Reviewer's comments |
"It almost feels like a cheat day playing not one, but two of these in a row to make up for lost time while trying to make other things happen in the short amount of free time we get nowadays (damn you, adulthood), but for the most part I could simply copy and paste the previous review. This one does look slightly better when you can see, because otherwise it's too dark. You don't even get to appreciate the xenomorph enemies properly, especially the queen, but I guess that's the whole point of these creatures in the first place. 5 minutes. 07/23" - Treeble (09-Jul-2023) |
 |
"Didn't see a file with credits so I guess the builder took the alien from the Lara at the Movies file or other files. Taken that into consideration this is just a small level with the iconic alien from Ridley Scott's movie and some kind of 'mother' alien version (that you can't kill I think) from Camerons' Aliens. Way too dark this level but it does create a bit the SF/horror atmosphere from the movies. Other than that, hardly anything to be called game play, just find lever and run/swim for your life. Very short level." - bERT (29-Dec-2022) |

"Hollywood Mini Adventures - Alien Escape
I thought this trail builder had come to his senses and wasn't whipping us with mass trails. Well, I was wrong. What's so special about this track is that the enemy is the Alien from the movie. In fact, at the end of the course there is a mama alien, if you get the shotgun at the beginning of the course, you can run under her belly and kill her with one shot. A few minutes of adventure. Is it worth it? :) Hungarian walkthrough, and savegames, pictures" - Obig (01-Feb-2022) |

"This level really gave me the creeps, partly because it was so damn dark you could hardly see anything BUT the aliens were masterful (pity they were so stupid and kept getting stuck in corners). I found NO extra weaponry but finished the level with her trusty .45's. I would love to see this expanded from the current 10 minutes with some extra light added so that you can actually see the glory of the aliens." - Torry (10-Oct-2019) |
 |
"Eleven minutes of bad graphics and good gameplay however it's a huge step up from the jungle level, and the acid-burnt gap hint ascent is exactly such an on-topic application I love to see in custom levels. Recommended." - DJ Full (30-Jun-2019) |

"Another mini adventure, this time in a
very gloomy setting populated by a few
aliens. You obtain some sort of MP5 gun at
the beginning, but most of the enemies can
be avoided without too much sweat so it's
pretty much unnecessary. The lighting is a
bit too dark even for a level as short as
this and the background sound seemed
completely absent. 5 minutes 40 seconds
total." - Ryan (14-Jun-2018) |

"As for some of the builder's other levels, this one does
not come with audio files , so you may add an audio 107 of
your choice to benefit of some background atmosphere. It
could have been the builder's most interesting level with
those aliens and a more solid setting this time , but some
features do not help to have some fun. In these conditions
it is a good thing it does not last long , again under 10
minutes, for it is too dark to see something and there is
no flares to be found. Mind you there is only very dark
ambient lighting except for a control room with a too
bright ambient ligting. No work with the lighting then
except for a few effects in the last room. The builder
should consider these aspects of level building , lighting
and audios so that players enjoy the experience. Aside from
that , the gameplay is again quite minimalist." - eRIC (16-Aug-2017) |

"The textures are always wallpapered here but this time they are more diverse, and the wallpaper effect isn't totally boring. The enemies are aliens and are well integrated in the atmosphere, but some rooms are too dark and there is not enough flares (3). Short level (5 minutes), no secrets." - Quentin (12-Mar-2014) |

"Another short level that takes place on a space station filled to the brim with xenomorphs from the Alien movies. While the basic premise in itself might sound appealing to fans of the films, you're just placed in this satellite with no build-up or any real reason as to why Lara is even there in the first place(serving more as a exterminator than anything else.) Again, many of the same problems from the builder's previous releases are present and accounted for here as well, so I'll try to avoid sounding like I'm beating a dead horse.
Now, I can see what the builder was trying to accomplish here with this level, attempting to create a more survival horror type of experience with a considerable lack of lighting helping to instill the fear of danger being around any corner. But the problem is that with little to no flares to help light your way, this design choice becomes much more detrimental to the experience than anything else, as it's quite difficult to see where you're going. And with no tense ambient music to help add to the atmosphere, this attempt at a scary premise quickly starts to fall flat.
Once you're done with exterminating the last of the xenomorphs, you simply climb into a crawlspace and the game just anticlimactically ends.
Overall, this release just comes across as one of those ideas that sounds good on paper, but has a flawed execution. And at only 10 minutes long, there simply isn't enough content to come back to here for replays. Best played once out of curiosity and never touch it again." - Ceamonks890 (06-Mar-2014) |

