump into the pool below to alert a croc, get out of the water and kill it; I found nothing interesting in the pool except a missing texture, so go to the S side of this room and note that there are several marked tiles in the floor where the movable blocks are; move them onto that patterned tiles to open the exit door.

 

[Note:] I found a bug here; there are 6 blocks, two of them are fake blocks so only 4 are movable. Facing the exit door and from left to right, the first time I tried this task I moved the 1st, the 3rd and the 4th, leaving the 2nd one to the end; that way Lara refused to move this last block, so I got stucked forever. What I did was reload an old savegame and move this second block first, this way I could move it and I could continue playing. [End note]

 

Timed Run

In the next room advance and when the rolling boulder comes take sidejumps onto the slopes to avoid it. At the end of the path go right and walk through the spiked corridor to the very end to find another of those face tiles to step on (2 of 5) and get the secret later. Go back to the safe path, shoot the croc in the opening and pull the wall switch to open a nearby door in the ledge above; unfortunately it's timed so don't waste time and take a running jump to the sloped block at the other side of the way and jump to the top of the pillar attached to the S wall, climb the gray ledge up in the corner and continue running and jumping clockwise until you reach the ledge with the (hopefully) open door.

 

On the Roof

Once you're successful, beware of the rolling boulder in the next corridor, run up the ramp to the place where it fell and climb up (facing S) through the opening in the ceiling; before you exit through the W opening, look in the SE corner of this roof for another of those face tiles to step on (3 of 5). In the room with the spikes on the floor simply jump to the top of the first block and jump/slide from slope to slope to the other side of the room. Go out to the valley.

 

First Machine Cog

Immediately up to four raptors will attack, dispatch them and from the entrance go left to the E side of this huge area and advance N a bit until you find a block to your left you can climb, do it so and climb even higher to the ledge with the grated windows, climb the purple rock and jump onto the S slope, slide/grab the edge, shimmy left until you can pull up and continue counterclockwise to the higher white river. On the tile with the skeleton pick up the first Machine Cog (1 of 3); continue S and climb the rock at the end, turn left and spot the fourth face tile (4 of 5) next to the grated windows and take a long running jump there (no grab).

 

Opening a Door for a Cog

Drop to ground floor and go to the W side of this big area, soon a T-Rex and three raptors will be alerted; make your way to kill them and continue to the W, to the area where all they came from, go to the very end and look for a block with a sloped top you can climb near the SW corner; from its top run and jump E to the next ones until you eventually reach a high ledge with a wall switch behind the corner; pull it to open a door somewhere (***) and also release another T-Rex. Make your way to drop down and kill the beast.

 

Pool with Broken Bridge

Now go to the N nearby pool with the broken bridge above, shoot the crocs, jump into the water and swim to the NW corner, look for an UW level at the back of a pillar and pull it to see a door opening somewhere. Go out of the water and in a S or S-SE directions to find that two doors opened in the S building. I was through the right one first.

 

Connected Rooms with Several Switches

Enter and hear how several raptors come from outside, shoot them and go to the W room, pick up the shotgun shells and continue to a third room, pull the wall switch in the back side of the block to your left, run up the nearby steps and from the opening to your left take a running jump to the ledge straight ahead, pull the switch, pick up a large medipack and jump back to the previous room, pull the switch in the E window and go back to the previous room, jump to the E ledges and pull another switch, go to the E room, down the steps and find a last switch to pull in the E wall: a door opens somewhere but a T-Rex is alerted too so don't trust because the big reptile can cross through the small opening from outside. Once you defeated it go outside the building, N towards the pool, right (W) and left (N again) to find the open door near the corner.

 

Second Machine Cog

Follow the short passage, climb the rocks to your left and cross the bridge, shoot the raptors in the next room and continue outside to get the second Machine Cog (2 of 3), retrace your steps to the room where the raptors were and this time climb the opening in the corner from the right side, slide and jump with a right curve to avoid the spikes below. Go SW to find the last face tile (5 of 5) behind the tall pillar, step onto it to open a nearby door below and get the lonely secret in this level.

 

The Skull Key

But don't drop down yet, go back to the tile with the spikes and from the nearby E block take a running jump to the E rocks, climb to the very top and save your game in front of the timed switch, pull it, turn left and drop to ground floor, jump to grab the crack at the right side of the trapdoors and shimmy all the way left before they lower to get the Skull Key (no name for this key in the inventory).

