Prof. Hardwicke is a colleague of Lara's with a rabid interest in the archaeology of Crete. He informs Lara that he has uncovered the fabled Labyrinth of King Minos, and that a key that had come to light at a nearby dig was one that would unlock the way into the Labyrinth proper. He tells her he plans to enter the labyrinth in order to recover the three legendary treasures thought to lie within - the Golden Star of Minos, the Golden Angel of Aphrodite, and the Golden Trident of Neptune. Unfortunately, he is never heard of again. After a few months, feeling that enough time has elapsed so that she won't be overstepping her colleague's territory, Lara decides that she'll have a go at the treasures. She arrives at the site where the entrance to the labyrinth is located, and dives right in. Her first task: to locate the remains of Prof. Hardwicke... |
