Reviewer's comments
"It is an unconventional level. I'll start with the most notable point, the atmosphere. Good combination of elements that interact with each other, with very well-crafted cinematics. It shows that the designer has creativity. However, many things about the level leave something to be desired (for my personal taste). I have already played other levels by the same author and it always has the same thing, I don't know how to say it... Lack of elaborate design, too orthogonal, without adequate architecture. The game is made in a monastery but it easily looks like a citadel??. Repeated textures, which do not combine so much with the ornamentation. I have played other levels by the author and the same chapel is repeated, with the same statics. The gameplay is fluid, but it has few variations compared to other levels, so I see that the author stagnates in the use of resources. For an engine like the tr4 that has so many possibilities to vary with the lights, there are not many variations. Everything looks very flat. I think the strongest and most notable point is in the cinematics of the scenes. I encourage Marcos to make another level, but to be encouraged to incorporate variants in lights, textures, architecture, and so.." - raiderbunsch (21-Jun-2024)
"Interesting level with nice details and unusual gameplay. It's actually much like the builder's previous levels (the levels probably form a series?). If you liked the older levels, you'll probably like this one too. This builder adds lots of interesting details and unusual objects, but the room layout looks bland. They're too square, the textures too much look like repeated tiles. I liked the creativity and the atmosphere of the level, and how you had to get by without weapons at first. On the other hand, unusual objects and gameplay elements are likely to get you stuck. Some things I would never have figured out on my own. For example that almost invisible "brick switch" was too hidden. I had the feeling it was not as mean as previous levels. (I played The Chalice before, which gave me much more problems with getting stuck.)" - tuxraider (06-Apr-2024)
"All great except from THAT crawlspace and THAT climb. First I climbed without a key, second time without another key, third time purposefully, and fourth because the shortcut came too late and too hard to find. Some damage is involved but you have a healing place which doesn't waste medikits. Same complaint about visuals not universally acclaimable as always, but the immersion is splendid and the story is wonderful. Another gem from Marcos, recommended like everything else he made." - DJ Full (25-Mar-2024)
"Marcos' levels always provide a charming, quirky and creative raid and this generally follows that trend. It's one of his shorter offerings, but provides a couple of moments where you have to ponder your next move. A little light on puzzles in the conventional sense, but no matter. The atmosphere is appropriately spooky and the cutscenes/objects are neat touches, as we've come to expect. Wasn't hugely fond of the unpredictable attacks from the guards though, particularly the grenades, especially when you start weaponless and have to get to safety. A nice raid nonetheless." - Ryan (17-Mar-2024)
"Marcos can always be depended upon to provide an entertaining and offbeat raid. However, I feel that the bathroom gig he has used more than once should be abandoned. Much of the level is played without recourse to any weapons to defend against the posted guards, but several of them are eliminated by friendly aliens. The revolver and plenty of rounds are provided to vanquish the boss guy near the end. In my case, a shotgun became available after all enemies were dead and gone, but I suppose it's possible for it to be collected before the boss fight. The builder says a crossbow is also available, but I was unable to find it. The two secrets can be easily missed if the necessary preparatory actions are not taken, but in any case they provide nothing of tangible value and can be ignored if the player so chooses. The quirkiness factor is strong here, as in most if not all levels by Marcos, and it offers a pleasant change of pace." - Phil (14-Mar-2024)
"Another small and creative level from Marcos accompanied again with your 2 small creature friends .. the atmosphere here doesnt dissapoint , and although u can get some spooky or scary vibes sometimes always something funny or surreal happens soon after and you can relax or grab a smile . thats a talent over there . Gameplay is the usual as in others Marco levels , some 'nasty' exploration , thinking outside the box moments, nice building story ! The ending was a little rush or personally didnt approve , could be executed somewhere else for me and not so simple . Tip : revolver is not a weapon u can manually aim like shotgun . See you in space" - Petaludas (08-Mar-2024)