 

Third machine Cog

Now it's time to collect the remaining prizes: drop from this niche and look for the nearby open door and shoot the croc to get the SECRET #5: a small medipack and 3 X shotgun shells. Do you remember the door you opened a long time ago with the high wall switch (***)? Looking N from the nearby white river there's a niche in the rocks next to a tall plant to the left of the palm tree, go inside to find the open door and the third Machine Cog (3 of 3); kill the raptors when going outside.

 

Placing the Machine Cogs

Time to place the cogs; go to the E wall and advance a bit S until you find flatter gray rocks you can easily climb; from the top jump to a high opening in the wall and continue to the next room, shoot the croc and the raptors, pick up 2 X shotgun shells in a window sill and go to the other side (NE corner), open the door with the key, place the cogs to open the next doors and pull a last switch to get a camera shot of the beginning of the level; go back to the previous room and slide to the first pool: the cataract in the N side is now open; get out of the water there and go down the steps to the next room but stop at middle way because the next task is a bit tricky. You'll need to run and jump twice and go left or right in last moment to take refuge  in one of the recess in the NW or NE corners of the room before being smashed by multiple rolling boulders. Once you get it advance N (more boulders are released) to finish the level.

 

 

LEVEL 4 – TOMB OF QUALOPEC

 

The Hub Room

Slide and jump in last moment over the spikes, continue sliding and jumping with left curves to land onto a flat ledge next to the S wall if you are lucky. In the room with the spiked pit jump from block to block to cross to the other side and shoot the wolves when you get there. You are now in a "hub room" and you can go N or E now, but in the E room there are only closed doors so you must go down the ramp in the N side.

 

Lake Room

For a secret: slide down backwards and grab the edge at the end, shimmy right and pull up to get the SECRET #6: 3 X shotgun shells and a small medipack. Jump into the water, swim to the SW corner, grab the lower edge of the slope touching the water, pull up and quickly jump back landing onto a flat ledge; continue climbing and once at the top jump to grab an invisible crack in the W wall, shimmy left and drop when you're over the slope, slide/jump and grab the edge of the safe floor. Continue and take the next running jump with no grab, climb the blocks and when you are in front of the high opening leading to the lake, turn around and jump back so you slide backwards, grab the edge, shimmy right and pull up; roll, take a running jump over the slope and continue clockwise until you find a closed door. The switch to open it is behind the triangular opening in the left side so you know what to do. A bit further there is a closed door, approach to the border and facing S take a sidejump right onto the E slope, slide/grab the edge and shimmy right until you can pull up, look for the nearby switch to open a door in the hub room but also the door you saw moments ago, so climb the N ledge, take a running jump to the N slope and repeat the same movements to reach that open door. Drop down through the hole backwards and return to the hub room.

 

The Mummy Room

Run straight ahead to a room with an inactive mummy, there are openings in the NE and NW corners protected by teeth doors, pull both switches behind them and shoot the mummy. Those switches opened the doors in the S and E walls; approach to the switch in the S wall and drop into a room with a lake.

 

Movable Pillars Room

Swim to the S side of the room and look for an UW opening with a lever; pull it to move a block above; now get out of the water and climb the blocks in the NE corner, take a running jump to the W pillar and jump right (note the marked tile to your left, to open the exit for later), drop/grab the edge and shimmy right until you can pull up, drop onto the top of the block below, take a running jump to the block that has been moved, jump to grab another crack, shimmy right, pull up and climb the block with the switch above; this switch moves another block in this room, revealing another wall switch, so go down and pull it to move a third block. Climb again the blocks in the NE corner and repeat the same movements, after the first crack take a standing jump to land onto the top of the block that has been moved with the last switch and a final standing jump S through the cascade in the wall.

 

Room with Several Switches

In this new room shoot two wolves and pull the switch 1 to lower blocks at your back, pull the next switch 2 to lower one more block and reveal switch 3, pull it; now pull again switch 2 to open a way to reach switch 4, pull this one and finally pull again switch 2 and switch 1 to open a way to reach switch 5. Pull this switch to raise a door somewhere; to go back to the mummy room go to the previous pool room, get out of the water and climb the blocks in the NE corner as you did before, take a running jump to the W pillar and jump right, step onto the marked tile to your left to open the exit door, take a standing jump to the opening near the corner, pull the switch to open the next door, advance and the last door automatically opens.

