Reviewer's comments
"It's evident that as Lukasz became more confident with the Level Editor, he started to produce more well rounded levels that were even head-scratching at times. This is another of his fledgling efforts, and there's nothing that really stands out. This time, it's a Nevada setting, with (again) plenty of guards (one didn't initiate an attack), plus a few prisoners to help out a bit. Again, the gameplay in this case, is simple, not very taxing and doesn't present anything difficult, memorable or exciting. There's a button that will crash your game near the end, but it can be easily avoided. 16 minutes, all said and done." - Ryan (27-Mar-2018)
"It seems as if I'm starting to reach the dregs of Lukasz Croft's distilled mash. This short (25 minutes) level has some interesting touches, such as prison guards restructured as knights. There's even a wooden barrier nearby, but it doesn't need to be smashed in order for play to continue, and I couldn't get one of the guards to approach it anyway. You get much more firepower than you'll ever use, and it's strange that the armament should be so loosely guarded in a penal institution. There's a button near the end that will cause the level to crash if you push it, and Yoav has duly warned us of that fact in his utilitarian walkthrough. You get a revolver and lasersight but there's no target requiring their use. There's a legitimate finish trigger at the end, but again no compass. Mainly for Lukasz Croft completists like me." - Phil (23-Aug-2017)
"Another uninspired level from Lukasz in my opinion. It is heavily based on the Nevada levels of TR3, starting with Lara locked in a cell then making through the facility and even reaching a room with aliens. Gameplay relies solely on button-door progression, and I actually missed the action rush that's trademark from this author. Towards the end there were a few issues, such as a button crashing the game and animated textures that I'm sure were not meant to animate that way... 15 minutes, 1 secret. 07/09" - Treeble (26-Jul-2009)
"Another dependable level from Lukasz, but that's not necessarily a compliment. The biggest problem with this outing is that, although the construction is perfectly acceptable (and even impressive at times) a duration of 20 minutes is simply not enough to allow a proper storyline or player-involvement to develop. Everything seems so rushed and cursory;from Lara's rapid escape from her Cell,to the quick dash through a Missile room,to the final revelation of the alien presence. It worked in the TR3 original because you had plenty of time to build up the atmosphere and immerse the player;in this case it's run, push button, bang bang, all over. But at least you won't be bored!" - Orbit Dream (08-Nov-2005)
"What you get here is a pretty small base with a couple of laser traps, some guards, and the collection of some items. But what I found really weird about this level is that just before the end I spotted a high crawlspace and an untextured climbing wall to it and this led me back to where I picked up a fuse earlier and from here I could obviously go to every place in the level again, but this time all the objects, and I mean all the objects, were gone, from the toilet in the starting cell to the rockets to the movable blocks, now where they went and why this wormhole like opening appeared where there wasn't an opening when I got the fuse earlier is an absolute mystery. Anyhow the game itself was not overly inspiring for me and I finished it in just over 20 minutes with one secret near an oddly moving texture spot." - Sash (01-Nov-2005)
"Short (20 mins) and easy going, straight forward game. Some rats to shoot and two dogs. Nice atmosphere and great TR3 music, the aliens you could see were the highlight in my opinion. (Don't know what all the medkits and ammunition were for.) At the end there's just one button on the left that you shouldn't push as the game crashes to desktop, but that's only a minor flaw." - Tinka (26-Oct-2005)
"This level is a little bit short. It seems to be so half-made. In the last control-room when you press the button the game quits already before the end of the level. You don't have to kill hobos and the first guard, but after that we have to fight against gunmen, rats, dogs, and two invulnerable guards. :) I found only one secret, the Uzi. But we get many weapons. We are adventuring on a base. We have to crawl under lasers in order to get two keys, a code-card and a disc. I hope it will continue, this was an interesting start. The textures are good and there are also added sounds. You can find a Hungarian walkthrough (as we don't have English version), savegames and pictures here: http://treditor.hu/15/area_in_arizona.htm" - Obig (26-Oct-2005)
"There is one feature I've never seen before: if you let Lara stay quiet in a place for some time, she looks left and right with her strange face. When you began, the prisioner runs around and didn't attack Lara, but when you open the door of the jail he kicks you!? When I get the two keys and enter in the small room with the moveable block with the shotgun ammo under it, happened me a curious thing: I moved the block to the right and pick up the ammo, but when I wanted to move it again I couldn't!? The secret is very very easy to find. The dog can trespass the wooden barrier!? Names of the objects are not very appropriate (keys as "Try again...", disk as "Ba cartouche",...). In the final room there is a problem with a button, when you push it the game crashes and goes back to the desktop. Although gameplay isn't bad, puzzles are very simply; there are too much guns and ammo for the few enemies you have to shoot; there are new sound effects but cameras don't exist; lights and textures are well. It seems this author liked very much TR3!" - Jose (25-Oct-2005)
"I was really hoping for a desert level since we don't seem to have had one for ages, but this is more of a base level. Careful who you shoot - some of these guys are harmless and you can do without any extra enemies. Having said that, there's lots of guns and ammo lying about so you shouldn't take much damage unless you're really careless with the laser traps. This is a short level not requiring any great degree of cerebral activity but fun enough whilst it lasts. Rather an abrupt ending though." - Jay (18-Oct-2005)
"Lara starts in a military area and needs to find a few plugs, a chip card and a CD. It is not too difficult, enemies are rather tame and you find all the weapons and goodies you need and more that that actually. Sound was nicely added, but the atmosphere didn't work so well. The level is also rather short and more could have been made out of it." - Engelchen Lara (10-Oct-2005)
"No, not area 51, that is in Nevada, this one is situated in Arizona. This is a rather fast paste level and not difficult. But I still have some questions. The first guard I encountered I didn't need to shoot. (I did, just to have a look if he was carrying something, but he had nothing, so a reload let him live again) but I saw on the wall a receptacle but never found an item that fitted there. Also found the grenade gun and I couldn't blow up the two mean looking guards, strange. My game also ended when I used one button and got thrown to my desktop. If I have one complaint, it is way too short. Found one secret that wasn't even hidden. 10-10-2005" - Gerty (10-Oct-2005)
"This level is clearly influenced by the older TR games. Lara is somewhere in a military base with helpers and enemies like guards and rats as well, trying to find a CD, a card and plugs in order to proceed. Its' a short level, about eighteen minutes, but nicely done. There are missile rooms and laser traps plus some swimming to do. Even though it could have been a bit longer, for the time it lasted it was fun." - Kristina (09-Oct-2005)
"Well, you know what you get by now when you play a Lukasz Level and this one is no exception. Quick, fast paced (20 minutes this time), with a bit of shooting thrown in (some ten or so guards, a few rats and dogs) and a few blocks to pull. The lasertraps were nice. I wondered about the two buttons near the end as one crashed my game and the other I never actually (legally) got to, but as the door opened anyway, I just finished the adventure." - MichaelP (09-Oct-2005)
