"This level doesn't offer much gameplay, it is very linear, and as a result you don't really
feel like you are exploring anything. However it surprisingly flows so I was never bored
playing it. While a good number of the linear tasks are pointless switch pulling, the author
added several features to spice it up. Like some bike jumps, sphere shooting, sneaky turrets
which got me, and a fun room to platform. These things are of course important to keep the
player interested and engaged. The map design is in my opinion the main problem with the
level, it feels bland, and almost lazy, consisting of undecorated small rooms and a big
city-like area, with only a few welcome details as exceptions. Overall it is quite
serviceable, and suitable for a short raid." - Nomad (30-Nov-2023) |

"Continuing on from where Lara left off from the Cathedral of the Fallen, I found this to be a more enjoyable effort. The coastal textures are more pleasant to the eye in this one and the gameplay is fast paced and has more of a variety. There's a sneaky little fire tile puzzle at the start that might have you thinking a bit, some brilliant motorbike segments (do run over the guards for a bit of fun) and some interesting navigation of a few tall rooms while accomplishing different tasks along the way. Nothing too difficult, but nonetheless enjoyable and this is accessible for everyone." - Ryan (17-Nov-2018) |

"Quite better than the author's previous level. There are
cameras and some sound in this one. The tasks are simple.
Textures are from coastal.wad and it's mixed with some city
enemies and objects. An easy level for beginners." - alan (05-Apr-2018) |

"Levels brigtness is good and textures are OK. Very simple level and linear. Cameras OK, well balanced enemies. This is an average level without big minuses or plusses." - vienna (02-Sep-2016) |

"I like the old coastal textures and they are used to good effect here. This level follows on from Lara's adventure in Cathedral of the Fallen and she's still collecting armour. It's a likeable level with some fun motorbike riding and running over guards. Uncomplicated but nice and another excellent level for beginners." - Jay (04-Mar-2016) |

"This time the level is much better than the previous from this author. Better textured, variety of tasks with fresh ideas, some funny rides with the bike, some cameras and flybies, well worked lights, well balanced enemies... This coastal-type level was worth to play for me; you wont find great puzzles but, at least, it's entertaining. Good work." - Jose (13-Nov-2015) |

"If it goes after the textures, then we are in a Coastal Ruins-Level. If it goes after the background sound and the sky, then we are in a City of Dead-Level. This does not fit anyhow. However, I am glad which has become it not a City of Dead-Level, because they mostly look awful. Lara must collect here an armament and can make occasionally the area unsafe with the motorcycle. Opponents are SAS-Soldiers. A few Sentry-Guns are also lying round there, however, become only a problem if one drives a wrong way with the motorcycle. Playing time was about 25 minutes. The armament parts were easy to be found, because one tripped already almost over them. The motorcycle tour was quite interesting. However, it was a little bit annoying, that it was sometimes a little bit dark. The textures were good and there were present a few nice jump combinations. All together a respectable level without big highlights." - Scottie (18-Jun-2009) |

"For my money, or lack thereof, this is the most satisfying of the early Staticon offerings. It has visually appealing surroundings, crisp gameplay with the proper mix of enemies and puzzles, and even a spin on the motorbike. However, I had more animation issues with this level than any of the others. The ladder, monkey swing, rope swinging and even the wading animations were all haywire, forcing me to use the flycheat for progression. I used the basic (and original) level editor files for building and installation, as there was no indication that I should do anything different, so I have no explanation for this. Anyway, it didn't spoil my enjoyment of this 40-minute romp, which was easy, linear and well lit. Recommended." - Phil (19-Nov-2008) |

"This completes the early saga of Staticon's levels. This level is based on the city wad and has the same feel to it. Dark, with and eerie green sky ;) The lighting is really good and the textures too. The gameplay is spiced up by the cool bike ride and the very clever door puzzle! A good level but it still lacks the atmosphere and architecture of the 'Cathedral of the fallen' It took me about 20 minutes to finish and I can really recommend it if you want some fun with the bike! Also, a really nice room with a flowing pillar of water in which you can swim. Looks really cool!" - QRS (15-Apr-2006) |

"Much more in the line of puzzles in this level having come from Cathedral of the Fallen. You slide into a pool and there's your first piece of armour and the crowbar thank you very much. A little hop over a fire to climb a ladder and soon you get the lasersight. Nice little room with the first blue ball to shoot with that waterfall in the centre. You see a dead soldier on a platform before a door you want to go through and when you climb up he sits up and hauls himself towards the door. God my heart nearly stopped. Into a much bigger room with columns to jump while shooting swinging balls behind several doors. Now you can get the bike and drive over lots of soldiers in the city street find the pit and go down either side to different rooms. One is a huge room with ledges and pillars to get down to the floor and back up again. Nice bit of rope swinging here. And not too much further on in a maze where blocks lower themselves down as you approach and you're done." - CC (08-Aug-2003) |

"A level with a pleasant gameplay. Good texturing and lighting. Quite easy but enjoyable. I had fun riding the motorcycle through the SAS guards and I liked the raising blocks at the end." - Cuqui (24-Dec-2002) |

"This is a short level (45 minutes for me) and starts off a bit slow but then gets better towards the end. Find a few arm and leg parts a long the way and open a few doors. All a bit mundane I'm afraid. The textures were good and I liked the red raising block doors." - Doug E (01-Dec-2002) |

