"What I liked about the level: 1) The cathedral museum is beautiful and fun to navigate. 2) The beginning has no enemies, so this is always good in my books. Even though the environment facilitates the inclusion of nasty enemies (skeletons, mummies), Lady Wise resists the temptation to do so. The "idea" an enemy might just be around the corner is enough. 3) The chapel with light streaming is gorgeous. 4) I loved navigating the many mirror rooms. It is a super clever and fun way to give the player clues to otherwise invisible objects and hiding places. 5) It was super fun to see how far I could take the torch with me between levels and happy that this didn’t mess up anything in the levels either. Nice! 6) Exploring Paris was lots of fun and the hotel with it’s elegant textures and lighting is gorgeous looking. 7) Timed runs and underwater areas are well timed, not to long, not too short, just right. 8) I enjoyed all the platforming and sloped jumps. 9) I also enjoyed the fire tile puzzle with clues in the ceiling. 10) Enjoyed the nostalgia trek through the TR classics segments. I liked how you could see the twirling teleporter as the objective. What I didn’t like or thought could be improved: 1) It is not obvious that there are invisible ½ block shootable crawlspaces in the level. Once you know, you know but until that happens, it’s hit and miss. 2) Would prefer that identical looking objects behave the same. If not, then the unintended consequence is that the player will try all similar objects and get unnecessarily frustrated. 3) Not fond of handles or shootable balls that blend almost invisibly into the textures behind. 4) There is a way to the roof of the museum (which I absolutely love doing) but I don't think I'm supposed to be there. I then drop down behind a closed gate and got ultimately stuck, though I did enjoy seeing Le Serpent Rouge from the outside in. 5) Would prefer that pickups stacked on top of each other are picked up by Lara in one shot. I missed an important key (under the lasersight) and had to backtrack for it. Conclusion: Thoroughly loved playing this fun level set. Considering that Lady Wise is an extremely expert player, I thought this level would be extremely tough. But Lady chose to be fair to the player and demonstrated a unique sense of the perfect mix of not to easy, not too tough but just right. Suitable for average TR players." - Lizard Queen (25-Jul-2026)
"I haven't been reviewing for a while, but I'll make an exception here just because I want to say thank you to Lady_Wise for a level set that, while not being perfect in how it globally looks, is an obvious labour of love, which completely shows. It's very entertaining because it flows. I loved the last level, Rectify - great use of the idea. Thank you." - Jorge22 (23-Jul-2026)
"I enjoyed this level a lot, though towards the end it felt a little like a lot of random environments all put one after the other! The main game was fine, lots to explore, and fairly self explanatory as to what to do next. There were a couple of occasions though that I needed the walkthrough as I reached a point and just had no idea where to go next! The bosses at the end were HARD though. I also had no idea what I was supposed to do (well, kill them obviously) but shooting at them seemed to make no difference and Lara got burned up every time. Sometimes with this sort of creature, you actually cannot kill them with weapons, and need to pull some switches or some such to destroy them, but there were no clues! So to the walkthough, and yes indeed you do shoot at them. But pistols seemed to do nothing. At one point I was in a safe spot and their fire was not reaching me, but I could shoot pistols at them, so I popped a weight on my keyboard and just let Lara have at it. But even after 10-15 minutes of constant shooting it seemed to have made no difference. Shotgun worked it seemed - but I was short on those - and grenades too - but not many there. In the end I had to jump around right in front of them, shooting with the pistols to get them all to die! Obviously VERY high shot thresholds. I always tend to think that when there is a very tricky final boss, that there should be enough ammo scattered around there to kill them even if you had nothing else ... but maybe that's just me! Overall, an enjoyable game ... well done to the builder!!!" - David (17-Jul-2026)
"A long and eclectic adventure, Lara literally goes to hell and back as payment for borrowing the Hidden Stone for a while. It's a pretty high octane experience filled with traps, timed runs, and a variety of enemies, with a few cerebral puzzle moments; all things that I enjoy. The levelset does not tire easily as the settings shift between a city, a castle, and various throwback moments from the official games, so there is a lot of entertainment to be had here. Pros
  • Puzzles (although I may have guessed my way through a couple of them)
  • Variety of enemies
  • Lighting
Cons
  • A door in the jungle that closes immediately as Lara passes through it can possibly trap the player, by pushing them back out or getting them stuck in an invisible wall.
  • Some wallpapering in a few of the later areas
  • Snakes have odd sound effects
Time: 3 hours 35 minutes | Difficulty: Hard | Rating: 9/10 - Excellent" - JesseG (09-Jul-2026)
"This is billed as an 8-level release, but the final "level" consists only of a stroll along a hallway. That minor quibble aside, I enjoyed this five-hour game that should be accessible to players of all skill levels. The only real problem I had was the hydra fight near the end, but by saving frequently I managed to get past them. I haven't watched the movie that served as the inspiration of this release, but it's a fun raid all the same. The secrets are separately numbered for each level, and two of the levels boast a half dozen or more. Plenty of armament, ammunition and health/light supplies are provided, so there's never any real danger of running out of anything important. I'd love to see more like this, but I fear that it represents a dying breed." - Phil (21-Jun-2026)
"An engaging experience from start to finish, that kept me occupied for the best part of a week slotted in amongst other things. The mysterious, unsettling atmosphere is well pulled off here, with some well placed audio files and austere texturing/architecture. Some sections of the gameplay can be quite challenging (particularly the gymnastic exercises and possibly the hydra boss battle), but overall the difficulty factor is well pitched and there's nothing at all frustrating to overcome. Each level (apart from the final part which is mainly a sweet credit tribute) is of about 45 minutes each, and I'll admit that was just the ideal length for my current state of mind but that's a different story for a different day. I appreciated how generous the secrets were too, and I never found myself running desperately low on supplies at any point. Very enjoyable stuff." - Ryan (21-Jun-2026)
"The visuals and textures are excellent, and the item designs are well-crafted too — details like the upside-down feet stand out and hanging corpse. The soundtrack is particularly amazing and utterly immersive. The puzzles and secrets are fairly easy, and the combat is not overly challenging either, making the overall gameplay pretty average." - cheng (09-Jun-2026)
"I took my first ever foray into TRLE Beta Testing with this level and even early on I could tell this would be a good, solid release. It has changed greatly over that time, all for the better and the final result is a really great tomb raiding experience for all levels of ability. There are some reasonably tough bits for beginners but its nothing out of the realms of possibility with a bit of perseverance. I enjoyed my time in all of the levels they were all well thought out with a nice flow to the gameplay in my opinion. I especially liked the 2nd level Flamels Clues. The Chapel/Museum setting looked fantastic to me. I loved the soundtrack used throughout as well, it really sets a good atmosphere for each of the levels in the level set. As a Beta Tester I suppose it was fitting that I found the Save Bug in Version 1, but that's fixed now so not to worry about it haha! Well done Wisey, great game!" - Feats (09-Jun-2026)
"I watched it evolve into a full raiding experience, now much better since I first saw it. This is literal caves, catacombs, revealing hidden knowledge to cross into surreal mood and alchemy, tightroping between reality and fiction classic TR is known for, so if you are into classic classic, you will get it here. It's good even if you didn't watch the movie but ofc as in every such case, better do it before playing. I could, and ofc I always was, nitpicky about graphics, but most of people will inhale them no problem. Also thank you for rescuing me from the cafe - rightfully not timed, as it had coffee reserves for a month." - DJ Full (08-Jun-2026)
