Lara discovers that the artifact she has been searching for - the Book of Destiny - is hidden in the National Museum. She doesn't know who placed it there or why, but she decides to steal it for herself. She embarks on a dangerous mission, sneaking across the museum's rooftop to access the ventilation shafts. From there, she navigates through various floors filled with guards, carefully monitored exhibits, lasers, and other obstacles, until she reaches the main exhibition hall where the Book is securely hidden. Lara manages to seize it and escapes the museum with the guards hot on her heels.

Not even two weeks pass before a group of heavily armed men breaks into Lara's home. Although she successfully fights them off, she soon realizes that they have taken her Book.

With the help of her servant, Lara remembers a man who once spoke to her about the Book. Her memories take her back to her past, to a small town in France and the villa of her acquaintance... a man named Shadow. Lara had been sent to stay with him for a holiday by relatives who mistakenly believed they knew him well. Shadow was deeply interested in mythology, magic, and similar phenomena. Not long ago, he had learned about the Book of Destiny and tracked down its owner, inviting them to his home.

At the time, young Lara was oblivious to these events. However, one day, Shadow locked her in the attic. She managed to escape and secretly made her way to his office, where she overheard a conversation she was never meant to hear - about the Book, its power, and the things Shadow had done to obtain it.

When this memory resurfaces in her mind, Lara realizes who has the Book and what he intends to do with it. Determined, she heads back to France, to Shadow's lair. Using the backstreets, she infiltrates his home and locates the place where he has hidden his prize. But waiting for her there are surprises Shadow has already set in motion...

(The Story because of limitations I had in 2008 is sadly not told inside the game)
