| Reviewer's comments |
"A classic adventure in Tomb Raider 1 Greece? A meme level with somewhat off-color jokes
and sound effects? A well-constructed showcase of the power of TR1X to introduce new moves
and object capabilities while retaining a nostalgic feel? This level is all of these. Upon
loading the title screen, you might think you're in for some kind of joke, but while there
are some off-color sound effects and glib captions to some objects, this is an engaging
and beautifully interlocking level. Highlights include room-by-room gameplay with some
creative (and occasionally quite tricky) platforming in order to advance to the next
chamber, a push block puzzle that requires some examination to complete, an underwater
pillar and current puzzle, satisfying secrets with big gun rewards, just the right balance
of enemies versus solo exploration, and most impressively the customized textures,
objects, and both funny and archaeologically informative object captions. The level relies
a little too much on key- and switch-hunting, although in one object caption Lara (or
Laura, according to this storyline) comments on the impracticality of so many keys. One
more combat encounter instead of backtracking at the end might have rounded things out.
New moves like Lara twisting to grab ledges while sliding down slopes came in handy.
Definitely recommend checking this out, 2/3 guns found." - Cbl (01-Feb-2026) |

"1. Gameplay & Puzzles: one of the most intense levels I've ever played, but also provides
a lot of satisfying moments. The only thing I disliked are the spike pits that you should
be passing through so that you lose some health by default, although the medipaks provided
can still remedied it.
2. Enemies, Objects, Secrets: the enemies are well-placed, the custom objects and
descriptions are well-made, and the secrets (which are in the form of the only acquirable
weapons in TR1, i.e. Shotgun, Uzis, Magnums) are very satisfying and helped you a lot with
the anticipated 2 Centaurs.
3. Atmosphere, Sound, Cameras: the layout resembles a mix of the original TR1 levels but
most notably "St. Francis' Folly" (the starting area), "Palace Midas" (the bulk of the
level), and "Tomb of Tihocan" (the 2 Centaurs and the Scion rooms). The soundtracks are
haunting yet beautiful and used nicely at proper times. The cameras sometimes not enough
to show you what works, but not fatal.
4. Lighting & Textures: they're used beautifully, not much else to say.
In addition, the bonus level (i.e. Jiafei's Countryside Manor) provides a relaxing
experience after the main adventure, although it still provides some challenges in finding
the Keycard and the Mask.
Conclusions: recommended for a challenging-but-rewarding raid." - Charles Kane (01-Feb-2026) |

"I am not entirely sure why this level would need to be classified in the Joke category - I
certainly missed out on whatever was meant to be funny about it. But I really enjoyed
playing it. Very classic, nothing particularly unusual, as it is basically a key hunt in a
Greek setting. But it is engaging, with quite a bit of platforming (sometimes a little too
repetitive maybe) and a few enemies and spike traps thrown in, as well as three nice secrets
for good measure and a kind of little boss battle as well. I did not really care much for
the small home level addition, but the 45 mins in the Greek setting were very decent fun and
certainly worth a look." - MichaelP (22-Jan-2026) |

"This Tomb Raider 1 release is mostly a classic Greece design, although it also has some BTB Greece aspects like the soundtrack and certain objects. It also has some bonus content with a house theme. Like many of the author's previous maps it's on a relatively small scale and does a lot with relatively little, although there are a couple of places where it gets a bit larger in scale. There are plenty of custom objects too that support the comedic base for the set, although it's status as a "meme level" is mostly kept for the menu objects.
The gameplay has plenty going on despite the small area, and it's engaging throughout, along with a layout that interlinks a lot and brings you back to earlier rooms in unexpected ways. While not quite as well executed as "Special Ops" it follows that style and provides a tight experience that still feels like a full adventure. There's also a bonus level for finding the three secrets (which isn't too difficult), and, while quite short and simple, it provides a bit more to the set, while also calling back to a previous release. Another great release from this author, who seems to have found a consistent strength now." - Mman (21-Oct-2025) |

"This builder is developing nicely, which is
always good to see. With his previous effort
leaving me with a positive impression, I
hoped this one would too, and thankfully it
did. I could have lived without the crude
names of a couple of the artefacts and the
weird sounds when you find one of the
weapons (although I do appreciate the author
was going for a sort of theme here), but
luckily the level itself is more mature and
wholesome. The Greek setting is well
realised, while the gameplay certainly has
its challenging sections. A few of the spike
traps were a tad on the unfair side (mainly
entailing Lara having to take damage when
having to jump), but otherwise there's
nothing too frustrating and everything
should be readily achievable. Nice one." - Ryan (01-Oct-2025) |

"It should be good for the most, for it's classic with a twist. All fine except from the bit from moving pillar to picking up the chamber key, that might stump you for a longer or shorter moment. Visually very good but I would intensify the lighting, as even with high contrast it's a bit too little." - DJ Full (10-Sep-2025) |

"This level is described as a meme level and despite there are a lot of "memes" featured in
this short adventure, the level itself is very enjoyable, tasks are varied and keeps you
hooked, so you won't get bored here. It's definitely an improved over previous meme levels
from this author. I recommend this adventure for every player!" - Mahetus (08-Sep-2025) |