"I really liked this level. I've read the other reviews and saw a lot of negative comments but I think it's a fine level. Maybe not up to the beauty of Cathedral of the Fallen but still a pleasant romp. Very linear you almost always know what to do. But still pleasurable gameplay for an enjoyable 35 minutes spent. Not a lot of bad guys most of them I ran over with the motorcycle which I managed for once to not crash and burn 10 times. A couple of decent jumping sequences and of course the oh so entertaining dead guy. Did anyone wonder exactly WHAT killed him? hmmmm" - Momster (16-Jul-2002) |

"This is a slightly different looking city level than the usual ones although there is still the mandatory motorbike riding in the middle. The aim here is to collect the 5 armor pieces while making your way through this pretty straightforward and at times quite gloomy 30 minutes level. Watch out for the creepy dead soldier moment I nearly peed myself!" - Sash (21-Jun-2002) |

"This level can bring you a fast and easy half an hour of entertainment using coastal textures in the City WAD. Progression is quite straightforward and had me reloading only once during the whole game. There are few pick-ups and even fewer enemies and unfortunately also a few missing textures which supports the feeling that the level seems somewhat unfinished." - Michael (21-Jun-2002) |

"Continuation of the Cathedral level we are now in a city. The design is nice and again the level is made of simple puzzles. Nothing complicated here. There's a ride with the motorbike which I really enjoyed. Again there are useless items as the crowbar and the armor pieces. The level takes about 30 minutes." - Treeble (21-Jun-2002) |

"This level starts out a little slow with a few simple puzzles and enemies that post no threat at all. Then it starts getting interesting. The rest of the level brings back all the fun elements of the Cairo levels in 'Last Revelation' and adds a nice jump puzzle that reminded me of a spot from Tomb Raider 2. I found quite a few pick-ups including 5 pieces of armor though except for one part of the game there were few enemies. You won't find a lot of hard puzzles here just a few good bike jumps machine guns to shoot down switches to find doors to open soldiers to run over and a short but fun maze at the end of the level with blocks that raise up and down around you. I was disappointed when I didn't find a lot of the custom textures that I've come to expect from staticon's levels but it still looked nice and was fun to play. The corpse that drags itself onto another block is worth watching a few times over." - RaiderGirl (21-Jun-2002) |

"So far still one level to play made by Kev but this is the one I liked the most. Although linear not so straightforward as the others I played. After installing the revised WAD I was on my way (I do keep forgetting to use them). Not only levers to pull but some shooting as well to open up some doors. The bike ride was fun not too difficult for us not so nibbled fingered persons. The dying soldier was creepy and I reloaded a few times just to have a better look LOL. The corridor with the raising blocks was also something new. All in all a great looking level." - Gerty (21-Jun-2002) |

"Once again an average level by the author. The gameplay is very linear and the level is very easy. There are some enemies but they're not many (only in the place when you've got the motorcycle and can just drive through them). The texturing is quite good and so is the lighting. When I ended the level after 20 minutes I still hadn't used the crowbar." - Magnus (21-Jun-2002) |

"Minus points first: A very dodgy poorly constructed start. Easy puzzles (Pull lever door behind opens). Incorrectly positioned doors. The entire shimmy section is avoidable. You can swing through walls (my pet hate). Now the plus points: Some well-designed large rooms. Walls that retract into the ground. Custom textures. A dead guard who wakes up and drags himself away..brilliant! Fun fast moving gameplay. Conclusion? Worth a play but no masterpiece." - Orbit Dream (21-Jun-2002) |

"A standard level with your only goal to collect the pieces of armor. Not to worry they are not hidden all of them are in plain sight. One is a secret but I have no idea why since the lever is next to the grate that contains it and you just drop and take it. Some SAS guards to kill and a five doors task which have blue balls to shoot and they are timed so you better do it quickly. Although with all of them if you just stand in the same block that makes the next door to open and shoot from there you will never have a problem jumping around to catch a door open. The textures give the impression more of a catacomb level than a city one as this is supposed to be. After a couple of levers and while the bike is acquired to jump over the pits a few climbs and the level ends in a small room with raising and lowering blocks as you approach them reaching a dead end is your way out. The fire trap at the beginning and once more along the way but still it's easy to avoid it by grabbing the end of the ladder. Thirty minutes spent in this one and off to the next one." - Kristina (21-Jun-2002) |

"A nice City-Level. A few gunning-machines some soldiesrs and a drive with the motorbike are inside. The level is not hard and short (40 minutes). This is not a typical city-game the textures are nice I had fun to play this level. What I find great: the blocks there are going up and down." - Andi Croft (21-Jun-2002) |

"Another quick fast and easy level where you have to push an awful lot of levers. Since this is the city wad you bump into a few SAS guards but never more than one at a time so no problems enemy wise. You find the five pieces of armour along the way without really looking for it and getting the motorbike is equally easy. The subsequent ride was my favourite part of the game cause you can't push levers once you're on the bike. The are tentative stabs at puzzles and tricky jumps but everything remains kinda harmless. Yet there is one really spooky bit here that scared the living daylights out of me. You get one of those dead soldiers the ones that are missing a foot and that you usually have to drag away from the goodies they so inconsiderately died on. Now here once you entered the room with the poor guy bleeding to death he moves away by himself. Shudder." - Dimpfelmoser (21-Jun-2002) |
