Reviewer's comments
"Very creative TRLE with a lot of new ideas, items and tasks, some enemies are also there. Therefore clearly a level to explore, but new ideas are also a double-edged sword. After the bomb code, the diary is unfortunately useless, more hints in it would have improved the difficulty balance. This automatically makes the level harder (and longer) than it is, but on the other hand it is worth experiencing the real location of a TR meeting in Germany, which was really believably designed." - vandit (05-Aug-2022)
"As a person who visited the actual place, I can say the execution is superb - when I first saw the loading screen from a distance, I thought I'm looking at an actual photo of the house. The details inside and outside are what you really can find there. Everything is alike: the 360 degree horizon, the table alignment, the floor plan, the cabinets, even the cars of the meeting people. I'm pretty sure with enough spare time Clara and Mario would be able to model the entire town 1:1 - maybe for a sequel? Maybe? Maaaaybe?" - DJ Full (20-Jul-2022)
"Quirky, funny, very well made and very interesting to explore around. although most of the gameplay relvoves around collecting items inside and outside the complex and using and combining them to progress, ive never come across such original and unique ways before! some of them funny, some of them silly like the key and white paint to open a door haha. the puzzle with key and the drain very clever! as was finding 4 numbers and using them later on in combination task quickly. Unfortunately i either think you have to be a bit of a mind reader or have a walkthrough very handy to complete this level as how is one supposed to know that correcting a crooked painting on a wall will open a door or that the bottom of one of the stairs can be secretly opened?! luckily i did have a walkthrough and using it didnt put much of a dampener on things because it was all so intriguing especially when you get underground for a few tasks and swimming, youve got funny cutscenes, distracting animal tasks and bad guys to kill as well. theres lots of brilliant variety, great textures and objects here i had great fun but the only disappointment was finding a motorbike but not being able to ride it, even with the keys not fair! lol" - John (16-Aug-2021)
"Absolutely loved this level which makes me want to come back once a while. This level is supposed to be some kind of irl meeting (Not sure what is it about) but nevertheless, we have a house and an underground which we explore to collect important items. The textures are applied very-well, as well as the lighting. The gameplay was straightforward and fun, there weren't many puzzles but we had a timed one where we have to figure out the code from a shopping list, which was quite fun (although I didn't understand german I had to translate it). The only thing I didn't like was the sound and animation change when switching the levels. I would recommend to anyone who wants to relax and play it takes only 25-30 minutes." - Kubsy (14-Nov-2020)
"I am obviously rather biased with this level, as I am a regular attendee at the annual meetings in this location and the way it has been brought to life in this Level is just absolutely stunning and to the point. There are many, many small inside jokes and hints here that other players likely will not even recognize as such, but even without these additional "feel good moments", the adventure is entertaining and at times challenging as it needs careful observation and thinking along the way. Just love this one - and as the meeting did not happen in 2020 due to the pandemic, at least we could go there by replaying the level..." - MichaelP (16-Oct-2020)
"This level has an authentic German small town feel. The exteriors and interiors are very realistic, especially the food/household items. I did feel like I was in a geeky meetup the whole time. And the toilet paper "fish" were hilarious. I enjoyed the puzzles (Lara does BBQ! getting rid of the owl!) though at times the Action button on an item did not work as expected, which was a bit confusing and made me spend more time on puzzles, even though I had the correct idea. The gameplay has elements of point and click games like Monkey Island, where one needs to do whimsical item combinations and really look at every nook and cranny in order to advance and get all secrets. Overall very enjoyable." - carolinux (08-Jul-2020)
"A very good adventure in two levels by two very good builders. I really liked visited with Lara this beautiful building who take place the TR meeting. There are bedrooms, kitchens, lounges and various many other lovely rooms I take pleasure to discovered, even in the catacombs of the house. The game is not very easy but it's not a hard game too, even if some items and switchs are sometimes very well hidden. I congratulate Clara and Sponge for this fabulous game in Germany and I hope play another one very quickly. Recommended for everyone!!" - Bigfoot (14-May-2020)
