Reviewer's comments |
"For me they are the best levels from this author. It notices a big effort with the architecture and texturization, but I suffered a lot of backtracking. I think there are excessive pickups, even when the final bosses are very hard to kill and you need powerful weapons and a lot of ammo; with the first boss I had to reload several times because he got stuck and he doesn't shoot Lara. The secrets are nice to find and there's a good use of musics and cameras, the permanent light when using the flares button was a good idea too. Even when the puzzles were not difficult to solve, I think the continuous backtracking is not very good for many players and even when there's not need to include several endings so the players can lose the tower area, perhaps it's a good idea because the tasks in that tower were really hard for me. I wish in future levels this author thinks a bit more about a fluid gameplay and less challenging so his work can be accessible for many players (only two reviews after five months?)." - Jose (05-Feb-2025) |

"This is a solid effort in the style of the
Complex Simplicity package, and with a bit
more effort (and possibly testing), it could
have been even more enjoyable. Firstly, the
atmosphere and construction is a noticeable
step forward for Pedro. The textures are put
to good use, and there's some nicely
executed flybys and music cues too. The most
visually impressive area was undoubtedly the
vertigo-inducing floating islands segment.
The secrets are also well worth going for,
giving you a generous amount of weaponry and
supplies. Where this game falters is in the
gameplay. Although there are a few neat (if
somewhat obscure) puzzles and some engaging
traps, there's rather too much backtracking
from point A to point B and the camera hints
are a little vague sometimes. The final boss
fight was also annoyingly buggy, and it took
me numerous reloads before I finally managed
to bring him down. The flying ghost enemy
was also irritating and essential reduced
the battle to an exercise in gulping up
medipacks. Not sure about the multiple
endings either, as you do miss about half of
the adventure if you don't explore
everything. Don't get me wrong, this is a
fun raid. Sadly the kinks just bring it down
somewhat." - Ryan (01-Feb-2025) |

"This good castle level went far way from its initial state, it's like 10x better now. Yes it has too much running between A and B, but I wasn't really bored here. The favourite moment is when you finally emerge on the foreshadowed rampart, it's satisfying after so much effort taken. The most confusing is the library wherea hints are too close to doors so you don't know which one opens. The last secret is too hard and the canon (?) ending is gated by it, so 99.999% players won't see it - maybe we got too much into bad endings being default. You also can have neutral ending (4 endings total) and I'd check them all so take the walkie and eggsplore. And hey watch out during the bossfight, it can softlock sometimes (not sure what causes it). Recommended, with a bit of patience included." - DJ Full (09-Sep-2024) |
