"I’d like to mention this right away - somehow this game made me feel very anxious along
the way, as I was never sure whether I’m doing things the right way. I almost finished the
game in one sitting but then I got stuck on the lever sequence to open the trapdoor and
release the mechanism that drains the water. I tried all possible combinations and figured
I needed to find a lever for an empty slot or something - like you do for a vertical floor
lever. Why? Why would you make an empty slot and make me run around thinking it means
something. It is also a rare puzzle not mentioned in the Diary. Then the trapdoor just
randomly opened and was able to finish the level - needless to say I thought it was
cringe. These days I never use walkthroughs and in the rarest cases I just abandon levels
to come back (sometimes). I played this game first a year ago, I gave it a try mid summer
and third time - now. Luckily, this time the puzzle worked. Also, I’ve encountered a few
broken save states, where Lara would spawn below the ground, fall and die.
Other than that, this game, especially the first part, was great. Graphics, music and
attention to detail was top-tier. I’m glad I finally finished the whole thing. I guess my
brain is not compatible with builder’s logic. Also, I have found all secrets, which
happens mostly when I don’t know what to do and start exploring with the desperation of a
lost soul. I chose the difficulty as challenging only for this fact - I don't get
PhryneCroft game design. In terms of visual esthetic - we're totally on the same page." - MaxDeaconVR (27-Dec-2025) |

"Another sweet addition to the Advent
Calendar, and this one truly stands out for
its convincing environments. The gameplay is
entertaining enough with nothing difficult
to accomplish (aside from a couple of trial
and error lever puzzles which were a bit
obscure), even the timed sequences are quite
generous. I did enjoy the little tile puzzle
sequence, though. Where this game really
excels, as mentioned, is the setting. The
surroundings are absolutely stunning
throughout, with the highlights being the
tower area in the first level and the
breathtakingly huge caves in the second
level. Music works really well in
conjunction with the quite cinematic flybys,
and the entire adventure is an awesome
visual experience. I actually didn't find
the lighting to be unreasonably dark, and
the textures were pleasing to the eye. Give
this one a go for a relatively easygoing
raid, and be impressed by the sights along
the way." - Ryan (16-Feb-2025) |

"It has been several days since I played this two-part release, so the details are already
starting to fade from memory, but what I remember most are the rather gloomy and drab
surroundings and the task-driven gameplay. I don't recall any negative vibes while I was
playing, but neither did I experience those delectable goosebumps that let me know that I'm
having a wonderful time. The activities in and around the tower in the first level were what
stood out most for me. The second level was a bit longer and had more underground activity,
although sadly a minecart ride was not in the cards. There were three secrets to be found in
each level, but finding them provided no reward other than the satisfaction of acquiring
them. Competently done, but nothing really memorable." - Phil (14-Feb-2025) |

"I really liked this peaceful, beautiful Christmas gift from Phryne. A home level at first
and then outside in a Nordik environment. It has everything one would expect from a
Christmas level. It's peaceful, cozy and easy enough to be accessible to everyone. The
background music added to the atmosphere. I'll certainly revisit it during some future
Christmas. Recommended." - billie2001 (06-Feb-2025) |

"While in the first level, gameplay not totally to my likings (the crawlspace in the dark cellar was hard to see, overall the areas were too gloomy without much changes), the second level provided some decent platforming and torch sequences in even more atmospheric surroundings. Timed runs are plentiful, but only one was not overly generous in its timing (one including the torch) and overall the game could be more varied in terms of puzzle ideas, and even those present were sometimes impossible to solve without guessing. The visuals are very well done and the use of sounds and cameras is professional. A good hour-long level that could've done somewhat better with a few more bright areas and varied gameplay, but still remains recommendable. Found all 6 secrets." - manarch2 (15-Jan-2025) |

"Neutral
- I like that there are a few puzzles in this adventure, but they seem to boil down to trial and error. This includes a set of switches in the library, and a set of switches in an underground cavern for a trapdoor where the order matters, but there doesn't seem to be any indication of that.
Liked
- These two levels feature quite a few fun platforming moments, including a plethora of timed runs, sometimes combined with a torch.
- There are a few traps to avoid, mostly boulders, for a spritz of classic raiding thrown into this holiday adventure.
- This adventure is very strong in its visuals, with a strong combination of texturing, lighting, and decorative objects to improve immersion.
Time: 2 hours 4 minutes | Difficulty: Medium | Rating: 8.5/10 - Very Good" - JesseG (24-Dec-2024) |

"A little Christmas level. While it looks really nice, I found the gameplay a bit weak. It's too linear and doesn't make good use of the locations in my opinion. It's still enjoyable and worth playing. I especially liked the good winter mood outside.
- Looks great, especially outside.
- At first I thought it was a mansion or home level, but you soon leave the house and get to see many different locations.
- It felt too linear. It's like you spend only a little time in each location. I actually expected to return to Lara's mansion.
- Some elements of gameplay felt a little forced, like doors opening just because you pick up items, or the walking cut scenes. The lever puzzle in the library apparently had to be brute forced (but maybe I missed a hint).
- Some minor but obvious mistakes. I could get to the edge of the level (looking at a texture-less world beyond an invisible wall) near the tower. There was a chain, which you released with a lever, which went through a wooden floor.

"Fun little adventure before Christmas, loved the 'Northern Lights' look of the level build.
The mine part was a bit out of context but didn't mind going through it that much. What I
liked about this level was the atmosphere of mystery and adventure that it brings and the
setting was just what I needed for this time of year. If you're into this kind of gameplay
that has adventure and puzzles then this level is right for you. Highly recommend!" - young Lara Croft (20-Dec-2024) |

"A pleasurable and sweet xmas level. The gameplay is entertaining with some basic puzzles
here and there and a story which unfolds along our progression. I feel like some areas
doesn't use their full potential and we just pass by them, for example the small village in
the second level - I wish it had some more gameplay. The visuals are very pleasant to the
eye - everything including textures, lighting and architecture is well done. I don't have
much more to say. It's a good xmas level. Recommended." - BlackWolfTR (17-Dec-2024) |

"I had a really good time playing this release! A really well crafted and cosy Christmas
level. The challenge does ramp up a touch as you progress but nothing too challenging. Both
the levels look amazing! I preferred the more Christmassy vibe of the first level but, like
I say both looked great! Would definitely recommend this release to players of all skill
levels." - Feats (17-Dec-2024) |

"Good game to chill. My only bad time was when the second level went like "see those xmas props? anyway let's explore a mine". It's not really long but I got tired by lack of change, while earlier and later parts change just enough to give rooms separate character. Also not all cobwebs should span across rooms in a map already tough to see through. Keep focus :)" - DJ Full (15-Dec-2024) |

"I confess this is the kind of adventure I would do if I had to participate in the advent calendar again. An adventure in this style or something like "the LB Advent Calendar 2004 - December 17th" by Horus.
This game is a very nice adventure I really enjoyed exploring.
Not too hard and not too long (although I did spend 2 hours exploring it).
I think I preferred the first level (although the second was very good too) with that beautiful house and the surrounding area to explore.
Both levels were very well textured and the lighting was really perfect.
The addition of the diary was a really good idea, even if it's easy to guess what you need to do. But like Phryne, it's something I'm trying to put into my levels now to tell a story and help beginners.
The 6 secrets were easy to find and sometimes added extra gameplay to be discovered.
I congratulate the author on this new adventure and thank you for sharing it with us." - Bigfoot (15-Dec-2024) |
