| Reviewer's comments |
"If you are looking for a level with classic TR1 aesthetics, this two-level TRLE is a great
choice. Gameplay revolves mostly around exploring non-linear areas and platforming combined
with trap avoidance and some timed runs. Difficulty does ramp up quite a bit towards the end
as you will be completing relatively lengthy jumping sections involving collapsible tiles
and boulders. However, I think that everything is doable within a reasonable number of tries
for most players. In terms of visuals, the level may not contain any jaw-dropping areas, but
everything is well-crafted and the level perfectly captures the classic TR1 Greek vibes.
Overall, it is a very good two-level adventure." - Samu (03-Jan-2026) |

"A twin-level TR1 set that certainly has its fair share of challenging parts. Each level
could hold up quite nicely as individual ones, but together they nonetheless provide a
wholly engaging gaming experience. Actually, the exploration side of things isn't too hard
if you know where to go and how to get there. The challenge comes from the jumping exercises
and the trap sequences, but they're nicely challenging rather than bordering on frustration.
In my opinion, the builder got the difficulty progression just right. The tasks aren't
exactly a piece of cake, but you do get a noticeable sense of accomplishment after
conquering them which is always a good thing. I even managed to successfully complete the
ending sequence in only about five tries. Go figure. The surroundings are also clean and
more pleasing to the eye than usual for this engine, and overall this is a well-done raid." - Ryan (28-Dec-2025) |

"Now that I've resigned myself to playing these newer TR1 levels on the Windows 10 platform,
I'm finding the experience to be more enjoyable than I'd anticipated. The graphics aren't
nearly as crude as I recall from the original commercial release, and even though flares
aren't allowed here I had no difficulty seeing my way along from start to finish. There are
two levels in this download, either of which would have done just fine as a stand-alone. The
gameplay is crisp but manageable for the most part, but I felt that those trap-filled
sequences near the end were a bit over the top. I managed to get through after multiple
attempts, but that experience put a damper on what up until then had been a thoroughly
enjoyable romp. This two-parter makes me want to go back and sample those highly-rated TR1
releases that I've bypassed over the past few years. Well done." - Phil (26-Dec-2025) |

"Enjoyed playing this one. There's a lot going on and a lot of exploring to try and crack the routes you need to solve the game. In places it was perhaps too hard, with one route especially, not obvious at all and easily missable. I was puzzled a few times and had to head for a video walkthrough to see what to do.
In terms of difficulty, it was mostly okay, but there's an end sequence which I just found impossible and had to give up on. Sorry, but slides and jumps to multiple collapsing tiles which need precise landings on each, and different jump techniques every time was just too much.
I wasn't sure what the point of the chap who turns up and shoots at Lara a couple of times was ... nor the arena which ends up with a zombie T Rex in(!) but it was all fun stuff." - David (22-Dec-2025) |

"A worthy, atmospheric tribute for advanced players. Expands the Midas concept a lot without losing the nod to the original organic design. The bronze key in the first level took me ages - maybe turning off 3D pickups would help, but visibility is one problem and other factors draw the focus away from that item. The first climb in the second level is another difficulty spike, totally out of focus. To watch out in gameplay: don't block the boulder with the pushblock, and don't repeat the arena as the water puzzle doesn't let you out again. In both cases, you'll be stuck forever. Visually, I'd add the low end of lighting gradient to match the high end spotlights which are totally perfect, but for now I found out the graphic options of fog start 4, end 100, RGB 20 100 105 and fog transparency off make up for it - and then water color RGB 90 85 175 nicely supplements them [I used complementary colors like done in classic foggy levels, but you can find your sweet spot or as close to it as the engine allows - for it would work better if it allowed higher max values]. A footnote would be I don't understand the secret uzi, and I also had 800 magnum left - but on the other hand, those make the ending funny so maybe that was the point. Recommended." - DJ Full (18-Dec-2025) |

"The game's objective seems clear at first glance, but in reality, it requires exploration
all around. The game space is large and highly three-dimensional, and the process of
exploration is full of fun, keeping players from getting bored. There isn't much to fault
with the graphics and music, except that the lighting feels somewhat insufficient, and the
keys are all very small, forcing you to keep your eyes peeled to spot them. Enemies are
relatively easy to deal with, and supplies are abundant." - cheng (15-Dec-2025) |
