Reviewer's comments |
"Sanctuary of Water, Ice and Sakul. Done so since the old editor needed a base map and asset. It feels like if Piega's fountain level was put in a shaker, shuffled and poured out, but everything still works somehow - the one and only experience. Recommended though underdone compared to the original (textures/lights have blank spots despite of the small size not justifying it at all)." - DJ Full (02-Sep-2024) |

"I'm sure I reviewed this prior to the site
being down a while ago, but anyhow here it is
again. It's been a while since I played it, but
I do remember some parts. A nice setting,
fairly involving gameplay with a couple of
timed runs and a torch puzzle. A shame it ended
so abruptly, though." - Ryan (13-May-2017) |

"If Mikro is intended to mean the same thing as micro, then the
name of this 20-minute tidbit is fitting. It's pretty basic
stuff, and it's too dark in spots, but plenty of flares are
provided and you also get an abundance of explosive ammo to
deal with the several skeletons that come your way. There's a
timed swim that's not very taxing, and the laser sight is made
of gold. The environs have been crafted with eye-pleasing
care, and Harry Laudie has provided a no-frills walkthrough.
A pleasant diversion to enjoy between the more exhausting
raids." - Phil (01-Apr-2015) |

"Although only consisting of two (!) rooms, a lot of gameplay is packed into this short level, and it was rather enjoyable. It's rather classic raiding what you get here with usage of the lasersight, levers (one or two of them timed), the torch and a couple of pushables, but it worked well together as a unit. Maybe I had a few gripes like that the place where the golden vase at the start has to be pushed is a little bit obscure and the shootable grate underwater is not very obvious (and I even had a small bug with the crossbow not being able to shatter it). The textures and objects seem to be mostly copied from Piega's SoWIaF (as well as the outfit), but they create a rather nice atmosphere as texturing and lighting is apart from a few glitches nicely done and enemies and objects fit the climate rather well. A few more cameras would have been nice and the starting place of Lara seemed a little odd as I had to wonder how she entered this place, but all in all these are only minor issues and I think this level is very nice for a short break, one of the better ones with such a short length (13 minutes)." - manarch2 (01-Dec-2012) |

"The title may give it away it's a short level, but it's actually impressive how much you do in this level. I got the impression most of the objects were from Piega's Sanctuary of Water, Ice and Fire, but I might be wrong. The level works very well and actually I wish more of the custom level releases were like this (ie decent sized rooms with actual gameplay in them). 20 minutes. 11/08" - Treeble (01-Nov-2008) |

"This is a very small level but very well builded; few rooms but a lot of tasks to do. Good appearance, well lightened and textured, nice objects, no difficult tasks and some interesting puzzles. Only skeletons and sharks as enemies and enough ammo to deal with them. Four gems to find and a couple of timed runs. A level easy to play, I missed a more long level to continue playing 'cause it was very entertaing for me." - Jose (12-Jun-2008) |

"Somehow there is a season of very short and crisp levels these days and this is also one you will finish in 15 minutes or less, so the title is quite appropriate. Nevertheless, while being short, it has all the ingerdients of classic TR gameplay, including blowing up skeletons, target shooting, swimming, jumping and finding some gems and roses. Nice and relaxing little raid in a good looking environment. One for in-between." - MichaelP (03-Jun-2008) |

"This is a very, very short level and rather gloomy as well. Keep your eyes wide open, as I didn't see the crossbow first time around. You need that (as well as the sight) because there is practice shooting, also very handy for those pesky skeletons. Getting your hands on four gems and a key will let you finish the level. Found two roses and I take it that is a secret although there is no secret sound or count." - Gerty (12-May-2008) |

"Assuming you know where to go and what to do you'll be through this in 10 minutes flat but I typically ran around like a headless chicken, muttering things about bugs, until I found the correct way to proceed (mind you,an apparently red-herring timed lever seemed rather unfair!) It's a good looking level,to be sure;with an appropriate selection of objects and rather good use of skeletons and pick-ups. It's possible that the player could become stuck if the tasks were done in the incorrect order but what disapoints most is the abrupt ending, coming as it does at the very point in the level when you expect big things to happen;leading to the suspicion that the builder lost patience at this point and simply stuck in the Finish Trigger in order to go and do something more interesting instead. This is entirely worth playing for the looks and the interesting gameplay (there's a surprising variety for such a small playing area),but it's ultimately no more than a very well-made quickie." - Orbit Dream (09-May-2008) |

"A nice small level by Sakul that is textured very well. The gameplay could have been better and the lighting was too dark in some places. The skeletons were a nice surprise and the music went well with the level. I didn't see any point for the roses being in this level. It ends rather suddenly while swimming through an underwater passage but this leaves it open-ended for a sequel. I recommend this level." - Cory (09-May-2008) |

"well short and straightforward level took me 20 min to finish it nothing speacial with ,, realy dont impress me at all but playable....." - Jack& (08-May-2008) |

"I was just settling into this level when it ended, lol. Yes, it's only short but what there is I really enjoyed. It's quite straightforward, but appealing, with a good atmosphere and well built surroundings. The enemies are skeletons and a couple of hammerhead sharks and you do get explosive crossbow ammo in plenty of time to deal with the skellies so just don't jump into the water without looking as I did and you'll be fine (I never learn, do I). There are four gems to find, a bit of torch work, a small push puzzle and a not at all difficult timed swim. I'm making it sound rather dull actually and it isn't, it just could have done with lasting a bit longer and I've got two roses in my backpack that I never used. Perhaps there's a continuation in the pipeline - please?" - Jay (08-May-2008) |

"Despite a bit of confusion in the end with a timed switch I could not
found a use for, overall it's a good level that in my view
has the quality and characteristics of an official level for the looks
and for the gameplay which is rather fair. I experienced a bug when
playing on my first try , with the last door not opening despite the fact
i placed all 4 gems and the Cathedral key, but it worked fine when I
replayed the last portion of the level , starting from an earlier
savegame ; so i won't subtract any points for that [besides, I haven't heard so far of another player to whom this problem occured]. But the level is
rather short , at about 20 minutes , so I can't rate higher. Good
texturing and puzzles, not a lot of enemies, sharks and skeletons that are not a real annoyance as you can find explosive arrows. I hope there will be a
sequel as I quite like this kind of stuff." - eRIC (06-May-2008) |
