| Reviewer's comments |
"While inspired by a combination of Lud's Gate and Sleeping with the Fishes, this was
significantly easier and more pleasant to play through than the original London level. This
feels more like a demo than a full release: there's quite a bit implied to be going on with
Geordie Bob's Freight Co., but the intriguing anomalies (giant purple banners, green
henchmen, an orca!) never get explained or resolved by the time the level abruptly ends.
While gameplay consists of switch-pulling, I seldom felt lost and enjoyed the vertical
platforming (especially at the start) and around the Egyptian room, although I never did
raise the monkeyswing despite escaping just fine. Lara has a generous arsenal to deal with a
variety of green cultists, which were an especially nice fusion between TR2 and TR3 enemies.
While feeling unfinished, this was a pleasant raid and if you want the feel of Lud's Gate
without the headache of the real thing, I recommend this as an easy playthrough." - Cbl (10-Mar-2026) |

"It is a pretty nice and short level featuring a visual style like TR3 Lud’s Gate level.
Gameplay consists mostly of some simple platforming in the beginning, swimming around a
large underwater area, fighting against various human enemies, and finding switches that
open doors. There are no real puzzles, inventive platforming sections, nor traps which could
have made the gameplay more engaging. I found it also slightly illogical that you can break
the metal crate walls with MP5 but not with pistols. Nevertheless, it is still a nice and
atmospheric level if you are looking for something short that can be finished in one
sitting." - Samu (26-Feb-2026) |

"Sanctum has a heavy TR3 luds gate vibe with an underwater base/ industrial area to explore with the “Geordie Bob's
Freight co” sign being a nice touch. You might be a bit confused when finding a large water area with cage rooms after
some simple but fun platforming and climbing at the very beginning but that’s what exploration is for I guess! Just
remember that grates can be shot open and keep an eye out for a hidden underwater lever in one of the cage rooms.
The activities in this level were limited to finding levers and switches, swimming and a bit of climbing and push blocking.
There is some frogmen and guards to kill as well but with no puzzles, timed runs or barely any traps I was a bit
disappointed and underwhelmed with tasks really but I did find the setting to be both an intriguing and well structured
place to explore." - John (23-Aug-2025) |

"a very interesting level. i've been following the author's previews on youtube for a while,
i really liked the idea of an underwater base mixed with elements of luds gate and masonry.
very original and i liked the use of the TR2 enemies they always work better for a shooter
game, i missed ammo because i never had enough to deal with the frogmans, but other than
that it was a pleasant experience, a shame the author gave up because it had a lot of
potential for a great levelset. it's a shame that the game ends in a specific corner because
the outside that isn't shown to us (you can see it through the TRVIEW) I was very impressed.
with some editing in the trview you can edit the triggers and make the top door open and see
what the area looks like inside the game maybe. recommended to all, 30 minutes...."" - PedroCroft_ (16-Aug-2025) |

"This is going for a Lud's Gate type setting, with an underground water room and some tunnels above it, including an Egyptian exhibit type area. The actual Sanctum is implied with certain details like banners but it seemingly ends when you actually access it. While a TRLE map there's a lot of changes to make it feel like TR3, along with some other modifications, like the human enemies curiously having greenish skin. The Divers did seem a little loud though, to the point you could hear them from a couple of rooms away. While the design and texturing are executed well, it's a bit non-descript in theme as it combines various London textures in a way that feels like a random maze rather than an actual place, although I guess that fits with the surreality of the original Lud's Gate.
The map starts with Lara waking up underground (I guess she was captured?), and you begin with a quite enjoyable climb out of a deep cave, then you reach the water room which is mostly quite straightforward after the first switch or two. The gameplay of the middle section falls off a bit as it's mostly maze-like tunnels with the occasional enemy (you get plenty of ammo at least). It gets more interesting again in the Egyptian area which provides more climbing with a bit more challenge than the starting area, then, as it seems it's about to get started it just ends. Outside of Lara's wake-up at the start implying her not being here by choice, there isn't much supporting a story; curiously it's labeled as "TNT 3" in game, but there doesn't appear to be much link between that series. This is fine but ends before it really gets going, despite a few areas with some nice atmosphere between the less interesting tunnel sections, maybe we'll get a sequel to at least follow-up the sudden end though?" - Mman (10-Aug-2025) |

"Here's a pleasant little experience in the
TR3 style that turned out to be more linear
than I expected. Granted, I wasn't actually
sure what to expect. The initial underwater
areas may seem overwhelming, but after a bit
of searching (and locating a hidden-in-plain
sight underwater lever), everything
gradually falls into place. The atmosphere
is well caught and there's an air of
familiarity about one room in particular.
The numerous enemy confrontations help spice
proceedings up and although there's nothing
complicated to overcome, it's entertaining
enough. It's the abrupt ending and the brief
length that somewhat lets things down
though. Lara surfaces in an imposing room,
begins to run up a tall ramp and...it just
ends. No final scene, no boss fight,
nothing. Which was rather deflating. It's
also hard to fit too much varied gameplay
into under 45 minutes of playing time so I
was left feeling slightly unfulfilled. Not a
bad raid, though." - Ryan (08-Aug-2025) |