 

Lake Area After the River

Note that one of the gray tiles in the central structure has a fire. Go through the E opening with the raised door, slide and let the current takes you to another lake area. Get out of the water E and follow the only possible path to the wall switch in the NE corner, pull it to raise an UW door in the central structure; swim there and climb to the highest block, take a long running jump (no grab) to the green N ledge and quickly drop/grab the edge to avoid a rolling boulder. Go to the corner where the boulder stopped, jump onto the ledge to its right and finally take a running jump to the orange block next to the top of the cascade. For an extra pickup you can jump to the ledge where the small medipack is, at the other side of the river, and jump back. Now your goal is to go up the river running and jumping using the ledges the best you can (when you find rocks with spikes, walk and use only standing jumps) until you reach another cascade; to its right there is a ledge and a ramp where a rolling boulder will drop, quickly jump back to the rock in the middle of the river to avoid being smashed. At the top of the ramp pull the wall switch to see a golden door raising somewhere; go back to the “mummy room” and note that another of those gray tiles in the central structure has a fire.

 

Huge Room with Many Spikes

Now exit N to the hub room with the dead wolves and left to the room with the raised golden doors; look for a wall switch over a block and pull it to raise a door in the mummy room, go back there and find it in the W side.

 

Find yourself in a very huge room where you’ll be welcomed by several raptors, note the numerous trapdoors all around the walls, locate the switch under the central red arch and save your game for a difficult timed run (fortunately you can save the game when doing it). Pull the switch and go N, jump onto the gray and stone blocks and without stop, right onto the first solid ledge; now continue running and jumping aaaaaaall around the room onto the raised trapdoors (there’s a very tricky jump near the W wall because the low ceiling) until you reach a safe ledge in the SE corner; advance, shoot a couple of raptors and jump to the top of the pillar attached to the E wall, climb up to the higher ledges with skull textures and shoot the bats, continue S jumping over the spiked trenches and save the game in front of the timed switch in the corner. Pull it and jump back, jump over the block with the switch and make your way to run and jump onto the next timed trapdoors until you reach a safe platform in the SW corner with another switch. Shoot the bat.

 

One More Timed Run

Again, this switch is timed too, so pull it and retrace your steps to the E side of the room with the spiked trenches; this time go to the central part in the right side and to the bridge leading to the central structure, when you’re successful pull the switch to raise another of those golden doors somewhere and also release a T-Rex at the bottom of the room. Make you way (not difficult) to go back to the hub room with the dead wolves the way you came.

 

Exiting the level – The Scion

Note that before the hub room, three fires in the mummy room are now lighting the gray tiles. Once in the hub room, go through the E opening and soon you’ll find a pool room with a pedestal on the central part with the Scion. When you pick it up an earthquake starts, jump into the water and swim through an opening in the E wall, time the teeth doors and swim until you can surface. In the cave, try to avoid the falling debris and approach to the spiked pit, take a running jump over it trying to land onto the far side of the slope, slide and jump to a safe floor. Shoot a flying mummy in the next corridor and advance until you find the well-known lake of the TR1 game (Lost Valley), jump into the lake, go out of the water and fight with Larson, when you win, watch the cutscene and the next level loads.

 

 

LEVEL 5 – NATLA TECHNOLOGIES

 

Into the Ducts

Jump to the opening just in front of you and shoot the bats and the rats; advance to the very SE corner and run up the steps to the upper ledges; in the NE corner there's an opening with a broken grate you can climb. Into the ducts, drop/grab the edge and shimmy left, use the crack to cross the pit with the barbed wires and at the end of the path a trapdoor will low; shoot a horde of rats and pull the wall switch in the E niche, more rats to kill; jump to the niche in the W wall, pull the switch, shoot the last bunch of rats and now the exit door in the S wall is open.

 

Movable Blocks

At the end of the corridor, push the movable crate only once, turn left and push the second movable crate once too, go around this crate to get a large medipack. Now move the first crate onto the tile were the medipack was, pull the other crate out and aside to clear the way so you can get access to the corridor.

 

[Note:] There's another bug here, I pulled that crate once E and then I tried to pull it once N to clear the way, but I've got many problems to do this; Lara refuses to pull this crate N and I had to pull it from different positions until I was able to do it. [End note]

 

Run to the end of the corridor and pull the switch to raise a trapdoor somewhere, slide down the ramp to find yourself in the first areas of this level.

 

Timed Trapdoor

The raised trapdoor is in the S wall, now you can move the wooden crate E or W to reveal a wall switch, pull it to open a door in the high NW corner of this room; go there and pull the switch in the niche to open a door in the high NE corner of this room, go there shooting several rats on your way up and pull the switch in the niche to raise a trapdoor in the SW corner of this room. This is a timed trapdoor, so quickly take a running jump SE to the metal ledge and run and jump all around counterclockwise to reach that raised trapdoor (this timed run is tight), pull the switch in the niche to trigger a flipmap and fill rooms at the bottom.

