"A harmless and well-meaning debut that chronicles one of Young Lara's less memorable excursions to Angkor. The goal is to claim a Golden Skull you see up on a wall early on, out of reach of course. The way to get there is a circuitous route that eventually leads to a lever which triggers an earthquake; it brings about a flipmap that allows you to reach the object of your desire. Inbetween it's essentially lever-to-door progression with some platforming and the occasional trap thrown in; the few enemies are easily evaded (thankfully the crocodiles avoid narrow underwater passages). The rooms are larger than they need to be, but not excessively so. The builder takes a few stabs at making his architecture more interesting than a string of simplistic roomboxes would be, but undercuts these efforts himself by uninspired and often wallpapered texturing (one or two rooms are covered in their entirety with that one circular ornament). Textures are rarely stretched or otherwise distorted, though. Lighting is inconsistent and often implausible but not distractingly so. There's room for improvement in all areas, then; but the level contains no major aggravations." - Mulf (02-Apr-2022) |

"I strongly believe that if the author had dedicated more time and effort for this level, it
would have turned so great (especially in Young Lara class where there are limitations and
getting inspired in this specific theme can be extremely difficult most of the times). I
generally liked the way you were supposed to go back and forth to open a door/pull a lever
to trigger a flipmap (backtracking was OK), and since young Lara cannot have flares, most of
the rooms were lit just fine and this can be considered a big positive for such level.
Nevertheless, textures were either too repetitive, mirrored or stretched to fill a wide
polygon, which made an unrealistic effect, plus the use of spacious rooms filled with
nothing more than a few out-of-place static objects. I also failed to understand the point
of automatic triggers for specific doors, since it is a bit harsh to deceive the player that
way in my opinion :) Thank you!" - Mehrbod (30-Mar-2022) |

"Not a bad attempt at a Young Lara
adventure but unfortunately there's
nothing really exciting here. The gameplay
is very simple and a bit dull in places
(particularly in those long corridors) and
the surroundings are fairly attractive but
also repetitive in places. There's just
some spiked ball traps to avoid, a few
climbs and jumps and levers to pull before
you end the level rather abruptly. Doesn't
really sound that exciting and it wasn't." - Ryan (27-Aug-2018) |

"My initial impulse is to be wary of Young Lara levels, not so much because of the lack of weapons, but the lack of flares. In this case, however, the level is so well lighted that there's no need of flares, a welcome change indeed. The raid is fairly brief at 30 minutes, and you do have a few enemies to avoid (crocs and wild pigs), but everything looks good and the gameplay shows the signs of a competent builder (who followed up this one with a much more highly rated effort and then abruptly quit). I did get a bit weary of backtracking through all those passages near the end, but I finished with a relatively clean taste in my mouth." - Phil (17-Feb-2018) |

"In a Cambodia setting you have to find some levers to
progress in the level. Avoid some crocodiles in the water,
some spike traps, boulders and burning tiles. Cameras show
a disorientating angle of doors opening, because they point
towards Lara's direction, not the door itself. I found 1
secret and finished in 26 minutes." - alan (14-Nov-2017) |

"Young Lara in a reasonably solid but lacklustre Angkor Wat setting with minimal gameplay. Basically, this is less than 30 minutes of running, swimming, throwing levers, avoiding spikes, boulder traps, a couple of crocodiles and a pig, to finally make off with a golden skull. Actually, I think I may just have made it sound a lot more exciting than it is!" - Jay (20-Jun-2015) |

"Short level with young Lara and no interesting features. Only pull switches to open doors, avoid some crocs and wild pigs, big and empty rooms with no objects, monotonous texturization, sometimes certain backtracking, I missed some more cameras when triggering something (example: when the earthquake appeared near the end of the level, what happens? Were is the flipped room?). Sorry but I can't recommend it." - Jose (12-May-2015) |

"Here we have a rather short and plain level which is actually
nicely done, with few enemies such as crocodiles and wild boars
which I found them not to be a big trouble. Gameplay was easy
with levers to push and a bit to explore everywhere. Took me half
an hour. Recommended for those who search for easy Lara levels" - Gonxii (20-Oct-2013) |

"Finally sometimes a Young Lara level without tiresome opponents. Well, there were two crocodiles, but it could easily handle one. And the wild boar was harmless. With the textures the care has been absent a little bit, because they were too often stretched. And now and again a texture was also absent sometimes. But one could see some well built rooms. And I have also liked the Flybys. Basically this level is exactly properly as a beginner's level. Not too short or too long. No heavy duties and a few nice jump exercises. Who has played up to now still no level or searches for relaxed Raiding, is exactly right here." - Scottie (04-Jun-2010) |

"It is our young Lara who launches this time in adventure, adventure without weapon, without enemies really tough and without big acrobatic feat to be made. A simple game which asks for a little of memory. Decoration is mitigated between the sad and the nicely colouring. A right time to be crossed." - Daffy (14-Aug-2009) |

