Reviewer's comments |
"A reboot-inspired manor, very rare and for now possibly the only one, so for this alone it's worth taking a look at. It is usual manor gameplay as in open all the rooms, find all items and finish, so if you play it correctly it might even be relaxing. But if you play it incorrectly, you miss the crowbar and go back a great distance, you miss the sword (placement in a linker room is not good) and get a lot of backtracking as well. Also to fix would be the gym where you have to climb the same way two times (three if you miss a switch). Speaking of the gym, the tutorial has congratulation lines for moves performed correctly, but misses hints for how to execute those moves. Finally, the sniper puzzle hint feels like being about a different object than it's really about. So, a lot to fix here, but, so maybe just in case keep the walkthrough bookmarked. We weren't outside, so maybe next time?" - DJ Full (21-Nov-2023) |

"Despite the high-quality textures and objects, this is still a Mansion Level;and you really can't
go into it with any higher expectations than usual. All the expected gameplay elements are present
and correct - run from one end of the house to the other, looking for assorted keys; shoot at every
object, just in case it's hiding something; work out the significance of the various static
cameras; don't miss the sneaky hang lever. The box of slides was hidden in a vastly unfair manner
(amid other objects on a shelf in a room absolutely filled with shelves containing objects);and
the level as a whole progressed very slowly. Nonetheless,I thoroughly enjoyed the Gymnasium; the
projected picture display was charmingly depicted; the swimming pool area was up there in quality
with something Titak could have put together; and the placid exploration and gentle ambience
was,at the very least, useful for soothing frayed nerves. Textures and lighting (although a little
dark and gloomy) were applied with skill; and the technical quality was very fine. The whole
thing took me well over an hour; but it was generally entertaining, and culminated with an
endearing Finale." - Orbit Dream (15-Dec-2021) |

"A mansion based off the recent games is something ive yet to experience, lara looks just
like her, the main objective is to find all the decorations needed for the christmas
tree, and to start off i wasnt fully enjoying i was so stuck for so long that i had to
refer to a walkthrough guide but my annoyance was short lived because this level turned
out to be really good fun, alot of work has been put in here with some great puzzles
and platforming i really did feel i was playing an expanded manor from ROTTR, loved the
pool room and gym which reminded me of TRL, the textures and objects were very good, the
only thing i really missed was an outside area, but this really ticks the box if you
like making and playing mansion levels like myself" - John (12-Apr-2021) |

"Winston has manufactured a scavenger for Lara in her home, in order to find decorations for her Christmas tree. I think this is the first time I've seen a home level themed after the most recent trilogy rather than the older games. Either way, it is nicely built, although the gym area has a bit of distracting wallpapering, and some areas are just a little too dark for my taste. As part of her hunt Lara solves a nice puzzle with some statues and a bit of acrobatics in the gym and pool areas, along with some target practice. A good choice for those hankering for an easygoing holiday raid. 54 minutes." - JesseG (26-Dec-2020) |

"Really a mansion level with a very good look and very well ornated and textured. All is magnificent here and your goal is look for 4 elements to decorate the tree in the main hall (good touch!); for this you must explore all the mansion looking for keys and doing some tasks. I really liked the 2 moveable knights puzzle, but the remaining gameplay is monotonous with a lot of backtracking and finding always dead ends, except the gymnastics in the pool room and in the gym. Except in the final flyby, there are not extra musics; only background melodies when you go inside certain rooms. Sometimes I missed more cameras to guide the player, but not always. A pleasant level nice to play but perhaps better following the walkthrough if you don't want to re-visit the same places often. Enjoyable anyway." - Jose (19-Feb-2020) |

