Who hasn't been enchanted with the legends & images of mighty Babylon? The Tower, the City of blue tiles, the hanging gardens, the Empire of King Nebuchadrezzar, the fantastic engineering/sciences/arts of Babylon. I'd always wanted to do a TombRaider game in this location & when I read a text about Queen Sammeramat of Assyria(900 B.C),I knew I'd found something unique. The Queen enjoyed military campaigns with her hubby(the King)...apparently, she was an excellent rider, hunter & proficient with weapons. After the King's untimely death, Sammeramat poisoned a few family members and had some subordinates publicly drawn & quartered to consolidate her rule of the Assyrian Empire. In keeping with Assyrian tradition, she embarked on a tenure of war &
conquest to expand the Empire, employing the Assyrian policy of collecting ideas, arts & sciences from the conquered nations...Samm...had a harem, collected art, played musical instruments &
filled her court with musicians & artists from far-away nations. she was assassinated after 14 yrs. in power...Queen Sammeramat was not the first female to rule a nation(in recorded history)
she was the first known as a ..WarLord |
