Reviewer's comments
"A long and complete level not easy to play. As usual from this author, a good atmosphere is created with the use of lights and musics. The double timed run was too hard, and I only was able to do it by using the jump+roll+back arrow keys combination when pressing the second button. There is an interesting movable cages puzzle but the remaining gameplay was not very funny, shooting a lot of enemies and avoiding dangers. The grenade gun appeared too late, near the very end but you'll find enough guns, ammo and medipacks along the level. Good work, but the very short time for the timed run was totally unnecessary." - Jose (06-Aug-2017)
"A shorter sequel to Kabul 1 and again I had some fun here, although I found that the enemy placements were a bit more unfair, particularly being sniped by guards and mauled by ferocious fishes, while in a pool with propellers. Again, the music choice is good and the atmosphere well supported by the dark corners and texturing." - Ryan (19-Jun-2017)
"This is shorter than Kabul 1, but I had a better time in Kabul 2. There was much more to gameplay than pushing a button and shooting a guard (although in retrospect, I suppose I was a bit unfair in this criticism of Kabul 1, since most of the tedium took place in the last segment and was therefore freshest in my mind when I wrote the review). The spookiness factor is sustained throughout, with many dark corners and neck-hair-raising background music. You get more weapons and ammo than you seemingly can carry, so you can deal comfortably with the assorted enemies you'll encounter. I neglected to check my game clock at the end, but you'll get at least an hour's worth of gaming enjoyment out of this one. Recommended." - Phil (23-Oct-2009)
"I havent played many levels from this Author, but I must say that I like his style! The first part of Kabul,Afghanistan was very good, and this one is even better! Sometimes it was a little bit frustrating(the imed run) and hard to play, but there are enough elements in the gameplay that kept me playing it till the end. Sometimes the level felt like a shooter, but there was enough ammo to kill everything that wants to hurt Lara. A great level...enyojed it!" - MpGrill (16-Feb-2009)
"I have not played the first level -- have booted the second so we could kick it off the review wishlist. I have played a few of Lukasz' levels and his levels are always action packed, so I think a new favorite might be on the rise. The logo with a black background was rather offputting, but fortunately the actual level is rather pleasing on the eye. True, is a base environment and these tend to be sterile and for the most part of it, this is no exception to the rule. It doesn't mean it doesn't have its moments, though. The cyborgs were rather cool; and the all new sound effects make for a refreshing change. Gameplay wise it's very linear, not too taxing on the player. 65 minutes, 3 secrets. 10/08" - Treeble (28-Oct-2008)
"The added screens really slow down the navigation in the inventory, so just rename them to get rid of that issue. I played this right after the first Kabul adventure, which I liked a lot and then this starts with a (fake) Eidos / CD intro which made me chuckle, but the high expectations I had were not fully met here. True, it is a fairly solid hour long adventure in usual Base style. Progression is fairly obvious and fast paced and some puish blocks and timed sequences are well used here to spice things up, but overall there is too much simple running forward, pressing buttons to open the next door and shooting many guards. The four secrets are worth looking for though." - MichaelP (24-Oct-2008)
"You know as soon as you see the Eidos and CD logos and stunning use of color that you're in for a somewhat different Raid. Lukasz has crafted an intricately plotted, adrenaline filled game that, at times, is relentless. A lot of thought has to be given to how to combat enemies without, at first, effective weaponry and what can easily be a dwindling supply of medipacks. Enemies are abundant: thugs and more thugs; sentry guns; zombies, laser and other traps and the need for a very good memory - no running through areas without checking things thoroughly and remembering what is where. Uzis are very easy to miss and a bit difficult to reach but that is the style here as everything is a bit(and sometimes way beyond a bit) difficult - not for the average Raider. But don't let that dissuade you from downloading this as there is a very helpful walkthrough by Harry with some savegames to enable all to play.....and DOZY is enabled. But do try this without cheats because as much fun(and nostalgic) as DOZY is, so is playing it as the builder intended - except for that particularly tight crawl/run/jump. So, adrenaline junkie or just looking for an interesting, intense Raid, this is a very good choice. Try it - I think you'll find it memorable." - Bene (07-Oct-2008)
"Once again Lukasz proves his new-found worth by providing us with another slick and exciting adventure, filled with impressive technical flourishes and quite a few clever gameplay ideas.Although all of this is well up to standard (especially the music score, the cinematic cameras, the well-applied textures and the attempt at plot development) this falls a little short of the standards of 'Kabul 1' due to the incipient darkness,over-abundance of people sniping rather unfairly at Our Lady, remorselessly linear progression, abrupt ending and,in particular, one really nasty timed sequence involving a raising block/timed crawl/sprint which actually needs to be performed twice due to an unfairly placed shootable box.(Thank goodness for the fly-cheat.)If you enjoy 'Shooters' combined with a few expert challenges then this should be right up your street. For those of you who don't,give this a go anyway;the atmosphere is relentlessly tense and exciting and Lukasz even cheekily presents this offering as an 'official adventure'!" - Orbit Dream (28-May-2008)
"Again a"shoot-them-to high-heaven" and in here the enemies are harder to kill and I barely made it with the medipacks that you'll find here. It is gloomy, it is dark, it is dangerous and it is gory. But the pace is nice and not too hard to figure out. Had two small bugs (?), that is I needed to use an underwater lever twice (in the underwater room with the fan) or else I couldn't get out and I"lost" one battery. But luckily I had a save to playing that bit over again was OK. Play around a bit more with the lightning as gloomy is fine, dark isn't or give us a bit more flares. A pity that you crash to your desktop when hitting the finishing trigger." - Gerty (11-Apr-2008)
"The atmosphere in this level is quite intense, due in large part to the accompanying sound files. It's a bit of a shooter, which I confess isn't my favourite scenario, but there's enough other stuff going on to offset that aspect, including a really tight timed run at one point, so I actually had quite a lot of fun with this one. You'll also get plenty of pickups so dealing with the enemies soon becomes easy. Also, there are a couple of sentry guns to shoot - always a plus point in a level. Definitely well worth a look, even if you aren't normally a fan of shooters." - Jay (08-Apr-2008)
"well .......this one is more a shooter than exploration and is pretty strightforward level ....... once i get in trouble at a insane timed run - but after that just plain and moustly boring gameplay........ graphics mediocre ..... light effects non exist , pretty dark level ......good set of enemyes .. and untill u get powerfull weapons u need to use allmoust all medipacks cos there are loads off guys wich want to see u dead , some lasers easy to avoid , some baracudas ......but after u get the uzi and the SMG and the desert eagle is a brezee to deal with the foes ... after 1 hour of gameplay the ending was a nice crash at the desktop ...... well is playable game but dont impress me at all ..........." - Jack& (03-Apr-2008)
"This interesting raid has a little of everything.A good collection of different enemies (and a sometimes disturbing number of them), different puzzles to complete in order to advance your progress, a ridiculous timed run (thank Raymond for the savegame), and a nice assortment of weaponry. This is a dark venue, but there are ample flares. It annoys me to have to constantly strike a flare in order to see, though. There is a new "savegame" feature which left me cold. It is slow and cumbersome and you have to be careful not to "load" by mistake. A waste of time, I think. Anyway, I thoroughly enjoyed this game and think you will too. Nice one, Lucasz !" - Mugs (02-Apr-2008)