 

Underwater Business

Shoot the rats in the water and follow the water canal S and W until you find a pit, dive deeper and look for an UW lever to open a nearby door, swim there and look for another UW lever to pull, it opens a door in the main room, so swim back there to see that there's a wall switch inside; conclusion: you must do the tight timed run again to raise the trapdoor and dry the room. When you get it, pull that wall switch inside the niche to open the exit door high up in the NE corner, go there and enter into the ducts.

 

Lounge Area

Jump/slide/jump over the pits and in the storage room push the movable block all the way to the E, place it between the others so you can climb it and pull the block in the corner once, revealing a switch to open the exit door. Once in the corridor go right and shoot the white enemy in the lounge, near the world map in the wall pick up the Access Pass and go back to the corridor to use it next to the white door (red keyhole). Enter and shoot another of those white enemies, pull the switch in the corner to deactivate the lasers in the lounge. In the next corridor a door opens and another enemy will attack, go to the room where he came from (the armory) to pick up a large and small medipacks, 5 X shotgun shells, the automatic pistols and 4 X automatic pistols ammo; back to the corridor go left, shoot a couple of enemies and one of the white doors automatically opens.

 

First Floor

Run up the stairs, shoot another enemy and trespass the opening leading to the first floor offices; here another door will open, soot another enemy and pull the switch to open a door in the NW corner of the corridor, go there and pull another switch, shoot another enemy and locate the new open door in the corridor, enter and pick up a new Access Pass, go out and down the stairs to the bottom floor, open the door just in front of the room with the stairs, shoot another enemy and pick up the Elevator Key on the white table. There is a switch behind the plant in the corner too, pull it to get a secret later.

 

The Elevator

Go back up the stairs to the first floor and use the key to open the door in the NE side of the corridor, opposite that door is the door you opened with the last switch, enter to get the SECRET #7: a large medipack. Anyway, go to the other room, move the box to the center of it, pull the switch to open the trapdoor in the ceiling and climb to finish the level and trigger a cutscene.

 

 

LEVEL 6 – ST. FRANCIS FOLLY

 

Timed Run

Advance and shoot a lion, the yellow block in the NW corner is movable, so move it to the end of the path; now go to the S side of the church and shoot another lion, to the left of the double doors there is a timed switch, so save your game, pull it and run back to the N side, climb the yellow block, jump to grab the crack in the pillar, shimmy left and pull up. Turn around and take a running jump to grab the crack in the next pillar, again, shimmy left and pull up; now jump to the ledges attached to the W wall and quickly to the safe ledge in the corner, from here take a running jump to the roof above the entrance, continue jumping onto the ledges attached to the E wall and take a final jump to the niche in the fat pillar with the shotgun shells; from here you can take a running jump to the central platform with the balustrade.

 

Detour for a secret: to get the lonely secret in this level forget the shotgun shells and run and jump directly to the central platform, from here go to the right side and jump over the balustrade to land onto the first of the ledges attached to the E wall, continue jumping to the very last one and turn around to see a crack in the fat pillar; from here take a tricky running jump with a left curve to grab it, shimmy right and pull up to get the SECRET #8: a large medipack, 2 X shotgun shells and 2 X automatic pistols ammo. Safely drop to the floor losing some health and repeat the timed run to reach the high central platform.

 

Pierre Room

This time take a running jump to the niche with the switch and pull it to open the exit doors, safely drop to the floor and in the next room you'll find two gorillas and Pierre, move the yellow block onto the marked tile in the SW corner to open a trapdoor in the central part of the room, and don't forget the small medipack behind the block next to the E wall. Drop through the hole, shoot some bats and pick up the small medipack of the skeleton, drop through the next hole but this time beware of the spikes below.

 

First Tasks in the Tower

Run up the stairs and be received by two lions, pick up the large medipack behind one of the yellow columns and in the next room shoot a horde of bats. Sure that there are many different ways to do the tasks here, but I did it my way to save time and don’t go many times up and down needlessly. Drop through the central hole onto the sloped block below, take a running jump to the top of the W pillar and to the switch in the corner to move a grate somewhere, jump back to the previous block and if you want that small medipack under the ledge of the central structure, take a diagonal running jump with grab so you can’t grab the edge and land onto the flatter tile with the pickup; slide down the ramp to your left to the lower level.

 

Opening the Ares Door

Now go to the E side and jump up to the NE ledge attached to the E wall (above the Ares door), jump to the sandy block in the corner, climb the next one and jump to the bottom of the ramp with the rolling boulder; trigger it and drop/grab the edge to avoid the danger, continue climbing until you reach the niche with the switch behind the grate you sure saw when entering into this area time ago; shoot a bat and pull it to open the Ares Door.

