Reviewer's comments
"Well what do you know? Delca delivers with yet another wonderful adventure. This time on Christmas! There isn't any doubts that this level is quality all around, and you'd be wrong to think otherwise. So much care and detail went into the whole level, as well as the additional modes to spice up your experience, and it's not talking about the mini-games themselves! The new Home For Lara is extremely beautiful, albeit empty, and the texture detail to everything is nothing short of phenomenal! I can't say a lot about the mini-games, in order to avoid the spoilers, but one thing I can absolutely say is that they are given the quality that they deserve, and the challenge of doing 100% for the whole level is worth it, with the reward mentioned in the description of the game." - OblivionJaw (10-Dec-2023)
"This a short semi-epilogue to the final release of Kitten Adventure, with some more expanded and difficult versions of the mini-games in it. The house area you start in looks excellent, as well as the cave leading to the main content. The actual mini-game gameplay takes place in very abstract void-like spaces, but all the variants do a good job keeping things clear and staying with the snowy theme. The objects are also great looking as well as providing a lot of the gameplay in the mini-games.
While it's essentially a short mini-game collection, "mini-game" makes it sound a bit less than it is, as each builds on base TR gameplay in interesting ways. There's also a difficulty selection, and, while I found it fine on Expert, there's an easier mode for less experienced players, as well as a harder one with limited saves. The coin secret system also shows up again, and gives some extra challenge to each mini-game, as well as providing a short showcase of objects across the first 5 TR games if you find them all (although the pop-up when you get the last one blocks the screen quite a bit when you're likely in the middle of a challenge). This is a bit too short and straightforward to be up there with Kitten Adventure itself, but it's a great extra that builds on some fun concepts that showed up in that." - Mman (25-Jul-2023)
"We find Lara and some characters from the previous adventure in this sequel to Kitten Adventure for a new Christmas adventure this time. Like the GOLD levels of the original tomb raiders, this adventure is a bit of a Kitten Adventure GOLD. There are 3 difficulty levels so anyone should be able to do it, even beginners. The mini games are all really great and offer an originality that we didn't have with the level editor until now. I congratulate Delca for this adventure which will remain as one of the best Christmas levels ;) ." - Bigfoot (19-Apr-2023)
"A series which could be its own franchise gets a straightforward yet very worthy epilogue - or maybe it's just a paws? Will we get kittens for Easter or Halloween? Let's see..." - DJ Full (17-Apr-2023)
"Very short level, less than 25 minutes on the statistics screen. You just play 7 minigames. If you liked the minigames in the author's previous level (Ultimate Meow), you will like this level. You can play the games in any order, and you can skip the ones you don't like. Some of them are very easy, others are harder. I liked them all. I think anyone can get something out of this." - tuxraider (15-Apr-2023)
"For the most part this is a highly enjoyable raid that most players will find to be somewhat off the beaten track. Playing it brought back childhood memories of visits to the amusement park when I would browse through the penny arcade. Unfortunately, the idyllic wintry surroundings that first greet the player don't last very long, as the remainder of the level consists of seven different playing areas with assorted challenges on the way to collecting a maximum of 70 paws. The "short" designation is rather misleading, because although my total playing time was just less than 30 minutes, I spent several hours over the course of two days trying to get through, loading and reloading some 136 different savegames in the process. You can choose between playing in "standard" and "expert" mode (there's also a save crystal mode, which I didn't even think about trying). I started off in Expert Mode, and all went reasonably well until I reached the final challenge, the one with those damnable walls, and after numerous attempts I just gave up trying to conquer it. Having gone this far, I decided to replay the whole thing in Standard Mode (my only choice, really) and found to my surprise that there was little if any difference between the two modes as far as gameplay is concerned. Indeed, it seemed to me that a couple of the tasks were incrementally harder to navigate in Standard Mode than in Expert Mode! The crucial difference, of course, lies in the fact that in Standard Mode I was finally able to conquer Challenge 7 and finish the level, but not without considerable effort. In short, this is a nice change of pace with a level of difficulty that stops just short of becoming frustrating, so beginning players should probably stay away." - Phil (10-Apr-2023)
"I played this around Christmas and cannot remember everything, but this was a fairly refreshing and unique game. Despite the net playtime being just 17 minutes at my end some of the tasks took some tries, especially the platforming with traps approaching you (for a change). Maybe the puzzle with the squares could've had a more intelligent solution and here and there I could imagine more elaborated tasks had spiced up the thing some more, but, to be honest, I'm baffled by some of the technical expertise and scripting in this game. Certainly one not to miss!" - manarch2 (04-Apr-2023)
"KITTEN ADVENTURE: A Very Meow Christmas
Another beautifully crafted level by Delca, which of course features kittens. In general, I loved the level so much, especially the minigame approach gameplay.
Gameplay
I loved the minigames that delca presented to us, you have a choice of 7 minigames which vary and you have to complete them to get presents. The minigames are very refreshing and fun, I really loved the moving wall and rollingball minigames. I think no one ever tried to do this sort of gameplay so huge props to Delca for crafting this.
Atmosphere & Room structure
Atmosphere is of course great with a small house and a cave where you choose the minigames to play (unfortunately you can't do anything inside the house :( but it was very nicely decorated).
I think the environment was nicely crafted so I have no further comments.
Lighting and textures
Textures were very nicely applied (as usual) and nicely lit, again no comments as I did not spot anything bad.
Summary
Overall, this is a great level that everyone should play. It is original and refreshing. I also love the Dead By Daylight reference behind the house.
pros
original and refreshing gameplay with easy minigames cute environment and well-decorated house side-quest to collect snowflakes which was fun. as usual nice story-telling Things I missed
I wish that the house was part of the gameplay (for example put presents after colleting them from the minigames :D) Neutral
none
cons

