Reviewer's comments
"The builder is good at setting a tone for the player. And creating quick challenges to enjoy. And the level ends at a nice time. The level feel unfinished. Context sometimes feels empty. Rooms you either never enter or don't need to explore. And with TR1-TR2 geometry? Making me question if this is the wrong engine? And that the builder's geometry was...dare I say...lazy? TRX but no other "new" things were implemented here? Not saying that you would have to. And I softlocked. Some sounds should be fixed for immersion and almost no OSTs here. There's texture customization but it hits a hard wall. There's are triangles but I can't help but to feel what I said before about context. Lighting felt only okay. Some corridors have no lighting and pitch black shadows some areas of a room. But I do enjoy the intense colored room sometimes. This isn't bad for a few hours of Raiding. But I was hoping for a better experience." - StudBuddha (30-May-2026)
"This is an absorbing raid from start to finish, with engaging gameplay and pleasing scenery throughout. There's a nice variety of locations to explore, including some city streets, a nicely crafted zoo area and some rather unsettling dungeons. The transitions between each part are smooth and don't feel jarring and while there are undoubtedly some darker sections, they aren't annoying or overbearing. The boulder puzzles were satisfying to solve, as were the timed sequences and the exploration/puzzle ratio was pitched at the ideal level for me. Enemy attacks (and the final boss, now that I think of it) are actually easier than on first glance as plentiful weaponry and medipacks are provided, and overall this is a raid I wholeheartedly recommend. I should mention that I did encounter the same issue with the control setup as Phil did, so I did have to modify the settings to fit my personal preferred playing method." - Ryan (28-May-2026)
"This level is classified as and plays like a TR3 level, but the executable is something called TRX.exe which is new to me. The keys assignments are different in a couple of cases from the ones we're used to. To crouch (which occurs only once in the level) you use the "c" key, and the Look feature responds to the "f" key. There's no warning of this, the builder hasn't provided a readme for the players, and I must therefore fault him for this oversight. There's also no setup batch file, which forced me to play in full screen mode, making it somewhat difficult for me to write a walk as I was playing. Those quibbles aside, this is an entertaining and rather challenging raid. You can adjust the gamma as desired, and I found that a setting of 6.5 gave me more than enough light to see what I was doing. The builder has also provided without explanation four different ways of playing the level. Two of those are designated as "Japanese," which I assume with no real justification that this signifies more challenging gameplay. I played using the regular + mode, which gave me all weapons and unlimited ammo from the very beginning. Even with that significant advantage, you're still obliged to ration your medipacks wisely. Some of the tasks are difficult enough that I opted for the "challenging" designation, but I never had to repeat my attempts more than a reasonable number of times. In sum, this is a very enjoyable level that has my wholehearted endorsement." - Phil (26-May-2026)
"Here we have a level themed after the zoo from The Lost Artifact...or at least, that's how it starts. Things get spookier as Lara gets further underground, fighting against several mutated humans and other creatures, until she claims a golden skull as her prize. All in a day's work for our heroine. Pros
  • Good variety of creepy crawlers as enemies
  • Many traps to avoid, from pistons to spike walls
  • Several puzzles to solve, including value switches and manipulating boulders to roll to the right squares.
  • Timed runs to test Lara's agility (including a challenge to steal a medpack before a monkey does)
Cons
  • A wasp nest is used, although thankfully it doesn't spawn wasps as many times as in Tomb Raider III.
Time: 1 hour 30 minutes | Difficulty: Medium | Rating: 9.25 - Excellent" - JesseG (18-May-2026)
"It's nice to see a madhouse style level as there are very little of them. And it's especially nice because it's a high-quality one. The gameplay is mainly linear but very enjoyable and not very difficult; suitable for everyone. There is exploration, traps, parkour, combat, some nice puzzles and a bossfight. The visuals are pretty. The lighting is especially well-done. Nothing more to say. Highly recommendable." - BlackWolfTR (16-May-2026)
"This is a single TR3 level in a Zoo/Reunion theme. The setting has you exploring a Zoo and town while stumbling on gradually more surreal and horrific things beneath it, and there's a nice theme escalation as you go between normal and stranger areas. With it escalating to corpse-filled hallways and a colour-changing void. It makes good use of varied textures (including ones outside the base theme) to make the transitions smooth, and the rainy night-time coastal theme of the above ground gives the surface a great atmosphere; it reminds me of "Madhouse Revisited" which had a similar concept and rainy style. Lighting is also great, and integrated with gameplay well to highlight important areas. There are some very dark sections, but you get plenty of flares, and it fits the gloomy theme. The Zoo also has creative object use like inaccessible animal cages and signs to make it more convincing.
The theme contrast is also used in the gameplay, as the surface Zoo mostly involves exploration and platforming, while the underground involves more puzzles and traps. It keeps the pacing varied while also gradually raising the difficulty as the level goes on, but it's not especially tough. There are also a decent amount of enemies, including some of TR3's toughest, but there's a ton of ammo provided, to an almost overkill level if you find the secrets. The ending being a standard Tony fight with a couple of extra enemies, and a quick exit after (even it still makes sense and provides an ending), feels slightly anti-climatic, but it doesn't do anything notably wrong either. An excellent level in a relatively underused theme, although it doesn't really surprise beyond great execution." - Mman (15-May-2026)
"As classic as it gets, as if you both saw it and you didn't, at price of substantial predictability - but also throwing in some new stuff. Could be an alternate ending of Lost Artifact, as it's another custom level which matches the standard and goes beyond. I voided below the trapdoor near the green lanterns, so maybe it's fixable." - DJ Full (08-May-2026)
"Excellent textures and lighting effects, paired with stellar game soundtracks. The piles of skeletons scattered everywhere at the end are genuinely creepy, making the overall atmosphere absolutely immersive. The puzzles are not overly difficult with plenty of hints provided. Both regular enemies and the boss are fairly easy to deal with. Funny game and I really enjoy it." - cheng (07-May-2026)