 

Opening the Hades Door

Now go back to the central structure the way you came, to the same lower level; go to the W side of this level and from the left side (facing the cascade) turn around, drop/grab the edge and shimmy left to a niche with another switch, pull it to open the Hades Door, shoot some bats and go back to the E side.

 

Opening the Athena Door

Jump back to the two tiles-ledge above the Ares door but this time slide down the S ramp from its left side, jump with grab at the end so you go through the hole and turn a bit right in last moment so you slide backwards and grab the edge of the slope, shimmy left to find the door you opened time ago. Pull this switch to open the Athena Door. Try to shoot the lions from here.

 

Safely drop to ground floor (I ran off the edge with grab to land onto the niche with the Ares keyhole) and approach to the lake, shoot the crocs and jump into the water, look for the Hades Door in the SW corner.

 

The Hades Door

Swim through the UW passage and note the air hole on your way to the cave with the closed door, opposite that door there is an UW crawlspace leading to a lever to open that door. In the next cave swim through the hole in the floor and soon you’ll drop into a slope in a lava room, slide and jump to the safe ledge. Shoot several bats and take a running jump to grab the crack in the N wall, shimmy to the right and drop onto a slope, slide and jump/slide several times until you land onto a flat block. Go N and to the part of the cave behind the crack, jump onto the blocks, turn left and take a running jump to grab the crack again, shimmy right this time, drop onto a safe ledge, shoot some bats and jump to the block in front of the building.

 

In the next room the purple pools are deadly, so jump to the right side, pull the switch in the corner and don’t think about take a running jump to the other side of the pool, you must jump to the entrance and then to the other side. Climb the block with sloped top in the E wall and climb even higher, shoot the bats and find the trapdoor you opened with the switch, climb to the upper part of the room, run up the ramp and jump to the niche in the W wall, drop/grab the edge and drop/grab the crack below, shimmy right, drop onto the slope, jump, land onto another slope and take a final jump behind the grate with the switch; save the game (it’s timed), pull it and quickly climb up the ledge where you landed after the last slope (take a sidejump left, turn right and jump to grab the edge) and use the raised trapdoors (don’t grab them, but directly take standing jumps) to reach the higher structure; when you are success, beware of the rolling boulder, jump over the slope and pick up the Hades Key; the door opens and you can go back to the pool via the air hole you used before.

 

Opening the Poseidon Door

Once you exit the UW passage, swim straight ahead a bit and get out of the water in the ledge just in front of you (SW corner), go N and take a running jump over the waters to the ledge next to the Hades door, advance, shoot a lion and at the end of the path take a running jump to the central island with the switch to open the Poseidon Door. Jump into the water and swim back to the area where you have to use the 4 keys (the bottom of the tower).

 

The Ares Door

Start climbing the tower from the block in the NE corner; from here you can jump to a taller block and climb to the first level of the tower. Turn around and take a running jump to the opening with the “Ares” sign (E wall). Enter and find a room with spiked floor. Advance N and shoot a couple of gorillas (beware of the trapdoors in the floor, they are deadly). Pull the switch in the N wall and be careful now because the swords can fall from the ceiling. Shoot two lions and go to the S side of the room; the open door is in the E wall. Pull a second switch and shoot two lions, a gorilla and some bats. Now go back to the N side of the room and look for the raised trapdoor under the high switch in the NE corner (there are shotgun shells under it), climb and pull it, but immediately jump back before the trapdoor lowers. At this moment Pierre appears again, so shoot it from the distance until he disappears. Now go back to the S side of the room and locate another raised trapdoor under the high switch in the SW corner, pull it and quickly take a sidejump to your left before it lowers. A last door opened in the SE corner, near the entrance, jump there, time the swinging blades in the corridor and finally get the Ares Key and go back to the tower.

 

The Poseidon Door

Climb to the second floor and go to the N ledges and clockwise jumping from ledge to ledge, sliding, etc. until you reach the opened Poseidon door. Shoot the croc in the pool, jump into the water and swim until you eventually find a niche with a lever; pull it, swim back to the pool room. But… where is the open trapdoor? Look up to the ceiling and spot it at the top of the water pillar; so jump into the water pillar, swim up and pull the switch in the small room to open a door below (to the right looking to the entrance); pull another switch in that niche to dry the pool so now you can jump onto the block and climb the other side to pull the switch there. Now jump into the second water pillar, swim up and pull another switch to open a door somewhere, go outside and re-use the switch in the niche to fill the pool. Go down, jump into the pool and look for that UW lever (S side) you saw in the last camera shot, pull it to open a door in the room over the water pillar, go back there, pull another switch, go down, use again the switch in the niche to change the position of the water column, jump inside, swim up and pull a last switch to open a door somewhere in the now dry pool. There’s no need to fill the pool now, drop down, go S, jump over the slope to your left and go left (N) to find the open door and get the Poseidon Key. Go all the way back to the exit and from the ledge outside take a long running jump to the second level of the tower.