"This one was not nearly as much fun for me as the previous
Advent level, Celtic Christmas Memory, even though it had
much more dominant a Christmas theme. First of all, it
seemed as though Lara had failed to pay her light bill, as
it was much darker throughout the mansion than befits the
Christmas season. Despite that, I was able to see what I was
doing with little difficulty and didn't need to light a
flare more than once or twice. More daunting was being
required over and over to find a key in one wing and then
trek back the other way to find the keyhole in another wing.
This stretched out the playing time for me to nearly an
hour, much of that being consumed by the necessary
backtracking. Still, the level is well put together and
provides an entertaining raid, albeit one of less than
stellar quality. I thought that the goal of finding various
accessories with which to deck out the Christmas tree was a
nice touch." - Phil (09-Feb-2020) |

"A nice level , peaceful and easy to play. The story was
lovely, I had an enjoyable time going through it. Another
thing which I like is the use of the new Lara model and the
updated Croft Manor, though I wish it was a bit better
modeled with more objects preferably and better lighting." - young Lara Croft (31-Dec-2019) |

"Perhaps the first level where you have to completely decorate an Xmas tree by yourself... in general, this is a decent 30 minute game, with many, many tasks around the mansion to be absolved before achieving your ultimate goal. Sometimes it borders on the obscure (the pushable luggage you have to push from the back and the hideout of the sheets) and some backtracking is also a bit annoying. The looks are slightly grim and not always festive, but still competently done and with fairly realistic lighting, there are also few mistakes in terms of texturing, but some areas like the long hallways and also the gym and pool areas are a bit monotonous. Overall a nice and at least slightly festive level fitting for the season. No secrets to find." - manarch2 (24-Dec-2019) |

"Initially, I thought that this was going
to be a regular mundane drudge around the
mansion, but it turned out to be pretty
enjoyable. There's nothing challenging to
accomplish, but the surroundings are
constructed with care and are quite
faithful to the original Rise and Shadow
installments and a couple of neat puzzles
keep things interesting. I only got
confused near the very end when I had
trouble placing the baubles, only to find
that there was one direction (North) I
completely overlooked. Ehh, it takes all
sorts. A pleasant jaunt and just right for
the season." - Ryan (19-Dec-2019) |

"I definitely didn't expect to see such a faithful interpretation (has the term 'trlemake' been coined yet?) of the Croft Manor as featured in modern games -- a mix of Rise and Shadow, with the swimming pool and gym areas inspired by Legend and Anniversary, respectively --, but I was definitely surprised. It felt fresh and yet very familiar. Gameplay took me a while to kick off due to the jumpswitch I failed to spot as I was noticing so many keyholes, but fortunately there's a "master key" which opens most doors you see. Your quest for the Christmas tree decorations is a rather simple one, when you look at the big picture, but might have you running around in circles every now and then. Still good fun, though. 55 minutes. 12/19" - Treeble (15-Dec-2019) |

"Christmas Treasure Hunt
8/8/8/8
At first, I thought this was a rather tedious load of running round the huge mansion looking for the various Christmas items, but as the game progressed I began to enjoy it more and more. True, there is a lot of exploring, but after a while I acclimatised to the - map' of the layout and began to recognise areas from the camera hints. The items are required to dress the Christmas tree and involve some fun raiding. Even if you're not a fan of mansion levels, they certainly feel a lot better at Christmas!" - Jay (13-Dec-2019) |

"A beautiful recreation of Lara's house from the survivor reboot version.
Puzzles are nice, not very complex nor original, but still entertaining and doing their function to make progress through the level.
As Christmas level, there are not enemies nor mortal traps here. (And I didn't find any secret). But the puzzles items and objects used along the level, were nice and also supports correctly the Christmas manor theme.
Lightning are not stunning, but it's enough to support the relaxing atmosphere of the level.
Generally, It took me some 50 min to complete." - Adngel (13-Dec-2019) |

"Thanks for the Christmas gift. Now, what do we have here? A
search for things missing in the Christmas tree, locks and
keys, a pick axe, Lara home alone and not even Winston
anywhere, even though he's mentioned a couple of times,
nice little puzzles to move along together with an
environment that doesn't look astonishing but still looks
good. I thought there was too little interactivity or maybe
that it was too directed. I was missing something for a
while until I remembered the slides, they had to be
somewhere. Enjoyable." - Jorge22 (12-Dec-2019) |
