Reviewer's comments
"While this is a single-room level, it offers some quality with not much stretched textures, a few pick-ups, a switch and a short conversation with Anaya if you can call it that. It's not worth it unless you really want to play something TRL-themed." - OblivionJaw (05-Dec-2023)
"A brief visit in one room with a simple task to collect several items. Has nice objects but it would be better to be able to do something more here." - DJ Full (25-Feb-2023)
"A very short run through a replica of the TR Legend pool hall. 4 Secrets, 1 switch and a meeting with Anaya - that's it. Object choice, textures and the music convey the typical TRL atmosphere, but in the end it's just a very short test room without lighting or water textures." - vandit (26-Jul-2022)
"There is an odd fascination about pool rooms, as we actually have a few levels out there about just that - a room with pool. A bit pointless though, if you think about it. Here you can pick up 4 items around the pool, say hello to Anaya and after 2 minutes it is all over and you wonder why you even got here in the first place..." - MichaelP (24-May-2021)
"2 minutes , to complete the level , without rushing. Textures and objects are pleasant to look at, the background ambient audio is nice too. No work at all on the lighting. Not much else to say really." - eRIC (30-Mar-2021)
"Kinda hard to rate this one. Despite the general consensus, I do enjoy playing remakes now and then, but this particular case is a tad more specific. Not only it's a remake from Legend, which was built on a entirely different engine, but it's also one single area from the Croft Manor in that game. That said, it's (obviously) not a 1:1 remake although the smiliarities are there. The author even tried to justify this as a mini-level by adding four collectibles, but it's still going to be over before your know it. 5 minutes. 02/21" - Treeble (14-Feb-2021)
"Not a "real" level, but only a big room where you can look for some items. At least the author could prevent to finish the level until the player found all the artefacts. Not entertaining, sorry." - Jose (02-Feb-2021)
"Aside from the bafflingly out-of-place title music, this could charitably be regarded as a TR Chill-out level;where you do almost nothing at all,to the accompaniment of a relaxing ambient track. Textures look superficially acceptable, but are placed without much creativity;and no effort whatsoever has been made with the lighting. It's clearly a 'Test level';but titled in such a way as to come across as more marketable." - Orbit Dream (29-Jan-2021)
"The only positive thing to say about this level is that it's over after three minutes, so in a way better than some 30 minute level without relevant content. An agreeable first build with a few decent objects but no need to make this a first release." - manarch2 (27-Jan-2021)
"Well, at least the builder’s description of this very brief level is honest. There really isn’t anything to do except find some secrets. It’s a pleasant, relaxing setting, which appears to have been reasonably well reproduced, but I think most players would hope for a little more than that. Odd choice of music for the load screen too – no, you won’t get to meet Benny Hill!" - Jay (27-Jan-2021)
"I suppose that this TRLE was good for practicing some sort of aesthetic for a future game. It's not much to play or do in the level. I did really enjoy the music, as I have an over-appreciative affinity for music in general. But I wish there was more to say." - g12STL (27-Jan-2021)
"What it says on the tin, and not a jot or a tittle more: two pole swings, a brief dive, one switch, and you’re good to go. (For a speedrun, use only the switch, then proceed to the exit.) True to its template in that it’s built for the looks rather than gameplay, though if memory serves even Legend had a little bit more going on than that. Regarding objects, the Athena statues are absent, but the dolphin pushables are there (even if they serve no purpose, and you can’t even stand on them); Piega’s lion fountain has found another home; and I wouldn’t recommend hanging oil paintings in your pool room. Textures wallpapered, lighting non-existent, background audio bearable (at 7:22, about five times as long as the level itself, so it doesn’t get to loop); though if the “Yakety Sax” title tune makes you expect a parody, or anything entertaining really, you’re sorely mistaken; it’s all dead serious." - Mulf (26-Jan-2021)
"This was ... short and ... quite dread to be quite frank. I can see a good intention right there, but likely the knowledge is not enough to be effectively able to achieve some nice results. Marks may be low, but do not lose hope! You are gonna be sure able to build a good level in some time ^w^. Wolfy Regards." - Wolf7 (26-Jan-2021)
"Even in his (comparably) brief review, Mulf has worded my exact thoughts about this level more eloquently than I ever could. Pretty self-explanatory title, no gameplay worth mentioning and mere lip- service paid to objects, lighting and textures, plus slight modifications to Lara's movements. That's pretty much it." - Ryan (26-Jan-2021)
"For a 266MB download, I expect a lot more than a three minute gameplay session spent on collecting worthless rewards that aren't even difficult to find in the first place (especially when the majority of the filesize is taken up by bloated music files). So that just leaves us with the recreated room itself from TR Legend. And while some related background objects are present alongside the Legend manor tune, many other recognizable elements are not (such as the lowered plant-covered platform in the middle, a number of Athena statues, changing rooms and deckchairs for any occupants within Croft Manor to relax on). Anaya's been added too for some reason, but her presence doesn't really seem justified beyond immediately catching your eye for one of the obvious secrets. The rest of the overall presentation is similarly lacking, with disappointingly wallpapered texturing, flat lighting and an unconvincing atmosphere that only serves to further detract from the core experience. Hopefully this young builder will devote more than the bare minimum of effort to their future projects going forward, because this did not leave a good first impression of their skills or talent unfortunately." - Ceamonks890 (26-Jan-2021)
"Wow!!, this really has nothing good going for it. 266 mb of wtf!! I assume there was a coding error or something that made this the worst, and quickest level I have ever played. The level fell flat on atmosphere, texturing, enemies, and gameplay. Not to dishearten the builder, but you have to test your levels before sharing them. Given the size of the level, I was ready to knuckle down and have a couple of hours of fun, but that idea went south fast. Nevertheless, custom levels need more builders, so to the builder I say, "Practise makes perfect", you need a lot more practise." - Cerebralfire (26-Jan-2021)
