Reviewer's comments
"It is a short level including mainly switches and keys to find, enemies to shoot, and few traps that are used quite nicely. Some criticism: 1) A maze in the beginning of the level felt a bit tedious: 2) You will get soft-locked if you try to acquire one of the secrets; 3) There is a switch which triggers a flooding sound and removes a window in a nearby street without a camera hint, which is quite illogical and difficult to figure out; 4) Lighting is flat and architecture rather boxy which detracts from the immersion. I believe that with more polish, the full version will be an enjoyable adventure." - Samu (19-Apr-2025)
"It's labeled as a Demo but it seems to be an unfinished one as the way I reached the end trigger was quite unfulfilling. There was a weird flipmap to flood an area you never get to explore, which in turn makes a window and a garden gazebo disappear elsewhere, a missing wall switch as well. The secret in the fireplace couldn't be acquired in the intended way, but I'll try a different approach in my second run for walkthroughing purposes. There was a notable lack of background audio, while the action pieces aren't set to one shot so those keep breaking up the silence, and lighting was pretty flat overall. The indoor areas also seemed to be too big and empty. 20 minutes. 12/24" - Treeble (29-Dec-2024)
"Despite my usual partiality towards Venice levels, this level didn't really work out so well for me. As a demo release, this does unfortunately betray some of the flaws of a work in progress. The textures are a bit nondescript, the gameplay consists mainly of rather tedious running around (in conjunction with a maze right at the beginning), with the occasional long block push puzzle for good measure, one of the secrets gets you terminally stuck, there's a terribly unfair "running through fire" sequence", lighting is a bit too bright and there's a bizarre flipmap at the end which doesn't really work out the way it should. All of these do put a substantial downer on the experience, so I would encourage the builder to iron out the kinks before the full release. On the plus side, the enemy attacks were involving if a little too tough, and I did like the little flooding/draining puzzle that lead you to the final key. We'll see in the final version." - Ryan (15-Dec-2024)
"As always a layer of lighting and polish would help, as you can find a missing portal, an unmarked trigger, a flipping room with wrong changes and can even softlock in a secret. Half of gameplay is a maze and pushblocks, but in the end it wasn't as bad as I expected. The mood is good so give more love to this project." - DJ Full (14-Dec-2024)
