Reviewer's comments
"By now the full game has been out for a while and is highly ranked, so I will look forward to eventually play it. In the meantime, I got to look at this pre-released demo and it seems a bit unnecessary as a pre-release. There is a lot cramped into a rather condensed Tomb of Seth style ebvironment and you get an amazing amount of key artefacts to find (5) and on top a whole bunch of golden skull secrets (7) - but with all the crawlspaces and jump switches it just does not seem a very engaging environment to raid. Maybe it works better in the full game, will be seeing it there eventually. 20 mins." - MichaelP (08-Feb-2024)
"The amount of raiding the author crammed into this little demo is amazing. It flows rather nicely and I only had trouble at one spot which I thought was impossible for Lara to get into so I ran about like a headless chook for a while. Then I actual tried to get into that spot and surprise, surprise dear old Lara just scooted straight in. Once you find the crowbar it was pretty straight forward. Only found two secrets. Some areas were pitch black but plenty of flares are available. No enemies to speak of, just a couple of bats." - Torry (22-Sep-2022)
"One of good demos, I felt like everything made sense except maybe I'd have this big door opened with those major pickups, what the plot seemed to build up to. If you are a fan of One Room Challenge or 20x20x20, this level could be one of these. Recommended." - DJ Full (17-Sep-2022)
"This is a (demo) level of nooks and crannies; dark corners; gaps too narrow to enter; and cramped spaces. The layout has been well designed (every small area connects with something - but it's not always easy to work out how or where),and the texturing is of a fine standard. The lighting was a little on the dark side, but enough flares were provided to light up the innumerable dark corners;while the atmosphere was appropriately claustrophobic. Perhaps as a consequence there was little feeling of threat (the one dog attack was announced by the appropriate musical sting, but the enemy itself was so darkly lit you couldn't discern it); and the complete lack of camera guidance meant that plenty of step retracing was necessary (although hardly a problem in such a small playing area). As befits the demo status, the level ends highly abruptly - but I enjoyed it,nonetheless. A decent and respectable debut." - Orbit Dream (16-May-2022)
"A promising debut effort, and also a demo that shows decent promise. The surroundings are decently constructed (although too dark in a few spots), the atmosphere and music is used well enough and the gameplay is decent for the time it lasts, although rather lacking in the puzzle aspect and there's a bit too much crawling around in dark corners for my liking, also the secret hunt was a bit of a non-event. Not bad at all, but needs more fleshing out to become a truly exciting raid." - Ryan (15-May-2022)
"This fairly short demo of about thirty minutes is obviously intended for future expansion, as you find ammo for weapons not available here, and it presents a decently challenging raid in a setting that I found much too dark. The standard pickups have been given arcane names, a device that should be discarded in the full version, there are too many secrets (seven) for a change, and they give the player no meaningful reward for finding them. A promising debut, however." - Phil (14-May-2022)
"The level shows the builder didn't rush things and carefully designed his level before releasing it to the public, with decent texturing and lighting and the like, but this doesn't necessarily mean it's a very fun level. Set almost completely in very cramped areas without larger halls and actually a lot of crawling involved, the level is very simple in gameplay design with a few basic platforming sequences and traps before things are over after just 12 minutes and never gets in any way creative in terms of tasks or puzzles. This is okay for a first work so I hope that with some more work in those regards he can produce some fine levels in the future. Found all 7 easy secrets." - manarch2 (06-May-2022)
"Not too long demo, at about 20 minutes ending abruptly, the action takes place in small sized areas where the player uses Lara's basic moves while searching for a few key items. The tasks are easy , with only a few enemies and traps , and so is the finding of secrets. We can see that the builder masters well the shaping of the blocks, texturing and lighting are quite correct too for a first level. Some customisations are seen. The best here for me was the fact that some places seemed reachable but weren't yet, and after a while you start to understand the builder's intent for what you have to do. This was well done and spices up the exploration. Good job." - eRIC (05-May-2022)
"First I need to say I LOVE the remixed TR4 main menu theme. Just as beautiful as the original music, and I usually don't like remixes, but this is a nice exception. The exploration is good, challenging if you don't keep you eyes open and I like that the weapons are not in obvious places. Some small spaces look accessible but aren't, others don't look but are, so I suggest the author to avoid that in the complete editon. And I expected to see scorpions. I like the Lara model, a mix of TR3 and 4 that doesn't look out of place. Good game, I had fun and I'll be waiting for more." - Bruno-Oyaji (04-May-2022)
