Reviewer's comments |
"This is better than I remember from the beta. Ofc I frown at usual slow things like ladders, switches and mazes but the setting, the plot development and the general balance was okay otherwise. I would recommend this level for Halloween but I don't think it's actually a horror, and probably it wasn't even meant to be." - DJ Full (19-Nov-2023) |

"I was very much looking forward to this knowing that it's based on the film 'As Above So
Below' (great film and I recommend a watch) and the game doesn't disappoint. Of course,
artistic license has been used for most parts, but it keeps up with the theme and
atmosphere. There's lots of dark places throughout which I feel also adds to the atmosphere
and plenty of flares are given so there's no need to worry about getting lost in the dark.
I recommend checking out the levelset. Took 2 and a half hours to play" - izzynoodles (13-Dec-2022) |

"This level caught me on the wrong foot initially with a lot of small corridors at the start and less than exciting gameplay, but it got better later on despite several tedious parts (mostly - not too - large mazes or some backtracking parts). There are decent traps and platforming sequences that will keep you on your toes, and it was not unenjoyable to explore the depths of hell, although there could be more puzzles and creative tasks. The dark atmosphere is generally convincing, although sometimes the lighting is just off with odd dull (sometimes also too dark) parts. Texturing also could need some fine tuning at times but is generally effective. Enemies are well used here, as are some objects, but here and there it also shows this is a debut level with some wrongly placed doors and cameras. The builder shows some potential in this debut but also the need to enhance her skills, which is of course perfectly fine. Finished in 1:05 hours with all 12 mostly easy secrets found." - manarch2 (16-Aug-2021) |

"Not bad this two-level adventure, perhaps too dark (of course, it's underground) but at least I found enough flares. Good architecture and texturization, not hard tasks and secrets easy to find. Entertaining. Unfortunately I couldn't play the second level, perhaps because I never combined the sight with the revolver when playing the first one; once in the second level, after using the skulls to open the door, it's necessary to shoot a brass ball high up to open a door, but even when I remember to pick up the sight in the first level, this time the lasersight was not available in the inventory (bug?) so I was forced to abandone. Next time better look for good betatesters to test the levels." - Jose (20-Jul-2020) |

"Gameplay & Puzzles - I enjoyed the exploration mixed in with simple puzzles throughout the two levels. I enjoyed the exploration the most. I thought you did a great job of capturing the player here. A lot of puzzles are comprised of switches. But there are some decent pad trigger, anti-trigger, and pushable puzzles as well. I had to do a little trial and error with some things.
Enemies, Objects & Secrets - I liked the enemies here. I liked the Skeleton Harpy I didn't expect that. Objects were a problem for me. Some of them got in the way of the exploration and puzzles. Causing me a few deaths especially in that underwater maze which I did not like. And many of the statics used here were not colored correctly. Secrets were pretty nice.
Atmosphere, Sound & Cameras - Atmosphere is decent here. Maybe more focus on the geometry next time around. A few weird slopes are present and a few errors with land/water geometry. I wish there were a few more music track available. I was wondering if the music had any more tracks that you could have used here. More camera hints I thought would have been helpful here and some errors on the presented cameras here as well. But not too bad.
Lighting & Textures - The wallpapering is quite obvious here. Distracting actually. And a few spots have harsh lighting. But I liked the vibrant colors you used throughout. The texturing choices I thought was weak. Many are clashing and some didn't make sense to me.
Overall, another enjoyable level that kept me busy for two hours. Hopefully with a bit more care, we can see an even better level. =)" - StudBuddha (31-May-2020) |