"Again a very short level and also very, very dark. Aliens this time (and if I am not mistaken, Codo's aliens, they do give me the creeps but at the same time I love them). Not much of a story than go in, kill them and escape." - Gerty (10-Feb-2014) |
 |
"A very very small level even shorter than the previous one. Again the same defects with paper walls and ceilings and stretched textures. This time there are some extra guns, but the environment is too dark and there are not enough flares to see where you're going to. Again I missed some puzzles and not only pull a couple of switches to finish the level. Please take your time to learn something more, work to fix that faults and build more rooms, place more objects, improve the architecture and implement some puzzles. Encouragement!" - Jose (29-Jan-2014) |

"This level is much like the builder's companion release in a jungle setting. Here you're aboard a space ship infested with cleverly textured critters. The gameplay is brief and linear, and the builder should have provided more flares than he did, but I enjoyed myself for the 10 minutes or so that it took to hit the finish trigger. You're supplied with impressive weaponry at the very beginning, but the AI of the aliens is so dismal that you can finish the level without having to kill a single one of them. Give me a 45-minute level like this one and I'll be eager to conclude the review with my trademark "recommended."" - Phil (22-Jan-2014) |

"This builder's levels are certainly well titled as mini adventures; they seem to be getting even shorter. This one took just over five minutes and was utterly straightforward in terms of gameplay. Where this offering had a bit more merit was in terms of atmosphere. It's very dark and claustrophobic, which makes encountering the aliens quite effective. Otherwise, it's just a case of shooting or running away (or in some cases swimming away)." - Jay (19-Jan-2014) |

"Another speed level, if not, offering a bit more in the
atmosphere department than the author's previous levels.
This time, however; we simply took out any gameplay and are
just tasked with the elimination of dangerous aliens. The
atmosphere was well done but the darkness didn't add
anything but annoyance to the oppressed and dark texturing
as popping a flare every few seconds is annoying. The
textures were okay and the lighting could have used a bit
more care. The enormous alien at the end was actually scary
and caused me to jump and with the health I had by then, I
was alien food. Overall - This level seemed to be just in
the league with the author's other levels but did a lot more
in the Atmosphere department than the others. There is some
progression shown in each level but it is necessary to
actually spend some time to compile a decent level with
actual gameplay and an actual plot which I hope to see next
time. Time - 10mins, Difficulty - Easy, Secrets - 0/?,
Recommend." - Larabiker301 (18-Jan-2014) |

"The "2" for gameplay and puzzles is maybe even a bit too high because essentially the only thing you do in this level is to use a few levers to open some doors and kill half a dozen of dinosaurs for about four minutes, when the level ends as abruptly as all the other levels of this builder. I must admit the atmosphere is more convincing this time, but is largely feels like a showcase of Codo's Alien Resurrection textures and objects, not necessarily in a overly convincing way, and the game still lacks any sound files and lighting efforts else than changing the colour of the various rooms. It was somewhat fun in a way, but a) way too short and b) pretty pointless. To the builder - please concentrate on a longer level next time which actually has some interesting gameplay in it..." - manarch2 (18-Jan-2014) |

"And yet another (very) mini adventure of about 10 minutes. This time it is all about the rather cool Alien enemy versions (which of course the author deserves no credit for himself, as I think they were all created originally by Codo). You meet and get to kill (or run away from) them in a suitably dark and spooky environment, but that is really all there is to it, hence hardly worth a look..." - MichaelP (17-Jan-2014) |
 |
"At less than ten minutes, this really is a mini adventure - but it fits the remit of the title,as it features several creatures out of the Alien film series which roam dark spaceship corridors and need to be despatced with the large variety of weaponry on offer. This time around, any attempt at putting together bothersome puzzles and challenges has been entirely eliminated.Instead, you simply run around on a short killing spree.
The lighting was somewhat too dark even for the oppresive environment depicted here;but it just about manages to offer reasonable and creepy fun." - Orbit Dream (17-Jan-2014) |
