Reviewer's comments |
"new level from an author who came back years later with this project; surprisingly, it's
very well done and interconnected (even though I don't like this kind of gameplay, it's a
straight line so you don't feel uncomfortable). Nonetheless, the gameplay is really wide
with some very interesting and open ideas, and that's what I like! The idea of going down a
huge hole and coming back with the Jeep was great to avoid a long backtracking. A positive
point is that the gameplay is not as complicated as the exploration because you have to go
to the different HUBs to find an item to use in the towers (the main thing, I believe), and
the floors have various types of puzzles (I don't know what trick the author used, but you
just have to use a trigger or antitrigger to get back to the original position). Looking at
the reviews, I found similar problems, but they almost didn't happen. Is pushblock huge and
this? People, this is so 2006, lol. Anyway, I recommend this project to everyone. I finished
it in 4 hours and found 2 secrets." - PedroCroft_ (01-Mar-2025) |

"Notes
- I technically did not complete this adventure. I stopped due to the bottom two issues noted below.
Bugs/Functional Issues
- There are some unmarked death squares waiting for you if you venture too far from the intended areas.
- A pushable block puzzle in the Water Source level can become unsolvable if you make the wrong move (both in-game text and a text file warn you of this possibility, just make a save at that point)
- In the Tower level, a softlock can happen if an enemy steps on a raising block and makes it prematurely raise, preventing Lara from pushing a block onto it.
- Lara cannot grab the final key needed to end the adventure, because the surrounding barriers prevent her from being able to stand the correct distance from the plinth.
- Some of the secrets cannot be returned to. One example is in the Water Source level which involves moving a pushable block before flooding a room, an act which cannot be reversed later. This issue is more serious considering that getting all secrets is the only way to actually complete the adventure, due to the previous issue.
Liked
- There are a few puzzles involving pushable blocks which I enjoyed.
- There are also a few traps to dodge, including boulders, flames, and poisonous gas.
- The secrets are more of a world building mechanic than anything else, each one telling part of a story.
- The visuals have a strong sense of architecture and good use of textures, although the lighting is a bit too flat in the outdoor areas.

"Here we have a colorful, entertaining romp through five interconnected levels in search of a
dozen artifacts (parchments, scrolls, secrets -- a rose by any other name...) so you can
make your escape to the waiting helicopter. I liked the "hub" concept of providing three
closed gates which can be opened and explored in any desired order. Gameplay is rather
straightforward and requires little manual dexterity, but I'd say it's a step up from being
called "easy." A few of the puzzles are well thought out, especially the ones involving the
pushblocks and the globes. Plenty of flares are provided from the beginning, and there are
many occasions to use them, mainly when proceeding along long tunnels from one task to the
next. Enemies are rather few in number, and the natives always seemed to have a small
medipack in their pockets. I found placement of the revolver at the end to be rather
curious, as by that time there's no real need for it. A very pleasant raid." - Phil (17-Sep-2024) |

"Pretty straightforward linear level. Enemies were easily despatched from places of safety.
Quite good use of cameras. I found the landscaping & architecture on the simpler side. All
12 scrolls (secrets) were easily found. A few alternative routes and soft-locks were not
prevented. Highlights were a very nice sand-filling sequence and a clever but laborious
tower block puzzle." - Adrian (15-Sep-2024) |

"Pretty, immersive and enjoyable. In some of the exterior areas the architecture is on the
simplistic side but it is still pretty, atmospheric and effective. The water source room is
the more complex in all accounts, and the most beautiful too. Some nice puzzles too. Now,
about the mentioned softlocks, I only noticed a possible one in the Tower area: the zip
lines don't reset so you cannot go back for missed scrolls, which ARE NOT secrets but main
gameplay, as you'll discover at the end. On the easy side, so no special skills required.
Recommended." - billie2001 (15-Sep-2024) |

"Another builder makes a welcome return, 11
years after his first effort. And what an
improvement indeed. The gameplay this time
round is more coherent and clearly laid out,
there's more helpful camera guidance and the
environment is consequently less confusing
to explore. There's a bit of backtracking to
perform, but nothing too arduous and
everything nicely circles back to the main
citadel as you collect the golden idols.
Gameplay is decently varied, with a couple
of complex block puzzles being notable
highlights. In the Water Source level, it
did seem possible to become terminally stuck
if you pushed a block off a certain ledge,
so do be careful around that point. Flybys
are really quite majestic though. An
engaging jaunt." - Ryan (11-Sep-2024) |

"Duh... Another review which turns into a betatest report so bear with me: two possible softlocks in the water level, one with the pushblock which shouldn't fall, another with the level entrance door closing if you go back and forward through them too fast. Both issues are at the start of the map so you can play it all then realize you were doomed from the start and have to repeat. Less but still important, it's not explained the secrets are required to finish the game, so people will lose time to go back or quit at that point. Luckily it's at the end of the plot, so till then we can approve the quite unique atmosphere, which is like a child of Gmac, Justin and QRS with best traits inherited. Finally, what I've been waiting for ages, the fog wasn't overdone and lighting was just fine (!!). Texturing work is correct on quads, but with triangles there are issues (all fixable in TE), mostly in the tower level which also has vultures with beetle sounds - at this point of the game I got that awful realization a ton of good work may be mauled by simple issues, while the entire project is good enough to get a 9+. Please, fix and reupload. And, to the players: please wait a moment before you play." - DJ Full (01-Sep-2024) |
