Reviewer's comments
"5 buttons, 3 roses, 3 minutes and then you wonder why you even got here. Just skip this one, really..." - MichaelP (22-Dec-2023)
"The ending rooms are the most interesting part of the this level. There's a little nice geometry. That's it. Big rooms with nothing but some stray objects, some weird progression and then you end. A test level in the most barest of terms." - OblivionJaw (02-Dec-2023)
"In an attempt to make a fleshed out level out of a handful of TR5 test levels, the author ended up creating another test level. It's a bit of a funny one as you can learn about two different behaviors, first the scientists who were stomping their feet while out of your sight but the moment you turned your attention to them, they'd freeze like deers under headlights, and also the water. In the official VCI levels Lara never had to swim so the animations were removed, as such you get the funny lack of animations. Otherwise you know the drill. Massive rooms, objects randomly scattered around, waferthin walls, etc. The triggers work, including finish trigger, so there's that. 5 minutes, 3 secrets. 04/23" - Treeble (09-Apr-2023)
"I don't think I've ever played something that unfinished, whichever engine I can think of. There are bugs everywhere, and I even managed to softlock twice in six minutes of runtime. Avoid playing at all cost, wait for the final version instead." - DJ Full (04-Aug-2022)
"If the purpose of a Test level is to evaluate what can be done with a particular editor (in this case, the unofficial TR5) then the answer, according to this particular test,is 'very very little indeed.' Perhaps it would be wiser not to release anything more, until a fully workable and substantial level has actually been built? (One point, generously given, for the protesting guards.)" - Orbit Dream (02-Apr-2022)
"This is even worse than the debut in that it has even less (close to no) gameplay, weird animations and horrible looks with all kinds of mistakes you can imagine throughout. Luckily, this is over after only a few minutes, which still feel like completely wasted time. The builder should consider not releasing any more levels unless he's really willing to improve." - manarch2 (28-Mar-2022)
"Oh dear, this is a bit of a shambles. I'm not entirely sure if the bugginess was intentional in this case, but it rather goes against the playability of it all. Again, a load of pickups you don't need, alongside some terribly buggy animations and pretty much nonexistent gameplay. If you're feeling in a gun-happy mood, then you can shoot the innocent workers but otherwise there's nothing else to see here." - Ryan (23-Mar-2022)
"A TR5 test level...I believe these are the most common type of TR5 levels. Perhaps because it's one of the hardest to build for? Either way, expect a few scattered VCI objects, including the HK gun, workers that you can choose to shoot or not, a couple of switches to open doors, and some easy secrets to nab. There's also some water but Lara is missing her animations for swimming, effectively making the pools a softlock. The rooms are very much wallpapered, although there is at least some attempt at variety between textures and lighting between areas, and the last area resembles the beginnings of a rooftop area. 4 minutes." - JesseG (21-Mar-2022)
"I thought the atmosphere was a step up here from their first level having a more unique simulation vibe with a fun "unfinished VR" justification for it being simple and kind of buggy, the closet you loot was a big improvement from their first level where you had to pick up dozens of items one by one. The gameplay here is a bit of a step down though, It doesn't quite feel like a "complete" adventure at this length and could benefit from being a little longer. The part at the end on the rooftops is probably the best visual I've seen in a Charles Kane level so far. Overall not that bad for a test level. I hope & expect to see the author improve and move on to bigger and better things." - Lorax (20-Mar-2022)
"Goodness, this is even worse than Reza's previous recreation of various TR5 test levels released literally a week ago prior with the exact same problems only further magnified. If it was evident enough already that Reza doesn't seem to care about overall quality with his releases, then its all the more obvious here (with you easily making a move for the exit without having to even do anything else, beyond pushing a few buttons to open some elevator doors and briefly enter a black void to arrive in a street that's inexplicably flooded. That's it). Anything else just wastes your time, including diving into any of the random pools which will get you softlocked (due to Lara lacking the proper animations for swimming or getting out of said pools, left standing stationary in mid-air with no way out). So overall, just another insulting level from Reza that really shouldn't have seen the light of day and if this is the type of consistent quality to expect from him going forward, then he should really quit while he's ahead and save all of us a few minutes we'll never get back." - Ceamonks890 (20-Mar-2022)
