| Reviewer's comments |
"Challenging for all the wrong reasons: flat or pitch-black lighting, stretched and missing
textures, and unpredictable geometry with illegal slopes that force reloading constantly
combined with tasks meant more for bending the rules of physical traversal than for any kind
of satisfaction or sense of discovery. Eclectic objects and basic original WAD sources don't
help the sense of atmosphere either. Clearly, the author is capable of building something
more attractive and enjoyable (there are textured signs and occasional gameplay elements
that hint at the author's knowledge of the editor), but that forces the conclusion that the
author simply has chosen not to make something others will have fun playing. I encourage
players not to waste their time, but more than that, I encourage the author to use their
editing skills and time for a purpose other than making levels that offer so little beyond
frustration." - Cbl (30-Jan-2026) |

"Yes, well. I find myself in total agreement
with DJ's remarks. There may or may not be
an easier version floating about somewhere,
but I got stuck at the same impossible jump
so I quit there and then and watched the
remainder of the level on a video
walkthrough. Textures and
lighting...rudimentary, atmosphere...very
bland, gameplay...designed solely to annoy
the player. Steer well clear!" - Ryan (11-Apr-2025) |

"I could swear the trcustoms version was easier, the author must have patched things. For the curved jump which took me several tries before, now I needed 40 minutes and I'm still trying. Don't get me wrong - this level pales in comparison to the sequel which poured bad gameplay to the brim of the salt barrel. But it's still aimed to make you suffer in mean way and it succeeds a lot. Don't play unless you like Neltharion's works and be wary they are fairer than the gauntlet you get here, which rather fulfills the legacy of Cain (no, not that other Crystal Dynamics game, I mean the infamous levelbuilder)." - DJ Full (01-Oct-2024) |
