"Just a couple of days ago I've played another release from this same builder, also dated 2005, and I'm happy to report this is a much better effort. It's still not much of a level on its own, as it's very short, lots of big, boxy and empty rooms. The receptacle placement is still odd (just for one gem this time around), but it's not quite as illogical. 10 minutes. 10/21" - Treeble (24-Oct-2021) |

"Not bad, but really too short. The environments
weren't too badly constructed and there is some
gameplay, but there's just not enough." - Ryan (22-May-2017) |

"Practically the exact same as the builder's initial debut in terms of overall quality, with the only real differences being that the texturing and lighting have been slightly improved upon, the crowbar animation for yanking items off walls has been properly added in this time around and the general experience is roughly a few minutes shorter.
So if you somewhat liked 'Mystery of the Catacombs' beforehand, then here's more of it. And that's all which really needs to be said." - Ceamonks890 (09-Jul-2015) |

"So I am already surprised something about the low assessment. This level is really not so badly. Well, the lighting and the textures could be better. And he is quite short. But, nevertheless, it is to be played quite nicely. One or two rooms looks quite good and one finds on time the crossbow and explosive ammunition. Who has just a few minutes of time, is served here very well." - Scottie (04-Jun-2010) |

"A level of starting constructor is always difficult to judge, The decoration of places is minimal and the simplistic gameplay, a lever = a door etc... textures are not too badly applied but a little of variations one more for the person with a strong visual sense would be, the big uniform walls it is monotonous. Some progress still is to make for this author." - Daffy (29-Aug-2009) |

"I'm quite astounded that for a second level this one not only lasted for less time than the first level but that it only lasted at about 6 minutes at all. Surely at that length 'level' is too grandiose a term to be used. This is pretty much the same exact formula as the first catacomb level from this author but without any secrets (a minus), even less things to do (a minus), but at least a little ambience with the lighting for the last half (a tentative plus). And as the Talking Heads would almost sing...'we're on a pole to nowhere'...what was that climbing pole near the beginning of the level all about, I thought maybe once you placed the gem a nice flipmap effect would open up the roof or ground so the pole would actually take you somewhere, but no, that pole took me to Diddly-Squat, population 0!" - Sash (09-Nov-2005) |

"This level is very similar to Daniels debut level. I think he should have merged them to one larger level instead :) A very easy adventure that took me 14 minutes to finish and had tons of switches and doors. I like that but they were a tad too easy to find etc. A very enjoyable level though and I see great potential from this author in the future! Better lighting in this level that his first but there is room for a lot of improvement. Keep it up Daniel!" - QRS (08-Oct-2005) |

"This is a very easy level. You can play it in 5 min. There are some things to find: a gem and a star. Play this level if you have few time. If you don't like easy levels you better not play it." - Claudia (23-Sep-2005) |

"What's the purpose of the pole rope in the beginning? Puzzles too much easy and innocent. A very very short level. Where are the sounds? Where are the cameras? Only a few rectangle and empty rooms don't make a decent level. You only need crossbow with explosive ammo to shoot the skeletons, and the rest of the pick ups what do you want it? But there's something good: I haven't found bugs!" - Jose (12-Sep-2005) |

"It's a standard catacombs level but unfortunately not very well textured or designed. Most of the big rooms are textured with the same tiles and are empty, except for a vase or two that you might see around. There are a few skeletons and a mummy that pose no real threat since you get the crossbow and you find a star and a trident I never used. I used a gem though and finished this in seven minutes. Too short and there are no puzzles in it." - Kristina (25-Aug-2005) |

"Well, it's very short and very simple, but not badly built and certainly a lot more fluid than this author's first level. There's a gem to find and use and a trident and star to find and not use. Hmmm. There is also a climbing pole which doesn't actually lead anywhere, but I climbed it anyway just for the hell of it and had fun blowing up a few skeletons and mummies. That's it really." - Jay (15-Aug-2005) |

"I am a bit puzzled I we got a TR4 file and the all the other files to convert a TR4 in my download. Either way the level end after 10 minutes. There is a pole in the beginning that leads to nowhere. The only enemies are two lonely mummies and a bunch of skeletons. Half of the latter one still playing dead. What to do with the Star and Trident? I don't know. 13-07-2005" - Gerty (03-Aug-2005) |

I think it is even shorter than Daniel's previous level. The texturing is improved and the lighting, after being too bright in the first part, gets better in the second half, creating a better atmosphere. The fly-by at the start is technically well done. Aside from an easy pushable object puzzle, there is little to accomplish apart from moving from one room to another. 7 relaxing minutes. - eRIC (11-Jul-2005) |

Another little quickie which will not raise a sweat, this is reasonably made for the very short time it lasts, but there are still plenty of problems; very little gameplay, a rope swing through a wall, a pointless climbable pole and enemies which can be killed all too easily. But it contains no horrendous errors otherwise and is short and quite painless. - Orbit Dream (05-Jul-2005) |

A very short level at about 10 minutes. Daniel is beginning to make the rooms smaller and
texturing is more solid here. Blowing up the skellies and mummies with explosives is always
fun, but almost not required here. You collect a gem, a trident and a star and end the level
wondering what it was all for. - Michael (03-Jul-2005) |
