Ash, the Lord of Libya and the God of the Oases and the vast vineyards in the western Nile Delta, held a revered status among the minor deities, cherished by the tribes of Egypt. To honor him, a magnificent garden near the city of Nebut was constructed.
During the Old Kingdom era, tranquility reigned among the gods, and the people enjoyed prosperity. However, chaos loomed as the cruel God Set clashed with Ash, aiming to transform the world into a desert. Unfortunately, Set emerged victorious, leaving Ash's lands parched and its waters tainted with blood. Yet, Ash's essence endured in the form of a spiritual plant in the garden. Set, fearing Ash's resurgence, buried the garden deep beneath the sands in Naqada (previously Nebut), to prevent Ash's return to life as long as Set endured.
Although Ash's courage was recognized, the Goddess Nut lamented his fate, erecting a small temple in his honor atop his burial site. Set refrained from dishonoring Nut, thus Ash's soul and garden were kept safeguarded under her venerable protection.
Centuries later, the malevolent Set met his demise, laid to rest beneath the pyramid of Giza by the
renowned explorer Lara Croft. With Set's powers diminished, Ash began to regain strength. Over time, life itself responded, with water flowing anew, oases flourishing once more, and Ash's buried gardens slowly reclaiming their former splendor.
Now, Lara Croft returns to Naqada in search of Ash's soul plant. |