Review by Kubsy" - Kubsy (03-Apr-2023)
"An absolutely brilliant Christmas adventure created by Delca. The quality of levels from this author is formidable, and here he gives us a TRLE with seven diverse mini-games with interesting mechanics. Fall Guys was a great inspiration from this level and It's really great that a builder can do levels like this. I only played the "Standard Mode" before doing this review, but I watched a lot of people playing the other two game modes and looks like well balanced. The quality of graphics, sound/music, and atmosphere is awesome, something this author knows how to do with great detail and care. I didn't find any bugs or problems in my gameplay. The Level Editor allows us to use all our imagination to create unique levels, and this is a great example. Another inspiration for builders looking to create innovative levels. Even for me, in case I try to return to the TR4/TRNG engine in the future. Highly recommended for a Christmas level, which doesn't involve combat and brings a diversity of gameplay and so much fun. I finished in about 25 minutes, collecting all 70 paws (which allowed me to get the bonus, another interesting addition)." - Leoc1995 (01-Apr-2023)
"I've played this level some time ago but reviewing it just now

Delca did it once again and made a really great yet short level for xmas. Very unique idea of having various challenges to accomplish. All of them are really fun and not repetitive whatsoever.

Visually it is just top-notch, everything is so well made and polished. Also, we have to again collect all paws which makes gameplay very rewarding :)

It's an awesome xmas gift and really great level as well. Looking forward for another level from Delca UwU" - Mahetus (01-Apr-2023)
"Well, this is something new. Seven minigames, six of them being really fun and one being so simple that it actually took me a while, because I thought I had to shape the squares in a way to make them resemble the numbers....lets say I was overthinking, but I still think that one was a little bit dull. Anyway, there is some nice out-of-the-box platforming in all of the remaining tasks and if I had to choose my favorite, it would probably be the one with the incoming walls that you have to avoid. Even though I feel some of the tasks could have been more elaborate with less repeating rounds, it's still a unique approach to level building and I hope it might become a series of similar levels. There's also the additional challenge of collecting 70 paws for a cool video reminder of five original TR games. I beat the game on expert difficulty, but I never saved my game mid-task, so I guess those are the circumstances for the hardest one? Officially, I finished it in 20 minutes, but in reality it was about 45 with all the restarts....Definitely recommended, but prepare your fingers for some action." - Tolle87 (01-Apr-2023)
"At last on trle.net, wonder why it took so long... Part of the Advent Calendar, I rather liked its clean design, and the original idea behind it. I found quite challenging though, namely the part with the falling snow balls, and the one with the timed arches. Not typically Christmassy, but definitely festive with all it takes. I rather enjoyed it." - Jorge22 (27-Mar-2023)
"It's great to see this adventure finally being available on general release and if you're looking for something that's both exquisitely charming and different from the norm, then download this right away. I did play this as part of the 2021 Levelbase Advent Calendar, so here comes this belated review. The premise is intriguing in that Lara has to collect various presents by completing varying minigames, all of which have their own challenge, so that the Kittens' Christmas celebrations can go ahead as planned. Some of them are more difficult than they initially appear (for instance the multiple boulder traps were a bit on the annoying side), but I absolutely loved the obstacle course segment as it required careful manoeuvres but not too much precision. Net game time for me was just over an hour (that's counting my repeated attempts), but there is the option to replay on a higher difficulty level if you wish, but I personally didn't. Still, this absolutely has to be experienced for the fantastic setting and premise alone, not to mention the very sweet story. Totally heartwarming." - Ryan (27-Mar-2023)
"An amazing, very creative, and innovative level. Delca once again shows us his skills to create a wonderful level with inventive gameplay ideas. The level isn't your typical classic raid. Instead, we have several really fun mini-games, the difficulty of which is determined by the mode we select at the start (I have to brag that I beat the game on the hardest difficulty :P). The mini-games rely on platforming, avoiding obstacles, puzzling, etc. There are 70 collectible paw coins and for collecting them all, we get a really nice bonus video. The visuals are of very high quality. The atmosphere is lovely, and I especially loved the beginning area of the level, which was beautiful. All in all, this is definitely a fun level to play that surprises with its innovative ideas. It's also quite relaxing. Highly recommended :)" - BlackWolfTR (27-Mar-2023)
"As usual Delca gives us a game that's a joy to play. I have to commend Delca for going all in with these minigames, I can only imagine the time effort and tricks used to make this game happen. The hardest difficulty seems like it would be good fun for those looking to challenge themselves. Collected 70 paws, thought the reward was pretty great. Recommended to everyone, It won't take too long to play and is good fun the whole time." - Lorax (27-Mar-2023)
