"Hopefully this one won't go under the radar like its prequel did as that one is a hidden gem and this one is miles better. To start I'd mention that one pushable furniture inside one of the houses is bugged and cannot be moved but you can just jump above it to reach the switch. I'd suggest fixing that regardless. The gameplay was really entertaining, not too difficult but not too easy either. I specially liked how hidden certain objects are and also the platforming was enjoyable and on point, the pushable puzzle in the underground was really nice too. I'd also fix the torch ignite position as its unclear it has to be done from the ground and can confuse the player. Camera hints were well placed most of the time but my major complaint would be during the first timed run of the 3rd level when the flipmap occurs as its not clear what the timed run does and the player will most likely not figure it out until its too late. Graphically, the level has some errors that could be easily fixed and would greatly improve the level. First, some textures are stretched specially at the very bottom of the walls so they would look better cropped. There's also the issue of the change between two types of textures is too abrupt and some texture transitions would benefit the level (This was noticeable on the change from the grass to the rocky walls) and overall some textures in the 3rd level felt stretched, some rooms were kind of boxy too. The lighting was sadly flat on many areas throughout the 3 levels. I think it also has an audio issue which is the opposite from the first Dragon's Dagger. In the first Dragon's Dagger there was the ambient track which was just looping music and could get bothersome at times, but in this level we have no ambient track at all, I'd highly suggest a middle ground rather than just the polar opposite to the previous level. I'd highly suggest adding an ambient track for the final version, doesn't have to be a music track but just something that helps to build up the atmosphere of the level. Getting to the good side, well, despite the design being a bit rough on the edges this level is beautiful and its impressive how real some areas feel. This is quite perfectly done in the first level and the mansion rooms and the houses, these places seem real and they all would seem to serve a purpose if it was in real life (this is really rare to see in custom levels and even in official classic tr games aside from a few instances). The object usage is perfectly done and the new customized objects and textures really add a lot to the level, it also makes a masterful use of its skybox and this is pretty noticeable in areas like when you are on top of the tree branches and you get to see the skybox behind the mountains, it feels just real and its beautiful. Overall, with some refinement and fixes this could definitely be a contender for the highest ratings in both sites. The prequel was already a hidden gem many missed and this one is miles better than that level so no one should miss this. Recommended and play the prequel while you are at it too." - Neltharion (01-Jun-2026)