"I neglected to review this level right after playing it and,
true to form, much of it has already escaped my memory only a
week later. What stands out most in my mind is that here we
have yet another level with two many flares and too little
light. When will builders ever learn that one is not an
acceptable substitute for the other? Anyway, I enjoyed this
two-hour adventure, which has its share of twists and turns.
It's quite well done for a debut effort and I hope we see more
from this promising builder. Dutchy's walkthrough was quite
helpful in getting me past the rough spots, but most of the
tasks can be accomplished by a player with little raiding
experience. Recommended." - Phil (23-May-2020) |
|
"Here we have skeletons, rivers of blood, and a pretty gem that is relatively simple to get a hold of, but hard to escape with. Combat, puzzles, and traps are all present in good amounts. The gameplay is pretty straightforward, but will still demand careful observation from the player in certain areas. I ran into a particularly nasty camera bug, a shot of a keyhole that kept popping back every time you let go of the look key. Thank goodness the next flyby made it stop. Texturing is good but some of the caves are wallpapered. My favorite part of the adventure was the very colorful lighting. Quite enjoyable overall, and should be an approachable raid for all types of players. 2 hours." - JesseG (23-May-2020) |

"I have some mixed feelings regarding this nonetheless
interesting debut. I thought the settings were a bit
confusing (not to the point of having too many things
that are only good to block the way - some of that
feeling, yes, but not the actual blocking stuff) and the
textures a bit on the rough on the edges side. Without
even trying to do some sort of betatesting, I still found
one fence at the start you can jump into but are then
unable to get out from and things such as the final timed
run over the cages which, for the simple fact that it is
totally unannounced, may end up making you go back and
run again or a ramp that you never really get to use, not
even for a secret or something (or so it seemed; you move
up a bit and you escape a boulder, then if you move some
more you get yet another boulder but the architecture
doesn't seem to let you escape it, which makes the whole
thing kind of useless and distracting) or a door that
opens with a key, and if you happen to take one measly
step back once you're entering, the door will close and
you won't be able to enter again. I also found that if it
was meant to convey some sort of horror feeling, it
actually didn't (I understand it may not be very easy). I
liked the torch puzzle and the rest of the game was quite
enjoyable, if not thrilling. All in all, if you think
it's a debut level, I think it shows potential. Maybe a
next game could use some betatesting and outside opinions
before it's released? But yes, I've seen much, much worse
- this one isn't even in the "worse" department, far from
it. So, what I'm looking for actually, is something
cleaner - which I'm sure Lady_Wise will be perfectly
capable of. So, looking forward." - Jorge22 (17-May-2020) |

"A great debut from Lady Wise, showing alot of potential for
her upcoming projects . Some glitches here and there, and
minor technical difficulties with a set of traps but other
than that I can appreciate the atmosphere and storytelling
of the adventure based on the movie . Here's to the next
one Wisey ." - Zuxuna (07-May-2020) |

"A really decently constructed debut effort
and despite a couple of things that irked
me, it was an enjoyable experience overall
and showcases the builder's definite
potential. The atmosphere is creepy and
gripping (aided by some unsettling and
tense music files and background audio),
the object placement is brilliantly
effective, enemies are frightfully fitting
and the gameplay progression never gets
totally dull or bogged down. I also found
the lighting to be quite nicely paced:
effective to the setting but never
oppressively dark. What I wasn't
particularly fond of were the labyrinthine
segments (which were a bit tiring), the
bland texturing in a few places, the at
times buggy cameras and the repetition of
some of the spike traps which ended up
being a bit of a chore rather than an
actual challenge. Still, the secrets are
fun to locate and it wholly provides an
action packed couple of hours of fun
raiding." - Ryan (05-May-2020) |

"This is a debut level that starts in some urban place and it leads you to some hell-ish caves. Your goal is to pick the Hidden Stone, and you have to go through various traps and puzzles. I liked the skull puzzle (though it was used two times, in level one and two), as well as the scale puzzle was a nice addition in my opinion. However, even though I found some rooms with very decent lighting, others had some non-existing lighting or lightin was just too strong that hurt my eyes (especially the big, red-ish rooms). I feel like there needs to be some contrast in future levels! Textures overall were decent (some repetitiveness and mirrored here and there, but there's not much to complain). However, there was an enormous ammount of cracks, which some builders usually overlook when they shouldn't. I took lots of notes as I played, but I'll only mention relevant ones: The flyby cameras are a bit abrupt in their movement, and almost all of them go through a wall or something; when you open a door, the camera target at the doors. However, since the doors go up, the camera ends up looking up in the ceiling and I can't see where it is or what is inside the door/gate (for context of where it is). I've also seen some climable walls that have no indications that it is actually climable (I just ended up trying because there was a ceiling and I was stuck for a long time). There was also a bit of inconsistency in textures, like a level apparently set in Paris having greek and egyptian textures in the caves.
I can keep going but I don't want this review to be too big. I hope my criticism was constructive enough to help you improve. You have great potential!" - SrDanielPonces (04-May-2020) |