"This is your usual Cambodian level featuring Young Lara. Like Orbit Dream has said, however, the texturization is flawed and rather distracting than pleasuring, while the gameplay is just ordinary. It's a quick level, so it's a good one to play inbetween others, but be aware that the cameras don't work most of the time, so you'll be wandering for a while until you realize what are the newly opened paths. 20 minutes, 1 secret. 01/07" - Treeble (30-Jan-2007) |

"Young Lara back in Angkor Wat again. It's a very short level and it's mostly exploring in a large temple which is quite nice. Your goal is to get one golden skull. Apart from a couple of traps there really isn't much else to do. Being an Angkor wad and a Young Lara level there are limitations both in building and playing this type of level like not being able to use flares and weapons. Although recently I've seen a couple of exceptional young Lara levels like Out of Curiosity but they are exceptional so maybe I'm being too hard here as this is a very old level. Oh I forgot that clever switch at the start that I totally missed until I had to go searching everywhere to see what I could do next." - CC (04-Oct-2004) |

"Twenty minutes in this level and as the author used the Angkor wad there isn't much to do. There is the occasional spike and spike ball trap levers to push and crocodiles wild boars as enemies. It's nicely done with an earthquake effect at the end. As said above though when you use that wad you're restricted so I can't really rate the level higher. I found two secrets." - Kristina (14-Sep-2003) |

"Verner (alias Miya) offers now a simple level. I test it this evening and I'm not disappointed. I passed a good evening! Only some errors in textures one flyby a bit so long some problems with fixed cameras secrets a bit so simple for find but in general it's a good level! Well test it for a little evening! 2 secrets and 30 minutes! 11.05.03.Nesoki" - Neso (12-May-2003) |

"A young Lara level is harder to create concept wise than a standard adventure; I know this because I have lain in my bath (the place where I usually mentally turn over level building concepts) many times and contemplated a young Lara adventure and never succeeded in coming up with anything workable. It's usually the lack of weaponry and lighting implements that stumps me as you can only do so much with jumps swims and mazes. Verner has given it a good shot attempted a decent piece of gameplay and almost pulled it off; but has fallen foul of the 'lazy texturing' factor (which has also afflicted me on occasions) and thereby killed any potential atmosphere; and in a young Lara adventure atmosphere is everything. The cunningly hidden switch at the start didn't elude me (presumably I'm more astute than some) but the repetitive textures illegal slopes and amusing 'death bug' (where Lara gets buried up to her neck by a rolling ball) prevented me from being swept along as much as I might. Never mind it was still a rather pleasurable 35 minutes with a few interesting gameplay flourishes (particularly the returning to the same 'skull area' twice; the first from a different angle the second from a different visual perspective) which kept things interesting." - Orbit Dream (05-Apr-2003) |

"Soon after starting this adventure and finding the switch that rolls back the round door you'll see a flyby showing a golden skull by a doorway. Your objective is to get this skull which will open the exit door. It's not as easy as that though as there are plenty of boulder and spike traps plus this is a young Lara level so there's still the crocs and wild boars to get by. Nothing hard - just a fun 20 minute young Lara level with the typical Angkor textures. Lighting was used very well though as was the camera work." - RaiderGirl (24-Jan-2003) |

"Ok this is a adventure that features Lara in her formative years so I won't bemoan the fact that there is only a lonely crocodile and an overactive warthog to pet but there could have been a bit more to the gameplay than running around and pushing levers. To be fair there was some shimmying swimming and the occasional spiked boulder trap. Speaking of which the last one is dead funny. You run along one of those long hallways and you see a pit further on. You slow down as not to fall into it shall it harbour deadly spikes and just as you approach carefully to see if there is a medipack to be found at the bottom a spiked boulder swishes past. I see it's not funny when I describe the situation but it made me laugh when I experienced it. I have the feeling there were quite a few areas that I haven't been to but as everything looked kind of similar I didn't feel like exploring further. There are a few good moments here the atmosphere is not bad and as it's pretty fast paced. I enjoyed myself for the 25 minutes it lasted but there wasn't really much excitement in Jazimija." - Dimpfelmoser (13-Oct-2002) |

"A 20 minute young Lara level that I must have started ten or more times since its release but never got passed the opening five minutes before I was stuck. This time however I lucked onto the correct path which opened a door and the rest was pretty simple. There is not much to say other than it is a standard young Lara level with angkor textures that won't tax you too much (other than the start lol)." - Torry (21-Sep-2002) |

"A young Lara level. Still have the urge to draw my guns but apart from two crocs and one warthog there aren't any enemies. Main goal is getting the golden skull that'll open the last door. There is some backtracking to do. It took me a while to find the first lever and reaching the last one was another story all together but I have to admit very well done. Found even two secrets both medpacks. There are levers to pull and spikes to avoid. Lighting is good and overall this is a good level and I had great fun as it wasn't that obvious what to do at times. 03-09-2002" - Gerty (16-Sep-2002) |

"This is a young Lara level with crocodiles and one pig. The puzzles are not hard and the textures a little bit long. The lightning is okay and the atmosphere too. I was playing 30 minutes in this level. I had fun but it is not a hard level." - Andi Croft (21-Jun-2002) |
