Wrangel Island has always been known for some strange phenomena: localized occurrences of aurora borealis, flashes of light in the sky, unnaturally strong winds, deep rumbling noises... During the Cold War, a research base was built on the island as the Soviet Union considered the island to be a source of great power. One day a blinding flash of light in the sky above the island caught Lara's attention. So bright it could even be seen from Alaska.
