Reviewer's comments
"In this level you must look for a hidden hole in a vast room, but you need to be careful or else you can fall to your death. Once you find it, you can admire some peculiar posters and then it's up to you what to do next." - alan (14-Oct-2022)
"It's actually a nice level, you see AOD Lara but also something else :)" - Kubsy (19-Jun-2021)
"I am not a cult person so any references this might have included (or at least tried to) would have flown right over my head. The bonus images were somewhat haunting and took me right back to my early teenage years. Glad we've all moved on since. 3 minutes, 2 secrets. 09/20" - Treeble (06-Sep-2020)
"I have to say I love theses jokes levels but I am still only giving this one 2/40" - JoeTheCrazyGamer (28-Jun-2020)
"This joke level is not funny at all. Here you need to locate a fall through unmarked tile and every time Lara dies the game crashes. Once you finally find the tile and get down the ladder a flip map activates and you are greeted with many, many topless Laras' and if that's your thing then go for it." - Torry (09-Jan-2020)
"Nothing to do here except for discover a phantom tile forcing you to die and re-launch the game (yes, another of this levels that forces you to exit and launch the game again if you want to reload) and when you're down advance some meters to activate a flipmap changing the wall textures. Not worth to play." - Jose (24-Jan-2018)
"A vast, nondescript plain, an unmarked pit and a couple of... ahem, "posters". Not much else and not worth bothering with." - Ryan (29-Jan-2017)
"Another pointless attempt at a joke level, with literally nothing to do beyond looking at relatively samey texturing and a random tree in the middle of an empty room and that's it. Not recommended." - Ceamonks890 (08-Dec-2014)
"Since this is a joke level, I thought I should just tell a joke as a review, to make this else boring and meaningless, only for the sake of increasing the review number by one, review more interesting. Maybe some of you know the joke, but some certainly not.
Sherlock Holmes and Dr. Watson go on a camping trip. After a good dinner and a bottle of wine, they retire for the night, and go to sleep.
Some hours later, Holmes wakes up and nudges his faithful friend."Watson, look up at the sky and tell me what you see."
“I see millions and millions of stars, Holmes" replies Watson.
“And what do you deduce from that?"
Watson ponders for a minute. "Well,
Astronomically, it tells me that there are millions of galaxies and potentially billions of planets.
Astrologically, I observe that Saturn is in Leo.
Horologically, I deduce that the time is approximately a quarter past three.
Meteorologically, I suspect that we will have a beautiful day tomorrow.
Theologically, I can see that God is all powerful, and that we are a small and insignificant part of the universe.
But what does it tell you, Holmes?"
Holmes is silent for a moment.
“Watson, you idiot!" he says. "Someone has stolen our tent!"
OK, returning to the level, I only can say one thing: Even no joke is more fun than this one! Leave it where it is!" - manarch2 (07-Jul-2011)
"Couldn't believe that one single room is the whole thing. Why? Because we can read from author's notes: "I was trying some things with ladders, textures and flipmaps making this joke level in the process." That misleading phrase made me look for second ladder or second flipmap for way too long. So let's clarify this: There is only ONE flipmap and only ONE ladder, not "ladderS" or "flipmapS" as the readme says. SUMMARY: If you download this game and read the readme, prepare to experience at about 50% of what is written there in the level." - DJ Full (11-Oct-2010)
"What has Samuel Beckett done to deserve this? The name of his stage play is simply used for a miserable level. Beckett would rotate in the grave if he knew this. First I thought, this level would be a variation of Lara in a box, only under free sky and with a palm. But then I have found the Secretroom. The big wall picture with the AOD-Lara looks quite good, but what has Leroy thought himself, besides when then suddenly even more pictures of Lara were to be seen on the walls? Especially a topless Lara. This should be a Jokelevel? And where is now the joke? This is from the bottom of the deck, but that's it" - Scottie (08-Jun-2009)
"Ah, can you hear the swishing of the waves and the cooing of the birds, if you can you are either by the sea or playing this level, if you are by the sea do not download this level because that is really all that there is. A small platform in the middle of the rooms. That is it." - Cory (15-Oct-2007)
"I've seen "Waiting For Godot" on stage at The Old Vic in London, Sir Ben Kingsley was in it, he was very good. So I do know that by the end of the play nothing has really happened. And still I downloaded this level! What was I thinking? One room, lit and textured. That's all. Apart from the secret 'hole' that you fall into with the picture of Lara on the wall..." - Kitkat (25-Jul-2007)
"Well, I basically ran zig-zags across the floor of the level until I managed to find the hole. Then it was simply a case of 'oh, boobies' before switch-off time. I can't imagine the author had a particularly large amount of dignity left after this level..." - Spike (10-Jul-2007)
"Best to think of this level as a commercial break when watching TV. A quick light-hearted distraction between real levels. Unlike Godot, you won't have to wait too long to get to the punchline of this story. A quick site gag is all you have to look forward to, with eyes wide open. Little or no thought put into the presentation either. The highlight of this level is that it only takes about ten seconds to download." - EssGee (10-Mar-2007)
"Ehhr..Nice pic of Lara in the secret room.. but what else?" - QRS (12-Dec-2005)
"Lets just have a smile and move on to play some real level." - Akcy (05-Jun-2005)
“Estragon: 'Ah! (Pause. Despairing.) What'll we do, what'll we do!' Vladimir: 'There's nothing we can do.' Estragon: 'But I can't go on like this!' In this ten-second level LePerk reveals two beautiful reasons to go on!" - Mezcal (25-Jul-2004)
