Reviewer's comments
"As far as relying on pure Tomb Raiding intuition goes, this was an interesting test of navigation with zero help from lighting or depth of field, dependent instead entirely on perception of flat textures and the logic of how Lara moves through a space. While not the kind of game I'd normally seek out, since I knew from the beginning that the point was confusion and trial-and-error, I found it to be thought provoking enough to make my way through all three levels. No one has mentioned there's also a home level, which has some more readable textures and but perhaps more discombobulating geometry since you can actually see what's built. I wish the objects had adopted the same "flat" design of the lighting and textures, since they tended to clash rather than enhance the unusual atmosphere. I think the design principles could be turned into something quite entertaining, but for now this feels more like an experiment with a comeback than it does a finished or fully realized concept. Finished all three levels and the home level in about 10 minutes. 2 secrets found!" - Cbl (10-Jan-2026)
"If not for Treeble's little walkthrough, I would have binned this level after 60 seconds, as the whole "concept" of it is rather to annoy the player, by not showing anything. The few textures applied basically hide the very simple path, so even though there is no lighting to speak of and it is all very bright, it feels like groping around in the dark all the time. Thankfully, it is all a very brief affair of less than 10 minutes and in my book it is not a concept that needs to be explored any further." - MichaelP (05-Dec-2025)
"A bit hard to rate this properly as we all can take it at face value for what it is, but it's unfair on both sides when you try to compare it to 'standard' releases. As someone who'd given the highly-questionable Among Walls game a try before it got rightfully shot down, I still think the use of solid colors instead of textures approach could work well for a custom level, as would be the case here were not the fact the author is outright trying to confuse you (as per level title) with oddly shaped small rooms where you just can't detect your bearings. It's very, very, short though, so even if you go full on tactile and try to climb up every wall it will take you about ten minutes to reach the end. 10 minutes, 1 secret. 10/25" - Treeble (05-Oct-2025)
"Not totally what I was waiting for. A bit more to do and some textures to gaze at, yet still a rather missable experience. The drops were actually the best parts..." - manarch2 (01-Oct-2025)
"Well, how bizarre. If this is indeed a taster to an upcoming, more comprehensive adventure (judging by the ending), then that may well be worth waiting for. Otherwise there's nothing much at all to do here, short of jumping and climbing around a bit, finding two secret dragon statuettes (probably the only high point) and doing some spectacular deep falls into shallow pools. That's pretty much it, really." - Ryan (22-Sep-2025)
"Static epilepsy, thankfully brief - but hey, finally a level with better gameplay than looks, how often do we get it? It takes some outbox thinking but is totally solvable, and I mind the declaration of the upcoming real work. While we wait for it, we can try this one." - DJ Full (10-Sep-2025)
