Reviewer's comments
"The ninjas’ disguise, which mimicked the environment of Horus Treasure House so well that it rendered them as perfectly invisible as stick insects in a jungle, doesn’t help them in this follow-up to the builder’s debut, which veers more towards Tut1 orange; so Lara, who has taken the time to change and is now wearing an outfit from a cheesy 60s spy comedy, can easily spot and avoid taking damage from them. Although Tutankhamun’s tomb appears to have grown considerably in size since Howard Carter discovered it a hundred years ago, there’s still not a lot to do in it apart from some repetitive lever–door action; as Orbit Dream observes, the builder’s few attempts at incorporating puzzles come to nothing. As in the builder’s debut, a brief sequence of rollingball traps is the thing that works best. The builder’s love of redundant flybys is still very much in evidence, and these, together with a pushable chore and a monkeyswing of excessive length, account for about half of the 20-minute duration." - Mulf (24-Jan-2021)
"Not bad this small level, very easy to play with innocent puzzles and a fast gameplay. There are some spiked ball traps and no many levers to pull. The rooms are too bright, and there are some stretched textures in large wall panels, but the appearance is generally good. Enough ammo for the extra guns, I found a couple of pits I couldn't go back up (reload). There are also a couple of flybys, but no more cameras or musics. Enjoyable but not interesting." - Jose (08-Jan-2018)
"This is a very short journey through some basic Egyptian surroundings, doing some swimming and pulling levers to find the Hand of Sirius (which you may have seen in one of the initial rooms). Lara's outfit was nice to look at, as were the retextured golden ninjas, but there's not much else going on and it ends very soon." - Ryan (12-Jun-2017)
"Very short and simple - a brisk jog through Egyptian settings with some easy but quite enjoyable puzzles and boulder traps, plus the odd ninja to shoot. Nice custom outfits for both Lara and the ninjas, but otherwise unexceptional." - Jay (18-May-2017)
"The author surely has wanted to thrown in some novelty in this classic Egyptian Tut level with a custom outfit for Lara and yellow ninjas. I quite like the pushable statues that are positioned at 45 ° . If some of the rooms are harmonious others are textured a bit carelessly. The main downside of this level , aside from its short duration (15 minutes) is the lack of proper lighting , at least it is not dark at all. An easy level where I was caught off guard once because of the silent spiked balls and where it was strange that Lara could fall down without dying in the corridor with slanted blocks (reload). I like the fact that you end at the other side of the door that you saw in the first room." - eRIC (11-Jan-2009)
"Well, there isn't really all that much to say about it, is there? I happened to play another level between finishing this one and now actually coming back to review it, and had forgotten nearly everything except maybe for the use of a new outfit and new look for the ninjas. I think that about sums up how memorable the experience is overall. There of course is a bit of everything the standard tutorial experience offers - levers, pushable statues, heaps of vases, some monkey swinging and the usual (though uninspired and rather bland) looks, but it all ends before you really manage to get warmed up in about 10 minutes. Give it a go if you want something short, sweet and uncomplicated, but don't expect more from it than that." - eTux (12-Apr-2008)
"Well, the other reviewers have said it -- pretty much the only thing worth in this level is having a look at the retextured objects, which despite looking fresh are lacking any detail. A few levers to push, some gaps to clear (if you fall you're forced to reload, since Lara can't even die down there) and a few baddies to kill before reaching the Hand of Sirius. 10 minutes. 04/08" - Treeble (07-Apr-2008)
"After many a long month away from playing other peoples levels I decided to ease myself back into the swing of things by trying my hand at a simple Egyptian adventure and this certainly put the 'ease' into easy. A just passable little level which made the mistake of introducing several potentially intriguing puzzles (the row of levers; the row of burning torches; the statues in 3 corners of a large room) and then doing nothing whatsoever with them. Instead you run and jump a lot; which is enjoyable enough. Less enjoyable (indeed a great distraction for me) were the awfully stretched and sometimes poorly placed textures which killed a lot of the atmosphere. But Lara's outfit was neat and the Golden Ninja's were marvellous and without doubt the best reason for giving this a go." - Orbit Dream (09-Sep-2004)