"For a debut level this is a very assured work. I've not seen the film upon which it's based, but it must be an interesting one! Starting out in Paris, this soon descends to the depths and, ultimately, hell itself. The atmosphere is superb, with hellish lighting and unsettling sound files. The gameplay is well rounded and exciting; challenging without being - experts only' class. Enemies are appropriate and effectively used and I enjoyed myself a lot. On a more personal note, how lovely it is to have a builder from Northern Ireland and I look forward eagerly to her next level." - Jay (02-May-2020) |

"2 long levels very interesting to do. Lots of puzzles, keys to find, I really enjoyed this level. Maybe a little dark but we have enough flares and I do not complain. The texturing is not perfect with some stretched or packed textures, and thin walls. Some badly placed doors where one bumps into the collision block, very many cameras not always well adjusted but appreciable. I also noted that in some places there is a lack of textures or objects to show where to climb. Congratulations because for a 1st level, it is successful." - Drakan (28-Apr-2020) |

"Hi Lady <3 This time i do write you a review haha xD
I loved the TR AoD vibe for the whole level, i'm absolute
fan of that! The character model was just top notch and
the guns, ahhhhh!
Gameplay&Puzzles: the gameplay and puzzles were really
enjoyable! Not too hard, although it took me a fair share
to finish the whole level :) But i rather play a long
good level than a bad short one, so well done <3
Enemies, Objects & Secrets: okay here i go xD i shat
myself multiple times on the enemies and jumpscares xD I
had some trouble with finding levers and switches but
that might have just been me not looking good...it did
keep me from getting 1 secret due to not being able to
get back after the floor collapes, but non the less very
nicely done. Exploring everything as every TR game should
be!
Atmosphere, Sound & Cameras: once again i shat myself
with all the random evil demon sounds that were going
through my headphones xD i wasn't expecting the level to
take such a evil turn though but i was rather impressed
by it and it really kept my attention till the end!
Lighting & Textures: i loved the darker bits and the
feeling i was really in hell at some point! I've seen you
work on levels now on stream so i know how much work it
is and you have done an amazing job with this one! Can't
wait till the other will be here <3" - Dutchyraider (25-Apr-2020) |

"What a truly amazing debut, I read
about wanting to keep the TR3
atmosphere while having TR4 style
playing. Well, that succeeded really
well.
The chosen audio files were perfect.
A few more enemies would have been
nice.. lighting was also done well,
never too dark.
There were some texture mistakes, like
missing textures after flipping rooms.
But in future projects those things
can be easily found if you have your
level Beta tested" - Dutchy (18-Apr-2020) |
|
"Nice satanic TRLE which really is not one for the easily
scared, The traps and enemies were really well placed.
The only real Critism I have is most of the secrets easier
to find that the actual way to go. But other than that
its a good level 38/40" - JoeTheCrazyGamer (16-Apr-2020) |

"Really awesome debut from Lady Wise, truly shows she has a
knack for building. Starting from the city to the
underground portals to hell. Collect secrets and gold
skulls while navigating clever blade traps and water mazes
to find the Hidden Stone !! The enemies are all the hellish
creatures you would expect traversing you way through
hades. There's plenty of flares and ammo to complete the
quest and danger around every corner from hell hounds to
devilish atlanteans and a walking skeleton spirit before a
few puzzles to exit the level. So take a trip through hell
and find the hidden stone if you dare !!!!" - Killer Gameplayz (15-Apr-2020) |