 

The Athena Door

Go E and jump again onto the ledge above the Ares door, turn left and take a running jump to grab the left side (not the very left) of the edge of the high S slope, pull up, slide and jump in last moment with a right curve to land onto the ledge with the automatic pistols ammo, walk a bit, drop/grab the edge and shimmy left to reach the open Athena door. Inside, read the message in the big stone to your left to know the hint about what letters use to open the next door. The secret word is “OLIVE” so step only onto the “O” in the first row, the “L” in the second row, the “I” and the “V” in the third row and the “E” in the last row (you can walk onto the rows without letters); the door should open and we can get the Athena Key. Go back outside and to go down drop/grab the edge of the entrance, shimmy right, pull up walk to the place where the automatic pistols ammo was, slide and jump with grab so you don’t grab the edge of the bricked slope but land onto the slope below, slide/grab the edge and safely drop to the floor.

 

Room with Blue Rays

Use the four keys in its respective keyholes to open the double doors, shoot the lion and the gorillas, move the yellow blocks onto the patterned tiles to open the next doors, slide down the ramp and first enter into the Asclepius room to pick up 4 X small medipacks and 4 X large medipacks (you’ll need them), approach to the room with blue rays and floating tiles. In this room if you are hit by a blue ray it doesn’t mean instant death if you are at full health, but you’ll lose a lot of health so try to use all the medipacks you need when you see the health bar is low. Drop/grab the edge and shimmy left, drop onto the slope and pull the switch (1 of 4), climb the block in the corner, jump to grab the crack and go back to the entrance the same way. A door should be open in the SW corner, so use the floating tiles to go there, pull the switch in the niche (2 of 4) and use the tiles again to reach the safe platform with the exit door. The next switch is opposite that door in the gray wall, so this time you don’t need to use the floating tiles, simply take a running jump to the niche, pull it (3 of 4) and jump back to the platform. The last switch is very difficult to reach; it’s in a niche in the very NE corner of the room, so make your way to go there using the floating tiles, wasting medipacks and saving the game in between when possible, pull the switch (4 of 4) and go back to the platform with the exit door. Advance to finish this long and complex level.

 

 

LEVEL 7 – COLOSSEUM

 

The Tartarus Key

Advance and shoot the lions, pick up the large medipack, read the text on the big stone and go to the opening in the NE corner. In the Cronos room go left and move the white block so you can reach the high niche with the switch in the corner, pull it to open an UW door somewhere. Go back out and jump into the big pool, locate the open door in the SW corner, swim inside the corridor and pull the lever to open the nearby door, continue swimming and try to avoid the croc while you look for a passage where you can surface (near the ceiling) and shoot it. Pull the timed switch to raise one of the three bars door in this room, go there, step first onto the marked tile to re-open the door, quickly pull the switch, take a sidejump left and run before the doors close. In this second room I pulled the switch first and then stepped onto the marked tile; exit and run to the third room. Here pull the timed switch first to open an UW door, step onto the tile to re-open the door and quickly exit, jump into the water hole and swim as fast as you can to find the open door near the entrance of this UW room, pick up the Tartarus Key and swim back to the big pool, go back to the entrance area using the steps in the E side.

 

Traveling to the Past

Go back to the room with the movable block turn right this time jump to the N opening and use the key to open the door. In this room pull the switch but don’t drop into the hole, go back to the previous room to see that the Cronos door is now open, jump there and slide a long slope to find yourself in the Colosseum but now in the past, thousands of years ago.

 

Bridge Room

Shoot the gorilla and pick up the large medipack; facing the bridge go to the right side and run down the steps to the very bottom, shoot the lions and the gorillas and go to the W side, look for a wall switch between the pillars and pull it to open the nearby door. Enter and go right to pull another switch, go out, back up the steps and this time cross the bridge to find the open door. If you want a small medipack, before entering go right and locate it in the last niche behind one of the columns.

 

The Arena

Anyway enter, shoot two gorillas and for another small medipack go to the far SE corner, in the stands, behind a big pillar. Drop onto the arena, shoot the lions and move the white block onto the marked tile to reveal an UW lever and also open the door in the SE corner.

 

Detour to get a secret later: go to the NW corner and pull the switch under maintenance to get a secret later, when we are back in the future.

