Reviewer's comments |
"One useless revolver, one switch, one key and a few jumps and swims and the usual 3 golden
rose secrets. Over in 5 minutes, but at least it looked a tad bit better than the previous
releases." - MichaelP (23-Dec-2023) |

"A peru-styled level that basically is two massive rooms. I'm not joking, it's one normal and
one water room. There is so little effort here that there's nothing to even say about this.
The gameplay that there is there basically is nullified by the fact there are so many slogs
in such a span - 5 minutes? Skip this." - OblivionJaw (02-Dec-2023) |

"Another attempt by this builder to come to grips with the TR5 genre. It's obviously
proving a tricky task but I suppose one has to give him points for tenacity. Again, it's
very brief and the gameplay minimal, but at least the environment is somewhat appealing." - Jay (05-Jun-2023) |

"Again very short and extremely basic, but it's overall a bit better than the builder's previous efforts, with some lighting work and a tiny hint of gameplay. But to be honest I'm not sure if every step of the builder's learning curve needs to be published..." - manarch2 (15-May-2023) |

"Structurally more elaborate than the preceding level. Again 3 secrets in a series of large rooms, however with slower pacing and more geometry this time. We get a revolver but never a thing to shoot. Eventually, a pickup hunt ends in a keyhole which also concludes the level. Recommended, just like anything short to play." - DJ Full (13-May-2023) |

"For the most part, I could simply copy and paste my review to the previous release from the builder. There seems to be more work here done to level design so you get a bit of platforming here and there, but on the other hand there are no enemies (I suppose following the same style as JHN's original levels, if my mind serves me). Missing animation for underwater pickups and the end of the world is quite within reach on your way. 5 minutes, 3 secrets. 05/24" - Treeble (07-May-2023) |

"Finally a level that isn't a remake of very old test levels. I would say Reza did a good
job and slightly improved with this one but he still has a lot to learn.
The Gameplay: Gameplay is extremely basic and the level is too short. There's nothing to
do essentially. There are 3 golden (?) roses to find but they aren't tricky to find
either, there is also some basic platforming, and swimming. I would advise to explore the
wad (or assemble your own one) and just think of a gameplay with the items you have in the
wad. Although the problem is that in TR5 engine you have a lot of hardcoded stuff which
will be even harder for you because practically no one uses the TR5 engine.
Textures and lighting: Textures were nicely applied, there were a lot of stretching or
misshapen textures, there also a lot of cracks. Lighting was ok but random because there
was a random red light in a random spot. Lara had a strong blue light in her - probably
TR5 shenanigans.
rooms and atmosphere: The atmosphere was pretty basic with just cubes and no attempt at
making slopes and interesting geometry. The author should practice more of that. The
ceiling was very low aswell.
Conclusion: It's a good attempt this time at building the level. I would suggest the
author to do this:
- Switch engine - again this is because of how hacky TR5 is, that's why you don't notice
too many TR5 engine levels. I would suggest that the author uses TR1-4 engines, TRNG, or
try out TEN. I know the author thinks that TR5 levels are underrated but again with all
the hacks and dirty stuff that is coded in the engine, it prohibits from building the
level.
- Change from DxTRE3D to Tomb Editor - Tomb Editor is a new editor, it's very simple to
use and modern. optional of course.
That's all I can say at the moment. I wish Reza good luck with building." - Kubsy (01-May-2023) |

"Marginally more substantial than this
builder's previous effort, which is a very
small improvement, but at least it is one.
That said, it is still a pretty basic effort
with rather meagre gameplay apart from a few
jumps and a bit of swimming. A couple of
Lara's animations are also messed up, a few
sounds are misplaced and the level ends
again without the feeling of accomplishment
that I always look out for. Still, getting
there...slowly but surely." - Ryan (01-May-2023) |
