Reviewer's comments
"This is a simple, but not shabbily made debut level. Admittedly, it's no stunner, gameplay- wise or looks-wise, but it doesn't look horrible and there are some nice ideas, like the slope jumps, or the deadly tile path leading to the grail itself. Not bad at all." - Ryan (31-Dec-2016)
"Despite not really offering anything truly noteworthy via standard TR4 Egyptian assets(beyond some retextured enemies here and there), what's on offer is solidly designed if a tad too easy, in terms of general difficulty. Gameplay is unabashedly linear(with the odd brief detour being solely for supplies or quest items), lighting, texturing and ambiance are handled well enough to create an effective atmosphere on the whole, and the enemies/objects fit about as effectually, as you'd expect them to. So in conclusion, a rather average adventure overall. But if you've got 20 minutes to kill and don't want your mind to be taxed, then this is well worth the price of admission for one playthrough, at the very least." - Ceamonks890 (26-Apr-2015)
"Although this level is very easy and without any real highlight sequences of any kind, it is still a fun one to play through. All jumps are easy and there aren't any real traps either. It is impossible to get stuck here, as it is straightforward and linear. The atmosphere is a bit on the relaxing side as you play along and progress from area to area, killing enemies in between. I found a large amount of pickups in form of health packs and ammo and one secret. The texturing and lighting looked pretty good and everything worked they way it should. There was nothing bad to be found about this level, but unfortunately nothing really exciting either. If you are looking for something easy and basic that can be finished under 30 minutes without having to look at the walkthrough a single time, this one is for you. (25min, 1 secret)" - Blue43 (31-May-2011)
"A pleasant level built with the Coastal textures and Karnak objects plus various custom gunmen. It is quite an easy raid , solidly built without being impressive. Some good ideas towards the end. The right hourglass is easily chosen. 20 minutes." - eRIC (11-Jan-2009)
"This is a nice short and sweet level and quite enjoyable. Not one of the best but the level has been designed nicely enough and the architecture was kept consistant throughout. The puzzles were cleverly excecuted and I liked the new sas guys." - Necro (17-Oct-2007)
"The author's first level, notably without the usual rookie mistakes, so technicaly it's a good job. While I can't say anything bad about the level, nothing particularly good either, average in every aspects. Still I recommend it for those who like easy levels, or happen to have time only for a short adventure." - Akcy (14-Sep-2007)
"It's a very short level, fifteen minutes tops with one secret to find. Your goal is to get the grail which is the Timeless Sands really but before that you need a vraeus and two canopic jars. The rooms are pretty simple textured and there are many guards and scorpions to kill. Not much else to say about this really except that it's a standard level with nothing interesting in my opinion." - Kristina (15-Apr-2006)
"Now, this is my first review, so be nice, okay, this level had quite okay lighting and textures, it was just the ammo you got that made it boring, too much ammo! and not enough bad guys! There were some good traps, one of them actually gave me quite a scare when i found it! but apart from that, ill give this level an avarage 4/10." - ColeMoles (12-Feb-2006)
"This was a very simple level, yet nice to play. It's quite linear and the gameplay is very obvious, you just look for puzzle pieces to open doors and proceed further into the level. I particularly liked the new baddies. They're a bit glitched though and it's easy to understand why. In one secret you are given the grenadegun plus Flash grenades (that one kind people rarely use). Instead of fighting them masses of baddies I just shot a grenade and ranaway. A few seconds later, instead of recovering, they'd keep trying to get up and just wouldn't, they'd keep flickering though you could kill them in that state with your pistols without worries. I suppose a few camerawork could come in handy and a bit more lighting effects would have enhanced the atmosphere. 20 minutes, 1 secret. 02/06" - Treeble (11-Feb-2006)
"This is a short, linear, easy Karnak style game, in which I have to say the enemies were a bit too numerous for my tastes. Having said that, for a first time build, this seemed to me to be very well constructed, the only real giveaway being the overly generous amount of pickups scattered about. There were one or two rather nice touches to enliven the otherwise rather simple gameplay and overall I thought this showed a lot of promise." - Jay (12-Jan-2006)
"For twenty minutes you are taken on a pretty straightforward ride through what I assume is an Egyptian environment in this level, sadly nothing really stands out to give it a memorable factor, though the tile jump at the end with the electrical effects was at least a slight highlight. There's really not a lot more to say about it, other than it is a solidly built level, but it just seems more like a demo rather than a full level. Well at least it isn't a big download." - Sash (07-Jan-2006)
"A short level easy to play. Not difficult tasks, only explore, find and shoot enemies. I've only find one secret. Perhaps too much ammo, and the medipacks only appears at the end of the level, but they're not necessary. Correct geometry and good gameplay, but not interesting puzzles. Good enemies by Baddy and lights, sounds and textures are well. A playable level." - Jose (27-Dec-2005)
"For a first it is a solid and fast little level and as it says in the title, Lara gets away with the Grail in her backpack. Nothing is difficult and although there are quite a few soldiers (and scorpions) to shoot, there is more than enough ammo and guns to find, just to do so. Found one secret, the Grenade Launcher and I didn't use it. The enemies are all different dressed and we have Baddy to thank for that, says the readme. Between all the lengthy levels, this is a treat to play. 05-12-2005" - Gerty (15-Dec-2005)
"20 quick and very tame minutes in a Karnak/Coastal environment. Clearly a debut level, as it is rather simple in its setup, yet an enjoyable raid while it lasts which will hardly ever have you stop and think and gets spiced up with a bunch of tough bad guys. Some good ideas though towards the end, so we can certainly hope to see more from this author. Found one secret." - MichaelP (11-Dec-2005)
"Even when a first-time builder gets all the technicalities correct (as is pretty much the case here)you can still spot that it's their first attempt by the absurd ammount of pick-ups scattered about the place. In this adventure you very quickly amass an arsenal big enough to defeat Gengis Khan's army, thereby making the attacks from black scorpions and the occasional heavy somewhat pointless(although the soldiers are placed well). Everything else is a competant and fast-moving runaround with nary a pause for breath anywhere (including an 'in your face' secret),but it provided 23 minutes of stress-free enjoyment and was altogether a good effort for a debut level." - Orbit Dream (06-Dec-2005)