 

Up to the Noble Area

Go to the open door in the SE corner, enter and shoot two gorillas in the long corridor, go to the second opening to your left, jump onto the safe ledges left, jump to grab the crack and shimmy all the way right, drop, jump onto the higher ledge and through the opening in the ceiling, shoot the bats and drop through the hole in the corner. Push the white block once and step onto the gray tile to open the door, shoot the gorilla and the lions, use one of the switches to open the other door and enter. Inside, move the block to the corner so you can climb it and reach the top of the tall block, go through the opening in the ceiling and climb the next ledges to the noble area of the arena zone; pull the switch in the bricked block to close trapdoors in the ceiling of the room with the bridge. Go back down to the room with the pipes and exit through the NW corridor, pick up 2 X shotgun shells at the end and you are now back in the arena. Shoot more lions.

 

Returning to the Future

Climb up to the stands and go to the NE corner where a door is now open, jump into the water hole, let the current takes you and swim up when you get the control of Lara, get out of the water and continue to a purple hole with the Cronos name above. It’s time to get back to the future, so slide and drop into a familiar room.

 

The Arena Area

Go out to the room with the bridge and cross it to see that the arena area is now flooded, as usual shoot gorillas and crocs, jump into the water and swim to the NW corner to see that the switch under maintenance you used in the past, finally worked and opened the door with the SECRET #9: a small medipack, shotgun shells and automatic pistols ammo. Now pull the UW lever in the E wall to open the final door in the noble area of this arena zone. Do you remember how to go there? The same as you did in the past, exit through the SE corner (beware of the croc), to the room with the spiked floor, up through the hole in the ceiling, to the room with the movable block, up through the hole in the ceiling and climbing the bricked ledges. Opposite the bricked block with the switch is the open door to finish this interesting level.

 

 

LEVEL 8 – THE PALACE OF KINGS

 

Underwater Business

In the main courtyard two gorillas will attack; there are a couple of crocs roaming around in the pools too (all four pools in the corners are connected under the floors) so try to shoot them from above because there’s nothing to do in the courtyard at this moment except pick up the small medipack next to the entrance doors. Jump into the water and explore the large UW area to find an UW crawlspace near the SW corner, behind a plant; take a deep breath and swim through following the only possible path until you eventually reach a cave where you can take a breath, with fires at the top of the pillars. Swim between the NE pillars and always to your left when possible until you eventually find an UW lever (and a croc too), pull it to open double doors in the main courtyard and make your way to go back there.

 

Courtyard with Four Doors

The open doors are in the W side, advance to find a second courtyard with 4 closed doors. These doors have 5 Greek symbols in the upper part, and a bit further (W passage) there is a row of 5 wall switches (fight with several gorillas when going there) so you imagine what to do to open the doors. The hint is: the “ϒ” symbol means switch down and the “Ω” symbol means switch up. I started with the door in the SE corner first, but you can do it in any order.

 

Door ϒ Ω Ω Ω Ω

Position of the switches to open it: down-up-up-up-up.

Run down the ramp and stop just in front of the spiked pit, when the rolling ball approaches take sidejumps onto the slopes so it passes. Jump over the pit and shoot two lions, jump to the opening in the W wall to spot a wall switch in the distance; time the teeth doors and beware of the breakable tiles too to reach the room with the switch. Go back to the room with the rolling boulder (the teeth doors will be inactive this time). Now jump to the opening in the E wall, walk through the spikes and when the rolling boulders come jump left or right onto one of the lateral ramps; pull the switch and go back to the previous room. Finally jump to the S opening to get the first Lead Bar. Go back to the courtyard with 4 doors.

 

Door Ω Ω ϒ Ω ϒ

Position of the switches to open it: up-up-down-up-down.

You’ve already visited this room when pulling the first UW lever in this level, so try to not fall into the water. Jump over the first fire tile onto the ledge in the left side and pull the timed switch, roll and run to jump onto the first block without fire, continue running and jumping without stop when possible and after the series of jumps onto the slopes grab a crack in the wall and shimmy to the very end. In my game, at the end of the shimmy the last tile was on fire, so I had to pull up from the very left corner and lose some health. The next floor is deadly, so jump only onto the tiles which have a mark in the ceiling to cross to the other side and get the second Lead Bar. From the tile where the bar was, jump to grab the edge of the hole in the ceiling and cross the long corridor where a rolling boulder and several teeth doors are prepared to avoid your advance; the door at the end will open, step onto the breakable tile and go back to the courtyard with 4 doors via the water passage or jumping over the fire tile.

 

Door ϒ Ω Ω Ω ϒ

Position of the switches to open it: down-up-up-up-down.