"The yellow ninjas were hilarious Lara's blue outfit was nice also. The gameplay though is non-existent. There are no puzzles at all only triggers and occasionally levers to open doors. A monkey swing and the shotgun with the Uzi to get you through the not so many enemies. While approaching a hand which has a closed gate behind it that you have seen at the begin ing the level ends. Short about fifteen minutes and easy." - Kristina (23-Dec-2002)
"Very short but nice level. Only a couple of ninja's in bright yellow outfits to kill with more than enough ammo. For once I am complaining about this level being too bright. Like you were outside in broad daylight. It didn't do the atmosphere any good. Also the water surface was not what it should be. Lara is wearing also a new outfit not bad. Nothing much to do as pushing and pulling. Some spiked balls to avoid and some jumping." - Gerty (01-Dec-2002)
"Cute yellow ninja outfits nice outdoor area where I expected to find the finish but didn't an easy progression that will take the player about 20 minutes to finish and should have nobody stumped. Nothing wonderful but it passes the time." - Sash (21-Jun-2002)
"Only 38 rooms and actually more of a level for beginners to practice Lara's moves. The custom outfit is nice and the ninjas in golden dress look kind of funky. You have to push and pull a few objects jump a bit pull levers and then monkey swing a pit to reach the end after about 20 minutes." - Michael (21-Jun-2002)
"Well I liked this level although it lasted only a bit under 20 minutes. Highlights were Lara's new outfit the green glad Ninjas and the puzzles that varied slightly on an old theme. The one near the beginning of the level in the large room had me thinking for a moment. There is also a ceiling ladder from a long slide near the end that you MUST get to otherwise you drop into a scorpion infested cavern with no way out. The object of the level is to find a hand and as you finally locate it and commence to get it the level sadly ends." - Torry (21-Jun-2002)
"This might make a good 'warm-up' level for many raiders. Lara progresses quickly through a series of rooms with some very simple puzzles and a couple skill sequences before arriving back at the beginning. The level takes only about 15 minutes to complete. Extra credit for Lara's custom outfit and the gold-clad baddies (though I can't be sure they are the author's work)." - Tombaholic (21-Jun-2002)
"Although a shorter level with about 20 minutes of total gametime a few tricky jumps and boulder traps have been thrown in to make that time more enjoyable. The majority of the level though is moving objects opening doors and killing the few ninjas that are scattered about. Your mission is to find the Hand in Tutankhamun's Tomb and escape with it while evading some ninja's in search of the same object. The creator has managed to make a great looking level using the tut1 WAD and the new outfits on both Lara and the ninjas look great. Perfect if you're in the mood for a fun easy level that won't have you lost or stuck even once." - RaiderGirl (21-Jun-2002)
"Short fairly easy level requiring some slope jumping skills. Level ended rather abruptly with a Hand to pick up ahead of a gate and some grey doors in an outside area not opened." - Fairy Godfather (21-Jun-2002)
"There isn't much to say about this level. Boring architecture boring puzzles no special lighting or texturing really nothing innovative or spectacular. I'm sorry but I can't rate it higher. Maybe the next try will be better?" - Sheevah (21-Jun-2002)
"The first thing you will notice is that Lara must have left the Mansion in a hurry cause she just donned some kinky leather boots over her pyjamas before she left for Egypt. A short and easy tutorial adventure with some new custom outfits. You get some boulder traps and a brief jump combination that I managed only on the third try. Otherwise it's business as usual with a little maze the compulsory jeep in the outdoor area a monkeyswing and some pushable statues. At one point you come to room with five levers which a neatly lined up on five different textures and I thought to myself: Wow this is going to be one hell of a puzzle. Probably the five textures represent the five rooms I've been through so far and as each room had a theme (grass bricks sandstone etc) I have to push the levers in the chronological order according to how I passed those rooms. But then I pushed three levers at random and the gate opened. I was really disappointed. The more as there was the maze on the other side." - Dimpfelmoser (21-Jun-2002)
