According to an ancient legend, the Sun God would be set free once the two halves of the Sun Stone are put together. His release would doom the planet to complete destruction, so Lara embarks on a journey to prevent such ceremony from ever happening.

Destination: Spain
Objectives: If Lara were to perform a ceremony with both pieces of the Sun Stone, in a location she hasn't uncovered yet, she could finish the Sun God for ever and save mankind. Lara travels to Spain to retrieve the second half of the Sun Stone, and also to try and discover where in the world the ritual must be performed.
