Reviewer's comments |
"Very short and consisting mainly of huge empty rooms, this is a faint echo of the Rome
levels, sadly. There’s a morsel of platforming, gladiators and lions to shoot and a boss
ending with that giant roman soldier statue." - Jay (15-Oct-2024) |

"A bit of a weird release. It's definitely an improvement from the author's previous releases from what I remember, and it seems to pack more gameplay with a lot of platforming as you work your way upwards a very tall chamber, but I guess there lies the problem. The rooms (except for the connecting corridors) are all massive and boxy, mostly empty with the odd object placed here or there, and while generally speaking there's a bit of care as far as textures are concerned I think lighting was the flat default all around. I reached the finish trigger with a handful of closed doors, too. 10 minutes. 01/24" - Treeble (07-Jan-2024) |

"At least this one works correctly from a technical point of view, but it is incredibly
simplistic in all its aspects. Gameplay is a brief 5 minutes and fully obvious, rooms are
huge and square and with basic texturing and the only small moment that stuck with me was
how the hammer guy came alive and got up - that looked kind of cool. Not badly done really,
but still only for hardcore TR5 building enthusiasts to complete their collection." - MichaelP (13-Dec-2023) |

"Very short level lasting 5 minutes with not much to do except dealing with a few enemies
(what atre these lions doing on this very high ledge ?) , climbing and making jumps.
I did not deal with the Roman warrior as i do not like this enemy, probably i missed a
secret there ; and it seems there are other doors left closed, or maybe it was just for the
decor ? The texturing is clean while not very varied and a few static objects are not
sufficient to fill the void of some of the rooms." - eRIC (04-Dec-2023) |

"Phoenicians. Responsible for inventions of alphabet, amphorae and dxtre3d. "Apparently not so good at architecture", we may think as we stroll through their sacred grounds in search of another lost invention: the Phoenician Colosseum Cookie. We fail to get it as we're thrown back to the main title too early, but before that happens we experience a good combat progression reinforced by a secret firepower. Recommended." - DJ Full (03-Dec-2023) |

"Well what do we have here? A test TR5 level attempting to remake a previous level- from TR3
if I am not mistaken. If you expected anything different from the original there is new
rooms but the fact that they are extremely bland and just wallpapers takes away from any
visual positives. Lighting is barely present, with objects having no color adjustments and
either being too bright or too dark. The rooms themselves have little textures and are
nearly completely square boxes with some exceptions. Enemies are present but the two lions
in the tall platforming section are just cruel and take away from the gameplay of the level.
Is there anything you haven't seen in other TR5 levels? Nope. This is worth a skip if you
don't feel like launching Tomb5.exe again." - OblivionJaw (02-Dec-2023) |

"More brisk TR5 action from this builder,
this time in an environment reminiscent of
Turbo Pascal's Fenician Temple 4 (curiously
exotically renamed). Again, the gameplay is
rather rudimentary and minimal, with a few
enemies to shoot, a couple of keys to find,
a somewhat sneaky secret and a quite abrupt
ending before Lara gets the chance to lay
her hands on the object of her quest. At
least this offering looks slightly more
attractive..." - Ryan (02-Dec-2023) |