"I have read 'Waiting for Godot' very thoroughly and I have discovered a link between the play and the level. The author probably lacked inspiration and when he finally found something (it's the part where Vladimir touches the .........) he decided to make a level out of it. There is also another link between the play and the level. Lara (she's an actress. However once she enters the temple she becomes a member of the audience) interacts with the player (or the audience) when Lara and the player shocked look at the textures (or the 'actor') and ask themselves why there is a temple dedicated to Lara's body. I gave 1 for gameplay because it has a little more gameplay than 'Lara in a Box' and 1 for the textures in the first room." - Sakusha (08-Apr-2004)
"It's a small download it takes only a few seconds to play and as Tombaholic says it bumps up my review count very quickly. I loved it. (BTW - I found the secrets. :-D)" - Staticon (31-Mar-2004)
"Funny way to see Lara half naked." - Yoav (08-Mar-2004)
"Well I don't know what to say about this one - run towards the big breast you get a big reward (?). Got Milk?" - Lady Lara (16-Dec-2003)
"I don't understand why someone who already created real levels comes up with something like this. It's simply a little nude raider joke with a secret that is not obvious admittedly. Just when I thought there was nothing to do at all I discovered the hole in the ground. Beckett won't let this pass for modern interpretation of his works ;-)" - Rüdiger (02-Nov-2003)
"Sorry but I don't think the download is worth it. Might be some males see it differently? You can find two secrets by running around and falling through a hole. That's it. And what has Beckett's drama to do with this level? Maybe that nothing of importance happens?" - Tinka (16-Aug-2003)
"It's a joke level and the author does warn about it. All you see is a small outside area with Lara and there are two secrets one of which makes the boys happy lol. Give it a try it's a very small download and will give you a laugh." - Kristina (26-Jun-2003)
"Well this level doesn't need a walkthrough. All you have to do is finding the invisible opening climbing down into the room below and adore our Heroine both dressed and topless. This is not a real level just a study about the different texture. Well I prefer the previous one. :-)" - Obig (22-Jun-2003)
"lol yeah I had to chuckle at this one! Great level! To be honest the first 5 minutes I was on this I didn't know what to do but I got help by the reviews! The end result was smashing!" - TombRaiderFan (12-Jun-2003)
"Find a hidden hole in the ground climb down run around and you get rewarded by not only a couple of giant pictures of Lara but also even more of her topless. hmmm as an Aussie chick I am not surprised this came from one of my male counterparts!" - Sash (08-Jun-2003)
"I probably would have never found both secrets if I hadn't read the other reviews but what a great set of flipmaps I would have missed. I have to admit I expected this pair of secrets to look even bigger than what they were." - RaiderGirl (08-Jun-2003)
"As Leroy explains it it is a joke level the difference is it is a joke level with 2 secrets. And one of the secrets is a snuggle secrets. Have a go at it and see if you can find both of them. 07-06-2003" - Gerty (08-Jun-2003)
"Well I had to try it just to see if the title was appropriate. I've never tried a joke level before and I have to say I probably won't be rushing to do another. Mildly amusing especially the part where I fell down the hole just as I was thinking there was absolutely nothing whatsoever to do but hardly worth the download." - Jay (08-Jun-2003)
"Sorry - not funny for me and certainly one secret too many in there. Had a smile about bERT's review though." - Michael (07-Jun-2003)
"Alright I'll take this cheap opportunity to raise what will no doubt be my voluminous review count for June. At first glance nothing to do here but there are a pair of secrets to find. The second of these secrets may raise eyebrows in the more genteel circles of Raiderdom but I thought it was hilarious. In fact these are the nicest pair of secrets I've seen in many a custom level. ;-)" - Tombaholic (07-Jun-2003)
"OK - it is easy to compare this level to 'Lara in a box' but this level actually has a little gameplay as there are two secrets to be found I'm not so sure that the second one was for me though. ;-) So there is gameplay (?!). There are secrets. There are textures. But not much more." - G.Croft (07-Jun-2003)
"Yes I suppose it's funny. Do you know there are people who scour the Internet long and hard for the imagery of the 2nd secret? Sad bastards." - Orbit Dream (07-Jun-2003)
"I know it would've been better to complete and review author's ship level first but I was so stressed of my real and TR life recently I felt like giving a try to a joke level of which's release the author announced so innocently in the new level thread in the forum. I had a short laugh after finding the 2nd secret but I'd not recommend the level to anyone under 16 (I would say 18 but since I haven't reached that age myself I would contradict with myself lol) who'd feel offended by its sexual nature if you could say like that. 2 points for the 2 secrets and 2 for the AoD and ... ummm... self-made(?) pictures. I presume as a joke level it'll get much reviews anyway so if my review didn't convince you you may as well read the other ones ;)" - eTux (07-Jun-2003)
"Come on Leroy a joke's a joke. Don't make me regret having said to you that I wanted to see all your new levels a.s.a.p. At least you had the decency to put words on the screen saying 'Nothing to be done'." - CC (07-Jun-2003)
"Warning! This is a Freudian test! As soon as you want to yell 'Mr Perkins you're a sexist pig!' it dawns on you that actually you the (male) player are the pig. How else could you have found the second secret... Good one!" - bERT (06-Jun-2003)