In this mirror room jump only onto the safe tiles (the gray ones are deadly) to cross to the other side of the room (not so difficult as it seems, you can walk slowly onto the safe tiles and Lara will stop if she notes a deadly tile). The last safe tile is a bit difficult to see because it’s hidden by the yellow block. Once at the other side pull the switch to change the position of one of the yellow blocks and jump to its top to pull a second switch: the other block moves too. Jump onto the top of this last block and from the very NW corner take a hard standing jump S-SW to grab the edge of the high ledge, pull up, jump to the next one and get the third Lead Bar. Make your way to go back to the courtyard. (From the top of the block next to the E wall, simply take a running jump N)

 

Door ? Ω ϒ ϒ Ω

Position of the switches to open it: up-up-down-down-up. (There are only two choices to try here)

Enter and shoot three gorillas, go down the hole in the NW corner and shoot two lions, move both blocks once and the room above collapses. Go back up but not too far; jump over the slope near the hole you used to go down, take a standing jump to climb the tall block and from here even higher to the now broken bridge, take a running jump to the E part and from here another running jump to the opening above the entrance. Now jump to the bridge to your right (jump to the NE ledge too if you want the automatic pistols ammo) and push/pull the movable blocks so you can jump over them and cross to the other side.

 

For a secret: once at the other side, jump to the SW ledge and to the opening with the first column in the W wall to get the SECRET #10: a small medipack and 2 X automatic pistols ammo.

 

[Note:] Unfortunately I couldn’t get this secret because there’s another bug here: when Lara picks up the items (facing E, from behind the column) the screen turns black and I lost the control of Lara, so I was forced to reload an old savegame to continue playing. [End note]

 

Continue through the opening in the SE ledge leading to a room with spikes and some bats, grab the crack in the rocky wall to your right, shimmy left, pull up, turn around and take a standing jump to grab the edge of the tall block, jump to the next one, shoot another bat and take a running jump N to grab another crack, shimmy left, pull up, slide/jump over the next pit and at the end of the path jump through the hole in the ceiling to grab the edge above. Now take a running jump with grab trying to land onto the first part of the opening after the breakable tiles to avoid the rolling boulder and the teeth doors, time the doors and use the same tactic in the second and third parts of this dangerous corridor, trying always to stop in the first part of the openings, before the teeth doors; for the last part, run and jump in last moment onto the block in the left side, trying to avoid the last rolling boulder. Finally slide down the slopes with a jump in the penultimate one to reach the high balconies in the main courtyard.

 

Opening the Midas’ Doors

Advance S and from the top of the arch you can spot the receptacles for the golden bars (and a gorilla too), but we still don’t have those items, so from the top of the arch go up through the hole in the ceiling, take a running jump to the wide central ledge and from the very SE corner take a long running jump SE to the narrow corridor with the switch, pull it to open the Midas’ doors at the bottom of the courtyard. I found nothing in the E side with the greenery except a gorilla.

 

Last Gold Bar

To go down just jump into one of the pools below. Now go through the Midas’s doors, up the stairs and in the next courtyard shoot three lions. Go to the recess in the very W side and look into the darkness for the fourth Lead Bar. Note the golden hand fall of the great statue, approach from the N side and use the Ctrl key to convert the lead bars in Gold Bars. Go back to the main courtyard.

 

Last Secret

Detour for a secret: from the main courtyard go back W to the courtyard with four doors and a bit further to the corridor with 5 wall switches you used to open those doors; place the switches in this positions: up-down-up-up-up and go back to the room with the Midas statue: next to the hand a yellow block has moved so you can climb now to its top (from the E side). Climb the ledge with the balustrade and go to the S side of the statue; near the palm tree look for a wall switch attached to the red part of the statue to move the nearby yellow block, go to the place where the block was to get the SECRET #11: a large and small medipacks, 3 X uzi clips and the Uzis. Go back to the main courtyard shooting two golden lions on your way.

 

Placing the Gold Bars

Note that next to the central structure a yellow block has moved, so you can climb to its top and, theoretically jump S to the ledge with the receptacles for the gold bars, but if you get problems to take this running jump (like me) you always can jump to the W ledges and from there take a diagonal running jump to the ledge with the receptacles. Anyway, place all four gold bars and the doors below open (and also wake up the golden lions), drop down, advance S and the next doors automatically open.

 

Final Fight

Soon you’ll be received by two golden lions and one of the centaurs; when the calm is restored look for a wall switch near the fire in the SE corner, pull it to open the W door and trigger the other centaur too. Finally pull the last switch to open the E door and slide down the ramp to finish the adventure.
