Reviewer's comments
"This was an excellent level although it contains very little gameplay, expectedly, since it is a small preview of the full version. During the game you have to solve a nice switch puzzle, complete couple of jumping tasks, avoid few traps, and destroy some droids. It probably goes without saying that the environment looks great and very immersive. Based on this short demo, and having played previous levels by Mr XY, I am sure that the full version will be amazing." - Samu (04-Oct-2023)
"What an amazing demo! I can't wait for the full release! The atmosphere and the enemies are just so incredible, very good job on this one, you should feel proud about it! Gameplay-wise maybe a bit too easy, but this is a demo afterall, more challenges shall come with the full game, I bet ahah! I have 2 tips regarding these enemies. If you add random voices at the start of fights (like, for example, one of the druids saying roger roger) it will add more personality to them and make the game shine even more. Also, they felt too easy to kill, maybe increase slightly their health points. Thank you for making this TRLE. I'm already expecting it to become a must-play in the future!" - LOTRKingluis (24-Aug-2023)
"Impressive Star Wars based demo! The look, the atmosphere, the music, the gameplay, everything is perfect, I don't know what could be done better. The difficulty of the level is rather easy which will definitely change in the full version, so less points for that. Well done!" - Crofti (12-Aug-2023)
"I must say that this demo is a very beautiful made masterpiece, the ambiance is pleasant as well as surprising, and has a balanced difficulty I am looking forward to playing the full version of it. A must-play for those who didn't!" - AgentCroft77 (10-Aug-2023)
"Another appetizing demo from Mr XY , maybe with less 'meat' and shorter than the Emporia demo, still a very good time spent here where we can appericate the rather user-friendly side of the gameplay and all the new materials." - eRIC (03-Jul-2023)
"I've always considered the visuals in a custom level to be at least as important as the builder's gameplay decisions. In this little teaser of a bit less than a half hour we have the best of all possible worlds: spectacular surroundings in an outdoor, daytime (a rare combination these days) setting, innovative enemies with flashy new weapons and a move not often used (a side ledge jump). For obvious reasons a demo is not often deserving of top scores, but this one is an exception to the rule, especially if the full version lives up to the promises hinted at in this brief introduction. I might note in passing that I had to download this demo at the Hungarian site, as it wasn't available in my case at trle.net." - Phil (16-Jun-2023)
"What a superb looking level. Great architecture and texturing. Nice range of enemies and puzzles. Well worth playing." - StormChaser (08-Jun-2023)
"When a demo leaves you really, really wanting more you just know the full version is going to be a success. The Star Wars atmosphere is beautifully created in this visually stunning level, right down to the adorable R2D2 collectibles. Obviously, the gameplay is short, but what was involved was great fun and within the capabilities of most players. I do hope we don’t have to wait too long for a full game – yes, I am greedy" - Jay (05-Jun-2023)
"I mean, just... wow! This almost makes me wish I was a Star Wars fan so I could appreciate every single nuance better, but as a Tomb Raider fan I was plenty satisfied with what's on offer here. It's absolutely gorgeous, the town design is pretty grounded and does look like a place people could actually have existed in instead of a mere playground for our girl, and all the battle droids definitely drive home that Star Wars aesthetic I know so little about (I've watched the movies and played a few games, but no matter how hard I try I can't find myself invested in it). Hoping a full project eventually comes out of this, but if not, this is still a brilliant showcase of how far, far we've come. 20 minutes, 3 secrets. 05/23" - Treeble (28-May-2023)
"25 minutes, it's a demo. From the sample, I'd very much like to see the full works though. I'm not sure there's that much resemblance between at least the original Star Wars and this offer, but there's a bit of everything, not overly complicated at all, from blade to laser traps, dark side troops, cool movements, a puzzle, three small secret R2D2s (of which I only found a couple), a rather interesting explosion and those funny hydrant guns, plus a final timed run to get to the end gate. The settings look pretty good, pretty clear. Suitable for all." - Jorge22 (16-May-2023)
