Erected by Emperor Jayavarman VII, The Temple of Ta Prohm represents Prajnaparamita, the personification of wisdom and peace. The temple, which was capital of the Javer Empire, was abandoned for 400 years after the fall of the empire. Years later Europeans found old writings about an artifact called the Cintamani Stone, which is capable of granting wishes. In addition to superstitions, the stone represents the values of Buddhist teachings and of course it has never been found. Although it is often cited in ancient writings but there was never any solid evidence of its existence. |
