"A bit simple and random graphics but with nice concept, varying puzzles and good storyline wrap which makes you feel like on a mission - even though you need to heal for the last cutscene. A worthy aftermath of Back to Basics Space competition." - DJ Full (30-Nov-2023)
"This is a beautifully crafted level that does not take it easy on the raider but provides most necessary hints. The deducted point was for the cameras, that sometimes didn't show what happens after you do something. There are hints that come a bit too early, while some others are lacking. Those details would make the game flow better. There are some trickier parts, but this is not a hard level, maybe medium difficulty. I hated the persistent scorpion-locust swarm... Congratulations on this gem, Jose! Thank you for sharing it with all of us." - MigMarado (01-Apr-2021)
"For a back to basics Jose really did this one !!! Great game, took a while without the walk, well, I did have to peek a couple times..." - Juno Jim (21-Jan-2020)
"Plenty of WOW moments in this level. Spectacular scenery and atmosphere is spot on so that you actually believed you were on an alien planet. What I liked was the health pit so that you could regenerate at any time throughout the level and also the timed run over the movable boxes. Inspired. What I did not like was the plethora of tasks that in many cases had no reason other than to make you complete them, with many of them being counter intuitive. Having said that get out the walk through early folks else you will be wandering about like a headless chook. I found no secrets as they, in the main, required repetition of tasks already completed and I simply could not be bothered. The monster snake was vapid unfortunately. If you got behind it you were safe and could fire away till the cows came home as it simply could not turn to hit Lara. Some challenge. This could have easily been rectified with a wall that rose on approach or some such thing. However, overall a decent raid that will have you occupied for around 90 minutes." - Torry (15-Oct-2019)
"I strongly affirm the use of existing BtB packages to build new levels, especially alien levels of which there are far too few. José has put together a convincing alien environment, both outdoors and inside the starship, which is a treat to experience while going through the familiar Tomb Raider motions. Light sticks (flares) are provided in profusion, but the only time I used one was at the end when I had to search for the exit key dropped by one of the enemies. There are several neat touches here that prompt my 10 in the gameplay category: the timed run that requires a precise readjustment of movable blocks, the trigger tile maze and the restructured enemies. My only disappointment, if you can call it that, was not having a segment with the starship in flight while Lara performs EVA tasks outside. I'm sure that would have been spectacular. Perhaps José has a sequel in mind along these lines. Nonetheless, the concluding flyby was a work of art that provided the perfect capper to a raid that lasted about an hour and a half for me. High recommendations." - Phil (27-Sep-2019)
"It is very nice to see a competently built level using the BtB Space resources, lately there are not so many BtB inspired levels around. Everything about that titular starship is just great - its architecture, the Star Wars music, the cameras - but I think the rest is a bit less inspired visually, with some cracks in and too eclectic usage of texturing and lighting and a few objects are filling the rooms more instead of making sense in the environment. There is good scaling in terms of space, however, and the interior rooms are all quite well built. The gameplay is an enjoyable mix of puzzles, timed runs and exploration, and there is no dull moment during the 35 minutes I spent here, but I did not like that many puzzles had this slight style of "find one or two of X correct levers", not that it is trial and error, but a bit repetitive. I liked the timed run with the pushables you can arrange before (you don't have to if you use banana jumps), however, if you push the first box close to the ladder, you cannot get back up again(?) if you fall down. The conveyor belt and the traps in the penultimate hall are also interesting, perhaps even more could've been done with these ideas. Anyway, despite a few thing I did not like, a pleasant and highly atmospheric raid in a setting that you cannot really go wrong with. Found only two of three secrets (due to the above mentioned bug) in 35 minutes." - manarch2 (20-Sep-2019)
"This is a great set of objects to see put to use again. A wonderful sci-fi level that has you explore a well-decorated, sprawling alien planet as Lara tries to take back the Starship hijacked from her. Plenty of unique types of puzzles and action sequences - strongly winded chambers, a sprint against lightning, and a "set your own hurdles" timed run are some examples. Audio is selected and timed well. The texturing and lighting are nice and varied, helping this longer level not feel tired too fast. My only minor critiques here are 1) the starship itself is a bit wallpapered (although considering how huge it is, I know it would be a formidable task to address that) and 2) some death squares and spike traps should have been better marked. My only other critique is the tall chamber near the end, which is hard to navigate because it is easy to forget where the different holes are to climb up between the 5 levels. Perhaps more cameras would have helped there. The cutscenes were good, the ending in particular gave me a nice sense of satisfaction. Nice job. 1 hour 6 minutes." - JesseG (18-Sep-2019)
"If you played the Back to Basics Space levels, you’ll be most pleased to see all those wonderful objects and textures again and what an excellent entry this would have made. Everything comes together beautifully, with clever and interesting gameplay that you will really have to use your grey cells for at times. Apart from good puzzles, there are some highly enjoyable traps to overcome, easily my favourite being the sliding walkways room. Enemies are effectively used too and the use of the Star Wars music in the opening and closing cut scenes was inspired. An absolute must-play." - Jay (14-Sep-2019)
"José did a wonderful job to bring a fun Sci-fi level. You spend the first half on an alien town then you are transported into a very big ship. We have here a builder who cares , there is always a hint or a logic when it comes to puzzles and some cameras are also helpful. The secrets were not obvious to find. It is not a difficult level but the player still needs to be observant. Most of what i encountered here was very entertaining with well thought out puzzles ( the one with 4 levers , the other timed one with a hint where only one lever has to be activated, i just like the idea to place the movable blocks strategically so to succeed the timed run, and perhaps the place i enjoyed the most was the one with the different traps and sliding tiles ). Aboard the ship more puzzles and traps and actions as well. The storyline is effective and i just loved the last flyby. I have appreciated the audios as well. The places are a bit squarish , and on the planet sometimes textures disappear in the far distant horizon, but the texturing is good and lighting quite pleasant. The objects/enemies are great, I guess most come from the BTB Space package of which i have not played any level (yet) but it was not an hindrance for me to guess what could be the use of such or such object. Bottomline : quite a fun and good work !" - eRIC (11-Sep-2019)
"I loved the best BtB-Space entry even though I never got to use the rudimentary bomb... Rudimentary bomb aside, it's great to see the BtB Space design being put to full use and I'm glad this is such a late entry. Great puzzles and traps, excellent atmosphere and architecture and a number of outstandingly crafted creatures along the way. Star Wars on steroids. This level is also quite varied and actually player-friendly in spite of a few apparently threatening appearances. Congratulations and thank you for keeping the force alive." - Jorge22 (11-Sep-2019)
"A highly entertaining space adventure that manages to pack a surprising amount and variety of gameplay in a level that lasts just over an hour. There's plenty to get your teeth into and the challenge quotient ramps up throughout, with the most taxing parts being the timed runs and the enemy confrontations, but nothing insurmountable to overcome. The highlights were probably the aforementioned timed runs and the wind tunnel section near the end, but there should be something for everyone. The BtB Space objects and textures are put to good use and the environments are definitely an improvement from this builder's previous efforts. A couple of the areas are still a bit plain decor-wise, but the overall effect is pleasing, while the atmosphere is suspenseful and the music imposing. Definitely worth trying out!" - Ryan (11-Sep-2019)