"Another masterpiece from these authors. I don't want to lie, the gameplay is really hard, no difficult or tricky tasks, but a lot of new objects you never know how to interact with, if you can move them, shoot them...; at least the names give you hints and the places to use them are logic. Nice environments, very good design and history, well hidden secrets, enough ammo for the extra guns... A couple of levels very worth to play. Recommended!" - Jose (26-Dec-2019)
"A fairly short level although quite complex with new interactions. It is well lit and textured and pleasant to do.The big question I asked myself for a while was: how to get that annoying owl away? And the answer was not very clear, because putting charcoal grain on the barbecue seemed a little weird. I have a preference for the underground part in the second part, quite short but interesting (it's only my personal taste). Recommanded" - Drakan (28-Oct-2019)
"This level whilst being absolutely marvelous in three categories let's itself down with the counter intuitive game play and the tasks you are required to perform. Hence I found myself referring to the walk through time and time again trying to figure out what I was supposed to do with the various objects Lara had picked up. I cite the merging of a key and white paint to open a door. Painting a key white will not change the grooves and cuts in the key to open a door. Silly. The opening with Lara dropping the keys into the sewer was inspired but I really could not tell that is what had actually occurred. Walk through required right from the start unfortunately. Also I question that fellow Tomb Raider fans would bring a shotgun and a bomb to a Tomb Raider meet. I know that we sometimes don't see eye to eye but that seems a bit extreme. Lastly, what was the CD all about? Sorry but I suppose you had to be there at the meet to understand." - Torry (13-Oct-2019)
"The game contains some creative new designs and give me a brand-new experience. The owl, explosive room, the painting all impressed me.All in all, if you want to play a difficult but interesting level, play this one." - lilutong (01-Oct-2019)
"We can always count on this builder duo to provide an offbeat, entertaining raid. For those who attended Meet 20, I suspect that the house and environs have been crafted with meticulous care and accuracy. I followed Dutchy's walkthrough while playing, knowing in advance that many of the required tasks would be counter-intuitive. I was not wrong, as witness the painting of a key to change its color, the combining of forks to place on top of a pyramid, and the need to observe a crack on the bottom step of a staircase. I took my time here and kept myself engrossed for a little more than an hour. I was disappointed, however, that Lara chose that Godless song to play and sing along with to end the level." - Phil (30-Sep-2019)
"Firstly seemed like alot of work to get a Cat to move so off your singstar game. But that being said this is a really cool mini Level. Fantastic Puzzles and Really cool design work. Keep up the great work. :D" - JoeTheCrazyGamer (29-Sep-2019)
"Anyone who calls this game "just" a home level is rather underselling it in my opinion, as it's much more than that. This is truly charming and wonderful stuff and a joy to play. I've personally never been to Bad Grund before, but judging by Clara's previous "Lost in Sand" level, she, along with Sponge, appears to have recreated the city quite brilliantly. Often thought-provoking while never being obscure and unfair, with a wealth of great custom objects to utilise and admire, a palpable atmosphere and some humorous cutscenes added in for good measure, the best one being Lara trying her hand at the karaoke at the end. Great stuff." - Ryan (22-Sep-2019)
"Wow, couldn't be there, but I can see how much fun you guys had. Glad you shared this with us and it was brilliant, chapeau!" - Dutchy (19-Sep-2019)
"I’m pretty sure this isn’t my first visit to Bad Grund, but I could be wrong. In any case, this is very much my sort of level, with its wonderfully realistic creation of an actual place, its inventive puzzles and the use of some marvellous custom objects. Enemies are exclusively those antisocial biker gang members and Lara gets to meet some friends also, which must make a pleasant change for her. I really loved this visit and was reluctant to leave. Perhaps, if we’re very lucky, we may get a return trip at some future date." - Jay (16-Sep-2019)
"A Very Good Grund actually. I've seen this kind of game before but it's evolved. Quite. Rather nicely designed, with just the right atmosphere, this two-parter (interconnected) is very strongly puzzle-based and a delight to play. Just imagine you've been to the 20th anniversary celebration in Bad Grund. A true must for all trle members who aren't merely looking for spikes and traps and complicated jumps. As far as house levels go, this is it." - Jorge22 (15-Sep-2019)