"Ok so I’m not really a fan of Star Wars but I don’t think you have to be to enjoy this small little themed demo. There is a neat little colour pattern puzzle in this level but gameplay is mostly simple and light once you get on board with some of the new moves. The setting is sunny daytime with some gorgeous beige textures as we make our way in and out of buildings and rooftops in this small little city area. There is some exploring, climbing and platforming with some drone and troop attacks, then we have laser, blade and steam traps and even an cool explosion moment to keep you on your toes from time to time. I will look forward to a full version as this was delightful for the 20 mins it unfortunately only lasted for." - John (15-May-2023)
"You have a unique stlye of using these pleasant beige palettes, which is quite nice to look at! Love the details of objects and textures, the overal visual is very "pure" and eye-catching. Your new ledge jump features are so much fun, the animations are smooth and demanding. Regarding the gameplay I really enjoyed it, especially the explosing wall part puzzle. Very nice use of drones and droids, they were not too much or too few. Considering it is a demo, the lenght is more than fine. Cute collectible item :-) Can't wait to play the full adventure, nice work Kevin!" - Zolee (10-May-2023)
"It is a very short adventure (less than 20 minutes) but clearly promising in terms of graphics and the Star Wars environment, which is very well developed. Simple and fluid, but enjoyable. We have to wait for the final version!" - CalrOsario (08-May-2023)
"Quality is what you expect from Mr XY and that's exactly what you get. Great homage to Star Wars throughout the level (and I spotted a pictorial homage to Heidelberg too) with excellent attention to detail, wonderful evocative atmospherics, some new enemies and a nice puzzle. Awaiting the full version with much anticipation. (Would also like to see the full Emporia - Lost in the City version too please Kevin!)" - Adrian (06-May-2023)
"As always with Kevin's levels, I'm never disappointed and even though this level is a demo, it's no exception. I don't know too much about the Star Wars universe but according to the images on the net, indeed the city that Kevin managed to create is quite similar to the images I saw. congratulations. The game is not very difficult so even beginners will be able to complete it. I got the 3 secrets too. I can't wait to play the game in its entirety and I congratulate Kevin for this little teaser of his next adventure." - Bigfoot (06-May-2023)
"Very short demo level which looks really great. Shiny textures, many custom objects and enemies. It's set in a well designed small town-like street. That explosion halfway in the level was an interesting touch and contributed much to the good atmosphere. Gameplay is fairly basic, some running around, some climbing and getting past obstacles, shooting enemies, finding a key. The door lock puzzle is slightly more interesting. There are some new/custom moves, but there are hints which should make them easy to use. This level is probably suited for very inexperienced players. One potential bug: the game told me I could interact with that other human, but it didn't work, but didn't seem to break anything. In conclusion, this makes a really good impression. I'm looking forward to the complete level." - tuxraider (06-May-2023)
"What a wonderful little teaser this was, but unfortunately it was over too soon. The attention to detail to the source material (from what I could gather anyway, I don't profess to be the biggest Star Wars aficionado) is quite frankly staggering, from the objects and the enemies, right down to the music, the neat little introduction and the city you explore. The environments are absolutely stunning and I've always been a sucker for the BtB Greece assets, which are very nicely used here. In terms of gameplay, Lara gets to utilise a couple of her new moves, combat a few droids and drones, solve a nifty button combo puzzle, explore the rooftops and conquer a little timed run before it ends somewhat abruptly. If a full version is in the works (and judging by the end, that looks rather encouraging), alongside Emporia, then the gaming community is in for an absolute treat! Definitely recommended." - Ryan (05-May-2023)
"This is an excellent serve as a demo, promising good things both in gameplay and immersion. Every aspect of building has been customized here, but nothing crosses the line. Short but recommended for sure." - DJ Full (05-May-2023)
